Used to be us who'd be delighted if we could grind out a draw at your place, couldn't imagine the day City'd absolutely dominate for 90 minutes & United fans would be happy to get a point!

Pretty good result for us, not too awful for you, pretty bad for Liverpool.

Still undefeated!
Would have taken a 0-0 before the game so happy with that. Hopefully no injuries and I guess Fellaini will be fresh for Europe
How long will he be out?

Also can we have a gif of the Man City fans reaction to the offside goal?

Trying very hard to be calm and objective, With all the shit going on with injuries and amount of games to be played. I have to say that I am still disappointed.
Fellaini seriously needs to be laid down and have every one of his team mates kick him, as hard as they can, in the groin region.

Think if Pogba had been fit it might have been different. Either Carrick or Fellaini may not have played and Pogba is more attacking. We have a patched together side, so they fought hard. The ref didn't help either.

Atkinson was fine. Fellaini was a red, without doubt, even if Aguero baited him a bit, so what? Gotta be smarter than sticking your head in like that. Wasn't any blatant missed calls in my view, and in honestly, he let some things go to benefit the flow of the game.

United didn't come to win, so you could argue a foul or two here and there on Rashford, but what did it really matter? We came to park the bus, not win the game.

With Pogba we would have done a lot better. We had no connection from midfield.

Keep the faith.

:) It's tough. Almost 3 am and I had to listen Jim fecking Beglin and John Champion for two hours comment on a soul crushing football game featuring Marouane Fellaini and umped by one of the worst refs in football. Not easy to keep faith.

Loads of injuries, still unbeaten, a point away against another top team when down to 10 men for the last 10 minutes... yes total shit, sack Fergie and sell Giggs!

I agree to some extent, although I really doubt it would have made much difference if Pogba played.

We clearly were happy with a point and I think Jose would have set us up to counter attack (ineffectively) regardless.

Really annoyed with Fellaini too. What was he thinking? Yes Aguero dived and made an absolute 5 course meal of it, but he shouldn't be putting himself in that position in the first place.

In a way, I wish we went out looking for a win and lost.

I miss the old Man United.
Old United had games like this too.

I absolutely do not understand why the people over here are angry with our team. What a performance it was from our lads! It was so good, even Martial contributed in defending. Yes yes, attacking was non existent but the chances we had, Herrera had a free header straight at goal and missed. Fellaini did a great job to shut out Toure and Fernandinho until he did what he did best. Rashford didn't have much to do at all. Carrick was so cool. Herrera was a beast. Bailly and Blind were rocks. Valencia reliable as always. Darmian didn't mess up too much. Mikhi always kept trying. De Gea was immense in goal. With the injuries we've had this one point is a great result. No Zlatan, Pogba, Mata, Smalling, Jones and Rojo and yet City couldn't beat us. Great game imho.
Edit - Also for me, this win showed that our players are finally getting into the Never give up attitude which we had lost in transition after SAF.

Got the result we were after, not a great performance but we are missing four of our starting 11.

Take Aguero, De Bruyne, Kompany and Yaya out of the City team that played tonight and itd of been a different game.

Yes, City were the better team and probably deserved to win, however I still can't help but feel gutted.

Our attack was awful. I rate Jose a lot and think he is the man to lead us forward, but I'm really disappointed in him tonight.

He got us a draw against a team who on the day, were vastly superior to us.
How are you disappointed in Jose?
Had we gone for a win, do you think we'd have got a point?

John Champion, a PES guy!! :)

They were poor at what Pep wanted to do and we were good at Mourinho wanted to do, yes you could say we could have countered more but Mourinho clearly didn't want us to lose and in that respect he succeeded.

Mixed emotions.

The way we started, I thought we were up for this in an attacking way, some very controlled football, if not bums off seats entertaining. Second half, pleased with effort and discipline (bar Fellani - but he didn't have a bad game), but disappointed that it was safety first and a lot of hoof ball. Bit panicky. Didn't really threaten City, but then again until we were 10 men, City didn't do a great deal.

Still in our hands, but we do look knackered, particularly Rashford. He should not play against Swansea.

Ouch

You need to get a grip mate you really do.

We have the top four in our hands, a trophy in the bag and a European semi to play.

The squad is giving it's all, digging deep and running through walls for the cause at the moment. We've got Smalling Jones Rojo Mata Pogba and Zlatan injured yet we are still getting points against the so called best in the league.

It's a good result. Just think bigger.

very happy with the result.

Rubbish attacking performance and we were very lucky City were so rubbish at finishing, whilst we worked very hard as well.

He brought his head forward and made contact with agueros, aguero walked towards him and he leaned in to make contact.

That is not allowed on the pitch, definitely nt when you've just made 2 fouls.

Red card all day long hence why absolutely no one who understands the game is defending him
If Aguero doesn't go down he doesn't get sent off. Have you ever seen a head butt before?

Is it just me or did anyone else think the ref was decent today? Sure the final Fellaini was unfortunate but you could see how the ref could think it's fellaini's fault.

If you mean Rashford then yes. He had to work his bollocks off for Martial and Mkhi who were ineffective today which was a mixture of their own doing and instructions
Mickhi was non existent I agree, and when he had the ball he quickly lost it. I think Lingard should have started instead. Martial problem is that he doesnt run so much behind a defens but wants the ball at his feet most of the time.

Exactly this. The problem here is that we could have easily snatched a goal here or at Anfield and people would be talking about being a tactical master-class which would distract from the utter wrongness of such approach when you have the most expensive team in the land. This was the type of performance that even if we were winning the league, we should be criticising.

Yup, this was not counter-attacking football. This was an ultra defensive set-up to negate the opponent, which should never be acceptable at Manchester United.

Good point.

Think people forget we're only a couple of games short of a season of maximum possible games

Somebody has cursed us.

Fosu-Mensah injury
Mourinho has said post match that Timothy Fosu-Mensah sustained a serious injury at the end - a dislocated shoulder.

considering the amount of money we have spent our squad is still wild average. woodward gotta have a look at this.

I mean, we had a 36 year old, fellaini and darmian starting a game of this magnitude. rashford and martial are good talents for the future but i also don't think they should be leading the line just yet. blind isn't even a CB, and even valencia could be upgraded.

that's 6/7 out of 10 outfield players that i don't think should be in our starting 11. so yeah, squad lacks quality.

Considering the money was spent on players out injured your post is pointless

I love how surprised people are by what happened:

Ibra - main goal threat - injured
Mata - creative and goal threat - injured
Pogba - control and flair - injured
Smalling / Jones / Rojo - defensive solidarity - injured

Even with this we should have been 1-0 up at half time (funnily enough if Fellaini was at the back post it would have been buried in the net).
At Old Trafford; Aguero, Sane, Jesus, Gundogan, Toure, Kompany were all out & you had all those players you mentioned fit. Was still 60:40 possession, twice as many shots, and shots on target for City.

Not convinced that's a valid excuse; it was clearly a tactic to just put 10 men behind the ball & defend for 90 minutes.

Absolutely spot on mate.

It's nice that there're still realistic people on here.

I don't disagree with you, but our first 11 is nowhere near the highest level either if you're comparing to the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern etc.

My point was that in the league which is the competition we are talking about I feel we have one of the best squads, perhaps only matched by Chelsea but even that debateable. I personally feel with everyone for we have the strongest squad in the league.

I disagree that we have the strongest squad in the league and I wasn't talking about the "league", you were the one that framed it as. My first post was that considering the amount of money we spent, we lack quality in the squad and that woodward should have a look at it.

Good that we both agree we are lacking when it comes to the highest level.

So you want a WC starting XI and a WC back up XI? Guess, I am not the one who doesn't understand the meaning of a squad.

yes, because saying our squad lacks quality is such a ludicrous comment that infers I want a WC back up XI. don't quote or reply to me with nonsense again please.

Just our luck. So bad for him also, he gets to play finally and gets badly injured. Was it some kind of a challenge? Didn't watch the last 10 minutes. Watched the Platoon.
