PL L FA Premier League

Manchester United 0:2 Newcastle United

Post-match discussion

There has not been a manager since Sir Alex that I didn't want to give more time to when we sacked them (aside from Jose, I was ambivalent either way because I thought he wanted to go).

I'd sack Amorim tonight. I think we probably avoid relegation if we sack him. If we keep him it's 50/50 at best. He's taken a group of players most people agreed weree underperforming under Ten Hag and got them performing considerably worse. Literally only sunk cost fallacy and PSR considerations keeping him in a job.

Yes the players are at fault too but this guy has been absolutely exposed by the switch to the premier league.
This has been Man Utd for the last 10 years.

Replace Lindelof, Shaw, Mount, Casemiro, Eriksen, Maguire, Onana, Rashford, Hojlund before replacing the manager,

I know the squad is thin, but many of these players don't give a sh*t and are not adapting to what the new manager wants, or giving the effort needed. You don't want to change the tactics, fine. But you've got to start making changes to the lineup.

Ineos done a worse job that Glazers? This is really bad, it's just hilarious. The scary but even funnier thing is, we could be relegated. I cannot get my head around the 2nd or 3rd highest paid team in the league, playing like that? Something has to happen fast, sell this pile of S in Jan on the cheap, I'd much rather watch the youth be relegated and put there heart into it than watch these overpaid lovers. Casemiro, why no colleyer. Dalot, why no amas. Hojlund, why no chido. The list goes on. Pathetic bunch of players. The thing that hurts the most, my mkney and your money is going to these f ers. They are paid with the merch we buy. Well you know what, from now on, this club ain't getting a penny more from me until this bunch of lovers are gone.

Spare a thought for all those season ticket holders who have to sit through this every week. Or the people who paid 66 quid for their kids to come along.

Same as it’s been for years now.

Lack of courage, lack of effort, lack of fight, lack of physicality, lack of confidence

It’s worse.

Players like Casemiro and Eriksen at the end of their career, nothing to play or fight for.

Youngsters expected to carry the club on their shoulders.

Divas like Rashford stropping around the place.

Players signed that aren’t good enough for the very worst teams in the league.

Players out of position, new formation than no one knows how to play, extremely light in almost every position.

I could go on tbh but it’s just tiring at this point.

For lot of you who didn’t experience 80’s. This is worse. Depressing stuff. Remember, no club is to big to get relegated.

Honestly looks like the players don't give a crap. All earning fortune and can't do the basics.
They know as well as the fans that this system does not work with these personnel. So being asked to go out and do something they "know" isn't going to work becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. That, and when you work your socks off to stop an attack only for your teammate to hand the ball right back to them, or your forward can't trap a bag of cement, it gets disheartening. I think they care, they just don't see their own role in our demise.

Disagree.

They're in a long list of malefactors.

Been shite for a long, long, long time. Can't just blame such an easy target. Not soli, anyway.

No of course not. But if we had got Amorim in during the summer it would be different

United and City battling it out for the Championship next season.

What dreams are made of.

Beyond pathetic now. These players and this manager will see the club relegated
I wouldn’t blame manager but yes anyone who believes we can’t go down may get a wake up call, we’re a joke

There might be something in that thing about Martinez being too short to play centre back.

After 5-10 mins of second half you could have easily called 2-0 result. Newcastle dropped off. They were barely bothered.

We were embarrassed and embarrassing. This was the single worst performance I've seen in many a year. Not a single player looked bothered, not a single player looked capable. Not a single player looked fit to wear the shirt.

Feck me, I may no longer live in Manchester, I may not be a season ticket holder, I may not be at OT every week, but feck it, this is my club, and these guys are paid to represent it. Look at the badge on your shirt you fecking charlatans. Absolute abhorrent. Hang your heads you collection of amateurs.

Worse is yet to come. We are very bad at football and deserve our position in the league. There isn't many sides I'd fancy us to beat at the moment. Dreadful side.
Ipswich won 2-0 against Chelsea, and that was about the closest thing to a sure win as we could hope for. Ipswich would fecking murder us.

There might be something in that thing about Martinez being too short to play centre back.
The goals weren't because he was too short. It was because he pathetically didn't even put a challenge in and had no positional awareness.

Better than expected. This is the worst we've been in 50 years.
I watched them a lot In 73/74 and I can assure they were very poor, the only thing I will say about that team is that they did put a lot of effort in, but were poor players, now I believe we have a number of good players, but not enough effort and at the moment organization, that’s what Eddie Howe is good at, he is like and upgraded Pulis , or Dyche, hard to beat and run their socks off for 95 mins

We can’t score, don’t score, and have no idea how to score. If that pattern doesn’t change in the near future, we’re in real trouble in terms of premier league future. Stunning to write this.

Probably couldn't have a worse fixture now - Newcastle are a very physical team and even the less physical like Gordon are very aggressive workers. The exact type of team our players cower against, scared of a shoulder charge or going for a header, or having to pass under any pressure.

0-2

Called it pre match and was the safest call of my United supporting life.

A physically and mentally weak team, run by cowards, who let the club get made a mockery of day in day out. Everything about the club on and off the pitch is soulless and awful, and we compounded it by playing the worst central midfield in PL history at this point.

I am definitely not a fan of the current formation. When we play with 2 central midfielders, they have to have a lot of help from the 2 there are right in front of them - ie Amad and Zirkzee. But there is no help from them and Casemiro and Eriksen were outplayed all the time. That is one of the reasons why Mainoo is also coming on instead of Zirkzee. We do not have the players for this formation.

There was a time in the end of the match where Newcastle players were just bouncing off Garnacho, Eriksen and Mainoo all within a span of 20 seconds, how did we get to get at this stage to have a team of midgets and physically inept players, who lack pace, athleticism and dribbling ability.

Feck the PSR, we need LWB, LW and ST at the very least in this Jan. Hojlund is just too raw at this stage, his touch, hold up play everything is pretty awful. It looks like his every 2nd touch is a tackle, where he has to recover for his poor first touch. Whoever thought spending 70M on such a raw player was a smart idea, needs to be sacked.

Actual crisis. Ruben might be sacked by by new year. Relegation a reality. My god, this is dreadful.
For who? They've brought him in to rip it all up and start again.he won't be sacked,he will be allowed to rebuild.

Four consecutive defeats and Liverpool (a) up next.

We are not winning games we could win with the personnel available because we have yet another rigid system.

We need to choose to be either solid at the back or free scoring, at the minute we are neither.

I’d go attacking and get some goals/ entertainment back.

We have lost 5 of our last 6 league games that is on par with only one other club and that is Southampton. That little fact should have alarm bells ring loud and clear around Old Trafford and Carrington.
I do not see Ratcliffe splashing the cash for players in January, I believe what we already have is what we have got for the rest of the season.

Our academy got beaten 4-1 by Huddersfield Town. Not sure they would do much against Newcastle or Liverpool. We are going to have to stick with this rotten bunch, and it is going to take 4 transfer windows to get this squad where it needs to be.

Newcastle appeared to at least, outrun us.

Several players are clearly not going to be here if we expect to progress. I’m looking at Onana, Martinez and Zirkzee
Don't stop there! Add Rashford, Maguire, Dalot, Eriksen, Casemiro, Malacia, Antony. Could conceivably add Højlund and Garnacho too if we're not going to bring in players to start ahead of them and let them have reduced roles.

We need a new team, but my god we desperately need a striker in January. This is just ridiculous.
There’s a couple of strikers in youth team, get them in can’t be any worse. Although I do feel a bit for Hojlund,he’s not exactly been given a lot of service .
