3 years in and we look the same, if not worse off compared to year 1. It feels like Rangnick's version of United. Just not excited to watch my team play, always fear the worse and at the end, feel apathetic when the worse does happen.

We should get an ex cult hero player in as caretaker or something to improve morale.

Or maybe a 1990s coach who didn't win any trophies but who apparently created one of the most effective styles of football in Europe.
Just get a random Spanish coach in and stop hiring dutch people to be our manager

Never a red card and that killed the game entirely. Yes, we were shit but all hope was extinguished with that awful decision

I've supported ETH for a long time but it must be time to change at this point, 7 games and we haven't got going.

Question is what top manager in his right mind would come here?
Ffs the worse performance I’ve seen this season and there has been some pretty bad performances but this is the worse by a country mile and I can’t even blame the red card, we were shite before that.

Could have been worse really.

Should be the end of the Pep Guardiola is my idol but it won't be. Not yet anyway

Sack him, get RVN as interim. Get McKenna at end of season. Simple as that: his Ipswich play better football than United.

I am guilty of thinking that performances were improving but that there is inexplicable

The saddest part for me is that Ugarte and De Ligt looks really bad in ETH style of play. Hope it's the system and not the players. The pair look like big money down the drain again.

Martinez is dogshit. If Maguire defend like him he will be crucified.

There’s no point keeping him even if there’s quick 2 games coming up. RVN can be interim till we get someone by international break. This is appalling!

Today's performance was lazy from the first whistle. To come out at half time and concede again within a couple of minutes and not even give themselves a chance. Shocking.

Atrocious. 10-15 minutes where the players showed up a bit - mainly helped by the Old Trafford crowd trying to big them up.

I like Ten Hagg as the guy, but he ain’t the manager we need to move forward. The longer we keep him, the further we’ll fall back.

Type of performance that makes you crave an international break.

This game was awful. Our midfield has been dysfunctional for 16 months, ever since Casemiro stopped covering the ground for three players.

We don't seem any closer to fixing this issue, and today, with Dalot having one of his worst performances, the problem only got worse.

Bruno Fernandes is also becoming a liability in the current system. We either need to change the formation or consider dropping him altogether—but he's now our club captain and one of our highest earners. So, what do we do? Perhaps it's time to fully embrace a counter-attacking approach with a deep defensive setup, even if I don't like this approach.

The vast majority of us agreed he had to go before the Fa Cup Final. Every single one of you that changed your vote to keep him after that one game asked for more of this shite. Hope you're all enjoying it.
My exact thoughts as well. Everyone fecking deserves this. Hope they keep EtH all damn year.

The manager just needs backing in the transfer market and sometime and we can rebuild and then things will be fine.

The trend of the match was obvious as soon as we saw the line-up that ETH put out. Spurs would dominate the ball and control the general play and we would try to hit them on the counterattack. The only question was whether it would work. On another day it might have, but it's embarrassing that our 'playstyle' lets so many teams control things against us. Relying on counterattacks is always going to be more inconsistent than actually controlling things ourselves, but that's never going to happen with this manager.

And goes against the few times we’ve looked decent this season. When we slowed it down and kept the ball against Palace we looked much the better for it.

Pathetic performance up to the red card which was very soft. After that we were no better. Some shocking performances.

Dalot had a mare and was out of position again and didn’t pick up the runner for the first goal.

Martinez was equally inept diving in Maguire style.

Ugarte failed to impress. Mainoo dire.

The rest were just very poor.

Typical depressing performance.

Fair play to spurs they were bang up for it and have a few very handy players.

What is it with these Adidas shirts that make our players look older, slower, weaker and about 2ft smaller.

Really poor and I've been in the "back" camp until now. Still not convinced we're ready as a club to move on in a meaningful way (without the underlying squad/recruitment issues affecting the new manager as well) but it's hard to see how it couldn't improve on this.

Can't believe how badly we started today

Bruno couldn't hold for 3 mins. It's not a red but that's really a stupid challenge. He lacked awareness that a captain needs.

Irrespective of the result from next two matches, the manager should get the sack.

Old management would wait a month to make a decision, i am curious what the new management does at this time.

Onana kept this from being a historical drubbing. Some might say it already is at 0-3 to Spurs. I'm sick of these turning the corner moments that lead us to the same shit circle every time. There is nothing to hang onto with this team anymore. Get EtH out and maybe we'll have something to look forward to this season.

Question is what top manager is available that can build long term success?
The next manager doesn't have to be the one who delivers us long-term success. They just need to move us significantly in the right direction, and then if they end up not being able to take us all the way we then replace them with someone who hopefully can. Of course, the fact that so many fans beg for even a blatantly failing manager to stay makes me fear for the day that we want to fire a good manager to bring in a better one.

Credit where credit is due. Narrowly lost by 3 goals with 10 men when it easily could have been by 5 or 6 goals. Masterclass all things considered.

Why Southgate? What’s so good about him. Still can’t wrap my head around this.
Available, easy to get, and has managed someone high profile before.

These are the only reasons I can think of. He would probably make us harder to beat, but boring overall and blunt going forwards.

There hasn't generally been a rhyme or reason on the types of managers we fluctuate between.

I've backed him the entire way but we're getting to the point of inexcusable. I really want us to identify a long term manager and plan that fits with the way INEOS want to play first. I really don't want an interim.

Each time you think you've seen our worst performance we go and stoop to new levels

Absolutely disgraceful. No desire, no leaders, no discipline.

I'm furious with the players attitudes, didn't even TRY and make something happen just gave up yet will happily collect their hundreds of thousands a week wage

ETH has Absolutely got to go. Tonight. I said before the FA cup we could win 10-0 and I'd still want him gone because of how awful the season was. Ineos have made this bed and now have to lie in it..it's basically written off the season and I don't think they'll pull the trigger yet

I Absolutely don't want Southgate and don't think RVN is the answer but ETH is untenable at this point (and was a long time ago let's be honest)

Like it’s up to the fans to hire and fire managers.

Total waste of time until the manager is sacked, feel sorry for anyone wasting their money on this.

It's such a shame as it looked an inspired appointment getting what looked to the next up and coming star manager, having tried a couple of "was once" brilliant managers on the way down.

But he's basically brought his old pals in, decided not to play like they did, and essentially he's had a few month purple patch where Casemiro, Bruno, Martinez and Rashford were absolute beasts and nothing apart from that.
