Fantastic display and great attitude after their initial goal.

Fecking United twitter omitted Young out of the MOTM nominations (put Mata, Fellaini and Herrera instead).
It was Mickey Thomas on the radio commentary that chose them. Even I was surprised Young was missed out. They were all MOTM's to me.

First 10-15 min belong to city, remaining match belong to us.
With leading going into half time, there is no chance that city could win this,we stayed with our game plan and our guys deserve lot of credit.
If I'm not wrong, this was the first time in the season in our home games that we conceded first and still managed to win.

Genuinely satisfied with that performance.

Thought we were gonna get caned in the run up to their goal, then they scored and I was convinced, they were getting in between and behind our defence every time they attacked.

Then we got the break with the goal and we were incredible ever since.

When was the last time we played that well in a derby? First half of the 3-2 at Eastlands? Even under SAF we struggled to play that well against them.

Can't believe it is essentially almost the same players last season in the lineup plus Herrera and blind. This shows coach and "philosophy" is very important. Imagine if we would have sack van gaal when the fans got a bit impatient in the mid season.

It's just not the result for me, it's the display, the courage, the cojones that made this match so great to watch. Specially after a tough start.

Excellent performance. LVG has got the most out of your players that werent performing last season.

ADM and Falcao? You didnt need them. Just someone to get Mata, Fellaini and Young into form.

Young
Fellaini
Mata
Smalling

4 players who have had their fair share of problems this season.

Shame the match had to be played out with ten men, but when you feel a little disappointed with a 4-2 scoreline, you know times are good.

Best performance of the season as far as I can remember. In fact, probably the best for a few years. The movement between herrera, mata, fellaini, young and carrick was just stunning at times.

Agree, the lads showed a lot of character today.

Fantastic game, absolute domination in the end:

Manchester United - Passes - All
428 out 520 successful

Manchester city - Passes - All
270 out 377 successful

Manchester United - Manchester City Possession
58,6% 41,4%
Summerbee doesnt like this.

Anyone doubting Van Gaal ?

Can the people who advocated a Van Gaal out please raise their finger now ?

Electrifying result, dont really care about their goals. It was a convincing display in a City derby. When was the last time you could say that. Buzzing.

As Neville said, I don't think they realised United were down to ten men.

So what was Pellegrini doing then?

So, so bizarre. Even when Aguero scored, he just stood there basking in his own awesomeness like a right knob.

Terrible attitude from the players and if the manager wasn't doing anything about their attitude after the goal then he might as well just hand in his notice come the morning.

Great performance and attitude from the players, we're really playing like team now.

Amazing day, no complaints.

Just proves they're bunch of mercenaries.

It shows how good this team can play under the influence of an excellent manager that RvP, Falcao and Di Maria can barely get a game (based on the assumption RvP won't automatically start when he's fit). We could build something very special for next season. So happy. Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini not only have they both proved us wrong but they have been unplayable, integral to our recent successes. Thrilled.

Get in!!! I'm so aroused

I'm yet to see or meet a city fan here in India.
I only know one or two. The guy who sent me the snap is Thai so he started supporting them when Thaksin Shinawatra bought the club.

The game was so one-sided and Carrick was like "That's it, lads. I'm outta here."

Hope he's ok :(

We are on the verge of something special IMO, it's all clicking. I am so happy!

Also, i put £125 on United to win to return £312.50 this is a truly great day. to the bluemoon thread...

Falcao most probably won't stay and Di Maria will be fine next year.

Excellent performance and great reaction after going behind early. Shame we conceded at the end, I thought 5-1 would've been a fairer result!

The last month or so you can actually see what we're trying to do, something which has been absent since Fergie left. Even when we conceded today we still seemed to be working towards something, albeit badly at the time.
Yes, and for me what was most heartening was that the lads sorted it out themselves without anyone from the bench having to shout out instructions

Let us spare a thought for an optimistic City fan...
 Clueless.

Remember a few saying city's seiling is higher than ours, well today's performance showed we can now competing with our rivals again. City hate possession teams, and united strangled the life out of city by the shear terror of our triangle passing. Fergie said when he faced barcelona, when you are on the carousel, it is hard to get off it, and we did that to city today

Thought I'd have a look on Blue Moon "We are currently experiencing a spike in traffic. Access is temporarily restricted to register users."

I've got an account, utter, utter meltdown. It's beautiful.

Most satisfying result of the year. Thought we were in for trouble when Aguero first scored but we kept composure and took charge of the game, something that would've been unimaginable last year. Was also far better than our last performances against City under SAF.

Herrera was simply a machine the entire game, constantly giving our players an outlet and throwing us forward. Mata gave a world class performance and Felliaini, after doing little in the first few minutes, started imposing himself and City really couldn't cope with him. Young was tremendous.

It's hard to write about negatives after this kind of performance but I will just mention that Blind IMO is not suited to playing LB against pacey sides (or maybe even in general). He links up very well with Young and Fellaini but he simply isn't fast enough to cover the entire wing. Valencia was also plodding around with no defensive awareness in the first half and could've cost us dearly. Good second half, though.

Inspiring game for the club.

Well played gentleman, thoroughly excellent performance was extremely impressed. Hopefully this gives us a little hole to poke our noses in.
