Amorim has to take blame for sticking with defensive wingbacks and putting Eriksen and Casemiro in midfield. He needs to figure something out.

What I’m struggling with is that Amorim knows you can’t play cas and Eriksen together. Hes done that. He knows it.

But he did it again.

And remembered after 30 minutes what a dreadful decision it was

He needs to STOP being stupid.

I personally don’t think you can play 3-4-3 in the premier league and WIN it. But maybe it can make us better than we are now.

But he’s got to stop making stupid decisions or he will end up sacked.
Not just that but pairing them with ZZ who can't run either.

Beyond pathetic now. These players and this manager will see the club relegated

I want to say at least we didn't completely collapse in the second half but I can't tell how much of that is due to Newcastle sitting back and how much was us actually improving. I don't see United winning a game until Southampton. It'll get worse.

Genuine relegation battle incoming. We are not winning any games any time soon. We cannot score and buying a striker (not that we can afford) wouldn't help without investing in players who can pass, cross, or put in a set piece that doesn't hit the first defender or go straight into the keeper's arms. We're looking pretty fecked.

There has not been a manager since Sir Alex that I didn't want to give more time to when we sacked them (aside from Jose, I was ambivalent either way because I thought he wanted to go).

I'd sack Amorim tonight. I think we probably avoid relegation if we sack him. If we keep him it's 50/50 at best. He's taken a group of players most people agreed weree underperforming under Ten Hag and got them performing considerably worse. Literally only sunk cost fallacy and PSR considerations keeping him in a job.

Yes the players are at fault too but this guy has been absolutely exposed by the switch to the premier league.

Positives
- We looked good in large parts of the game
- Dominated possession in the 2nd half
- Looked confident defensively barring two miniscule moments
- Good distribution from Onana
- Hojlund looked good with his back to goal
- Dalot Offered plenty of width and attacking threat down the left
- Zirkzee looking sharp before having to come off

Negatives
- We lost
- We didn't concede many corners or set-pieces
I'm assuming this is satire

Game was done after the second goal.

They stopped playing because they knew we could not hurt them.

Hojlund should not be a starter, he has potential, but he needs time, and the more we play him, the more likely we destroy his confidence and that potential is never reached.

The zirkzee signing has to be some sort of money laundering, like antony. There isn't a footballer in either of them, and we spent what, £130 million on the pair. I'd call in the cops to investigate both of those transactions.

Casemiro needs to go in january. Pay someone to take him if we must. Use Collyer for the rest fo the season, collyer/mainoo is as good as anything we can put out at the moment anyway.

What we need, more than anything, is someone to put the ball in the net. Sign someone, or Marcus gets his big boy pants on, grows the feck up and does his job, don't care which.

Keep Amorim
Let him build his team
Get rid:-
Rashford
Martinez
Casemiro
Eriksen
Hojlund
Zirkzee
Garnacho
Dalot
Lindelof
Shaw
Malacia
Mount
I actually think Antony does a fkin job better than these

38 years following them and I've never been so disgusted in a 1st half performance in particular. Slight improvement 2nd half but that wasn't hard to be honest. Really don't know where they go from here. Probably the lowest I've felt about a squad of players ever. Fortunately I grew up in an era where I've been spoilt for success watching United. Probably just aswell because it's a long road back from here.

Second half was not as infuriating as the first. That’s about as positive as I can say.

United are just being punished with all these set-piece style goals. Goals where the extra CB should be helping not hindering them.

Newcastle appeared to at least, outrun us.

Several players are clearly not going to be here if we expect to progress. I’m looking at Onana, Martinez and Zirkzee

Yeah i wouldn't really call that "fight". Newcastle were so comfortable, they really didn't need to break much of a sweat. They literally just sat back and watch united pass the ball awkwardly, not really do much and ping long balls.
Yeah, actually, when I said ‘fight’ what I really should have said was ‘managed to find a red shirt.’

Better in the 2nd half with more possession than Newcastle and shots on goal was 7-1 to Man United but that doesn't ignore one of the worst opening 35 minutes seen by a Man United team in Old Trafford and a result which was only the 2nd home to Newcastle in Old Trafford in a league game for 50 years and first since 0-1 in 2013 under Moyes. It's also the heaviest defeat at home to the magpies since 1972 which was also 0-2.

We could very well get relegated. If you don't believe it, you're not believing what's unfolding in front of your very eyes.
I thought there might be a positive to relegation then I realised that the previous idiots in charge probably didn't put a wage decrease clause in any of our players' contracts.

We deal with crosses about as well as Dracula. Can’t defend, and offer zero going forward. Nilled for the 3rd game in a row.

Doubt we’ll see Zirkzee again either.

Same as it’s been for years now.

Lack of courage, lack of effort, lack of fight, lack of physicality, lack of confidence
It’s much worse than it’s ever been. Even worse than the Rangnick stint and as bad as the worst period under EtH.

Can someone start a relegation battle thread please?

No, I really mean it. Seriously. This is relegation form. Cannot see where our next win is going to come from.

How come the Newcastle assistant was on the touchline when he had a one match ban.

2nd half only "decent" since Newcastle relaxed and saved energy. We didnt look like scoring either. Relegation battle is near

Lost 3-0 at home to Liverpool, 3-0 to Spurs, 3-0 to Bournemouth, 2-0 to Newcastle...

Are these players not embarrassed?

Another sobering night... remember when Newcastle & Villa thought they were too big too go down? Well... 7 points away from the relegation zone and we look so far off even a midtable PL team in effort, athleticism and quality.

Martinez cause us too many games this season. He should never play for Man Utd again. Midget CB can't work in PL. He doesn't even bother to jump to defend a cross these days. He just let the attackers have free header 6 yards out.

Hard question need to be asked about whether Amorim is the right manager. We don't want to waste another 3 years and 700m. So far the team regressed under him. No improvement and no style of play.

I can't even look forward to these bunch of players winning in the Championship, they'd struggle there as well!

For anyone who thinks relegation isn't a possibility, better teams then ours have got relegated and on current form we are the worse PL team!
I don't think (not certain on it) that united will get dragged into a dog fight to stay up but if they do. They will go down. There is no fight or leadership in this team at all. The lack of leadership and lack of any type of goal scorer is a massive problem. Need to start putting some points on the board.

We need a new team, but my god we desperately need a striker in January. This is just ridiculous.

This is the worst I’ve felt about United in ages
Yes forty years a supporter I felt like crying in that first half an hour it was like watching a pub team and not a good pub team one playing forty year olds and smoking in their warm up

Complete and utter garbage from start to finish, people joke about being in a relegation battle but we’re literally in relegation form right now! We’ve lost 5 out the last six, we keep this up and the only way is down. We better all hope we find some way of doing business in January because we’re in serious need of new players to fit this system.

Big big trouble

Tell you what if we don’t change up fast we’re going to get dragged into a relegation battle. Ipswich just beat Chelsea, Wolves with a new manager getting wins

7 point could easily be 4 when we get battered off Liverpool next weekend and we don’t look to be turning it around anytime soon

Needs to put Amad back to LWB, he was much more productive there. Having Dalot and Maz on the wings is pointless when we’re shipping goals anyway.

I think its time we start asking the questions from the manager as well. Whatever wisdom he had in starting Eriksen, Cas and Zhirkee together was shocking. He literally had to change that within 30 mins. Plus by this time we must know that Dalot as LWB and Maz as RWB is not working and we have not even scored a goal since we kind of got into this 5 at the back. Its just too defensive and we keep passing side ways and backwards without even getting into any goal scoring positions, out best chances created were set pieces opportunities and gift from Schar.

The atmosphere, the spirit, the energy, all gone. This is all on Ineos

Disagree.

They're in a long list of malefactors.

Been shite for a long, long, long time. Can't just blame such an easy target. Not soli, anyway.
