A draw suited both teams. City at home and with their possession based style had more of a push to win, but we did what we needed to. Fellaini made it hard at the end, and we didn't deserve any more that a point.

Which teams in the league have stronger squads?

chelsea.

our squad is nowhere near where it needs to be to contend at the highest level, and framing it against other epl teams is quite reductive imo.

Another pathetic unambitious performance. Tony Pulis football from the most expensively assembled and well paid group of players managed by the supposedly "best manager" in the world.

Jose better win us Europa because a sixth place finish with this type of football would be utterly pointless.

Hope this was the last of Fellaini in a United shirt. Still cannot believe he plays for us.

Long for the day when United can go toe to toe with the big boys. Underdog football with our 30m Armenian Kagawa and most expensive teenage buy ever as auxiliary fullbacks is not a good color on us.
With Pogba we would have done a lot better. We had no connection from midfield.

Keep the faith.

Exactly this. The problem here is that we could have easily snatched a goal here or at Anfield and people would be talking about being a tactical master-class which would distract from the utter wrongness of such approach when you have the most expensive team in the land. This was the type of performance that even if we were winning the league, we should be criticising.

Disciplined and expected Mourinho away performance in a big game. It was little bit disappointment that we didn't able to seriously threat in the second half and that we couldn't manage to get that final ball to Rashford in a few good situations what was the main plan. Pogba was a big miss here.

But with fatigue and our injury state I will absolutely take this. Now let's beat Swansea and finally go ahead of Liverpool.

Oh, almost forget, beauty of a performance from Atkinson. We would get more fouls if Pep was with the whistle. Allowed City defense to get away with everything.

Yes, City were the better team and probably deserved to win, however I still can't help but feel gutted.

Our attack was awful. I rate Jose a lot and think he is the man to lead us forward, but I'm really disappointed in him tonight.
We missed Pogba today imo, our midfield didn't support our forwards like they should have, we couldn't even hold the ball properly.

I love how surprised people are by what happened:

Ibra - main goal threat - injured
Mata - creative and goal threat - injured
Pogba - control and flair - injured
Smalling / Jones / Rojo - defensive solidarity - injured

Even with this we should have been 1-0 up at half time (funnily enough if Fellaini was at the back post it would have been buried in the net).

Think if Pogba had been fit it might have been different. Either Carrick or Fellaini may not have played and Pogba is more attacking. We have a patched together side, so they fought hard. The ref didn't help either.

The ref yes. What the fu.ck what that? Our offensive players were getting constantly fouled when holding the ball up, mostly defender went through him and 1 in 10 foul was given?!

I am taking that 1 point gladly.

Poor man : Mkhitaryan
Stupid man : Fellaini

Eric was solid. I hope he gets a rest over the weekend. Jose has to start someone else in his place. Europa should be the main focus now.

Rashford was fouled again and again yet none were given by the inept referee. Should've put our chances to bed with Mkhitaryan and Herrera.

Not the best performance but solid defensively. We are hard to beat now.

For the American posters, Fellaini's "headbutt" was the equivalent of James Harden hooking the defender's arm while wildly flinging up a shot in the 3pt area and getting free throws for it. Aguero's head started coming up in his face while Fellaini moved down towards him. Is he just supposed to let the cheating b***h get in his face? Maybe, but easier said than done when he's intentionally trying to bait him. Can't believe how many ungrateful people turn on Fellaini after many good performances this season. Not saying we should settle for him, but he's a good squad player who's showed a lot of passion for the team.

No Ibrahimovic, no Pogba, no Mata, one senior fit specialist central defender, eighth game this month, at the Etihad, Atkinson refereeing.

And we're still unbeaten in 24.

Good result. We came with a gameplan and it worked, barring a few hairy moments (Aguero hitting the post, Jesus tapping in from offside), not to mention Fellaini's moment of madness. Might even have won it if Herrera had got that header on target at the end of the first half.

We've had less acceptable draws this season.

Decent result which gives us a chance for top 4.

Dropped points at home vs Swansea now confirmed.

We really miss Pogba!

I hope all the Pogba naysayers can see that a few times and understand the difference he alone makes to this united side.

We just lost the ability to counterattack or hold on to the ball in midfield.

Not a head butt in a million years. Fellaini fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book.

Was as clear a headbutt as there is.. Didn't matter what Arguero did Fellaini headbutted him

I'm so fed up with people saying falling on the floor and pretending to be hurt is part of the game. It's blatant cheating and needs to stop, whether it's a United player diving or not it's needs removing out the game not just accepting it. I don't know why we can't give players a 3 game ban if there caught diving or cheating after the game.
He brought his head forward and made contact with agueros, aguero walked towards him and he leaned in to make contact.

That is not allowed on the pitch, definitely nt when you've just made 2 fouls.

Red card all day long hence why absolutely no one who understands the game is defending him

Pretty sure City's first 11 would have cost more than ours. And they're at home. And they didn't get a red card.

I don't disagree with you, but our first 11 is nowhere near the highest level either if you're comparing to the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern etc.

My point was that in the league which is the competition we are talking about I feel we have one of the best squads, perhaps only matched by Chelsea but even that debateable. I personally feel with everyone for we have the strongest squad in the league.

FFS, Mourinho just said in his post match that TFM is really injured.

Yet another team who can't beat us, even with the referees help.

What did he say?

Summed up the game well without being a dick, gave respect to our young attackers saying they're rapid but lack of experience. However, in a few years with experience they'll be very good.

Then defended Fellaini by saying they're team mates regardless of blue or red (Belgium internationals). Didn't comment on the incident though.

We missed Pogba today imo, our midfield didn't support our forwards like they should have, we couldn't even hold the ball properly.

I agree to some extent, although I really doubt it would have made much difference if Pogba played.

We clearly were happy with a point and I think Jose would have set us up to counter attack (ineffectively) regardless.

Really annoyed with Fellaini too. What was he thinking? Yes Aguero dived and made an absolute 5 course meal of it, but he shouldn't be putting himself in that position in the first place.

In a way, I wish we went out looking for a win and lost.

I miss the old Man United.
