Can’t argue it wasn’t a fair result over 90 mins.

For us, not a great second half. But I thought the first was generally decent.

Some questionable subs you can put down to experimentation.

Overall I’m whelmed with what I’m seeing from Amorim. We look like we’re making big changes, and it’s not going to go seamlessly.

Mate, we’ve played Everton, Ipswich and Forest and got 4 points from it. What the feck are you delighted about.

We created feck all after we got back to 3-2. It’s been as bad as anything we’ve seen under the previous managers - but yeah it’s a new name so let’s pretend it’s class.

Ipswich should have won, Everton missed great chances, were lucky we’ve not lost every league game under him

Abysmal.

Let's not try to excuse it. We concede goals nobody else does. We are the Banter FC. You would be able to make hours of comedy footage from the goals we have let in just over the last few years. While our attack is basically: 'What form is Bruno in today?' With a little bit of get it to Amad on the side.

I will be honest, I gave up after Bruno went off. I knew we wouldn't get anything. Not because Bruno was amazing but he's literally the only one in this team who seems uncomfortable with just recycling possession. The lack of real urgency to equalise was typical of the past couple of years. We had some good possession, slung a couple of crosses in but it wasn't wave after wave, save after save. Leave Bruno on and you always think, at some stage, he'll make something for somebody. The rest...

Ultimately, you cannot be some pathetic in defence and so toothless going forward and expect to do better than we are doing.

We need a blank cheque to just buy out this entire team and restart again. Rotten throughout and at most we have like 2-3 players that are even PL quality.

Amorim has made a huge mistake in coming here.
Right now he's feeling like Ned Stark in his first week at King's Landing.

Old Trafford just seems to exist for the enjoyment of opposition players and fans at this point.

No belief in the place whatsoever.
Time to knock it down so we don’t have to hear how many years it’s been since ‘x’ team won there…..then duly go and do it.

We are a mess.

One or two players seem switched on and up for it, and the rest has either checked out or just good enough.

Dalot on the left side is a mess. Shouldn’t even be playing after an abysmal run of games. Play Maz on the right and Amad on the left.

Rashford getting on and just isn’t putting himself in there. He’s just switched off. Doesn’t bring anything to the team other than the odd good finish. Offers zero threat.

Our captain is so wasteful. Costs us possession time and time again. He just doesn’t seem to unite the team when we are down. More like the opposite.

At the end of the day, who’s gonna lead this team on the field? Or only consistent peformers are all new in the team (Maz, Ugarte and Amad). The high-earners and supposed leaders (Rash, Maguire, Bruno, Casemiro, Shaw etc.) are a mess.

Trust the process...

Learned a few things in this one: Yoro is going to be an excellent player for us, Ugarte can thrive in this system, Dalot Maguire Onana Garnacho can't rub together two brain cells between the 4 of them. Every time a flick or backheel fails, our player should get fined $100,000, we gave the ball away needlessly so many times because player A expected player B to be psychically tuned in to whatever hidden designs were running through their skull.

What in the feck was Onana doing this game? Reaction speed of a drugged yak.

Dalot is a trier but is not a wingback.

Maguire gave the ball away repeatedly after some good defensive work, and that's a hallmark of his game. Maguire and Dalot need shipping out.

2-3 is fairly accurate although we bossed the first half. Shat the bed in the 2nd half. Højlund looked totally gassed, Rashford ineffective as an "impact" sub, Mount went missing.

What did you see that makes you think Yoro is going to be an excellent player for us? I've nothing against him, he wasn't bad but he also did absolutely nothing and I'm not sure he made us any better defensively. He seemed pretty anonymous.

I agree on everything else you said. The only players I currently see as good enough in this squad are Amad, Mazraoui, Bruno, and maybe De Light on current form. The rest are woeful. Mainoo equally seems a shell of his former self this season.

Sadly a very ETH-esque loss

1. Spells of good and bad football with no consistency
2. Horrible individual errors.
3. Baffling subs, hollowing out midfield.

Well your username checks out

It's still rubbish but he's a new manager so he's got the rest of this season without judgement.

Ten Hag out!
Wait! he's already out. We were lead to believe that he was the problem. These players needs to be binned.

What Onana did today was unforgivable and it should be the last straw. I'd immediately make Bayindir first choice till the end of the season no matter what happens. I'd transfer list Onana in January and sign a keeper in the summer. Enough is enough.

We’re so shit. Realistically, we need at least 11 new signings that end up being good players to turn this squad around. Start with a goalkeeper. Judging by our recruitment record in recent years, we barely sign a good player per year, so this could take a while…

Worst post Fergie seaason so far. Onana, De Ligt, Yoro, Martinez, Mazraoui and our defence still sucks big time.

Players did the same under ETH to be honest, starting halves poorly

We played well overall, dominated Forrest as we should, created chances but their keeper had a good game.

On our side, we gifted 3 goals
And Solskjaer, and the army of interim managers in between. The players that have been here for the duration need to go, especially the “leading” players.

No amount of good coaching can plan for shocking goal keeping and brainless positioning from your defenders.

You can tell a few of these have a very strong idea that they aren't here next season and they are playing like it.

Bruno, Garnacho, Dalot, Rashford, Martinez, Onana, all absolute dog shit today.

The issue wasn't the formation, or the structure. The structure :-

Allowed Dalot to get the ball in a lot of space very often
Allowed passing options for every player in every phase
Allowed for plenty of numbers in defensive transition
Allowed for options for Rasmus to play off

The issue was the players and them continually making very, very basic passing mistakes and decisions that all professional players at this level should be required to be able to achieve consistently. No matter how much beneficial framework you place around them, if they can't accurately make 5-10 yard passes without turning them into throw-ins, corners and counter-attacks, you are doomed.
Got to agree with this, the amount of players we have that can’t seem to do the basics is unreal.

I've said it for a long time and I will say it again: When will people realize that the manager isn't the problem?

Moyes, van Gaal, Mourinho, Solskjaer, Rangnick, Ten Haag and now Amorim - yet none of them turned United into a powerhouse again, despite several of them being highly successful at multiple other big clubs (van Gaal, Mourinho).

The problem starts at the very top and this poor culture trickles down and infects everyone else.
A bit too early to write off Amorim, don't you think?

Haha anyone who Rashford did well needs their head checking. He was a pedestrian except the final attempt on goal from him.

That moment when Rashford came on and we were on the break down the right, and it was 2-on-1 on that side, with Amad inside for the easy pass, and instead Marcus decided to try to take the defender on TWICE! Are you freaking kidding me?!

According to Sky, United had 72% possession and 17 shots - and we still manage to lose. Unbelievable. Not sure how much more Amorim can do with this bunch.

Ten Hag out!
Wait! he's already out. We were lead to believe that he was the problem. These players needs to be binned.
He very much was the problem. Unfortunately in football you can't immediately sack players he signed and built his team around. He set us back at least another 5 years and is amongst the worst coaches in club history.

Ten Hag out!

He was a major problem. Look at the squad and see how many of those players are his signings. Now, think about how much he spent on some of them? Because we sure as he'll can't spend our way out of this due to him.

There’s only one solution to this, gut it all and it’ll take however long it takes.

Yeah that's what we already did over the last 5 transfer windows. It turns out selling 20 odd players and bringing in 15-20 isn't really the solution. Especially as we've tried it twice now post SAF.

Half of this squad needs to be sold and it is the truth. Antony, Casemiro, Eriksen, Lindeloft, Rashford, Dalot, Shaw, Malacia, Sancho, Bruno, Onana, Mount ( I don't know what does he bring) Hoijund and Garnacho are not starting XI material. Ineos and Amorim has a huge job to move these players out where 50% was bought by ETH.

Is it really so that there is not a single player in this United team, that would get into the starting lineup for Liverpool, Arsenal, City or Chelsea. I can’t think of one

Dalot is too stupid for this level. Has terrible focus and concentration for this level, gets forward a lot and does naught apart from a couple of great crosses a season - sell

Every time Rashford gets on the field, his value goes down - sell.

Onana - He was bought for his distribution but it's actually pretty mediocre, he loses focus at times, and there are better keepers out there who wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Sell.

Martinez - never been the same after the injuries. Avoid using him in set pieces (lol). I would consider selling him as he could command a decent fee.

Mount - everyone knew he was a stupid transfer *but* he'll need a proper run of games before we can finally assess what he can bring for us, which he hasn't actually had in the 18 months he's been here. 60/40 on selling.

I'd love to hear today from everyone that were so adamant that Ten Hag was the problem.

The first two thirds were fine under him too.

Maz needs to start.

Dalot and Rashford should never play again for us.

We need to involve Amad more.

Garnacho should only come off the bench.
What did Rashford do so wrong in this game?

Garna was horrible 2/3 of the game, if anything Rashford was an improvement when he came on.

That said, don't think any of them were good or above average except for Amad and Ugarte

Not surprised really. No manager can perform miracles with this group of players. We were beaten by a better team. Forest were technically, physically and mentally superior.

inbetweeners-fecking-dreadful.gif

Horrible result, and our first home loss to Nottingham Forest in 30 years. Our players are fecking shit.
It's not great, but that comment doesn't give the context of Forest being relatively strong this season and us being the opposite. Whilst it's factually correct, you said that like we were playing a team in the relegation zone.

It's annoying, but the likes of us and Spurs have dropped another level, while a lot of teams in league that we feel entitled to turn up and beat have become a lot better. It's not an easy league at all now and there will be more results like this along the road.

It’s literally going to take 4 transfer windows and about £800m to get us challenging for top 4 !
Obviously not. But it will take us being brave and accepting that a mass clear out is needed. The ETH evolution not revolution mistake can’t be made - obviously the replacements need to be strong. We’ve essentially hoarder an expensive mediocre bunch of players that have a loser mentality - this doesn’t need a small change but an acceptance of a complete overhaul.
