PL W FA Premier League

Manchester United 4:2 Manchester City

Post-match discussion

Sun, 12 April 2015

The last time City conceded 4 in all competitions was 12/13 in the League Cup against Villa.

Before that? Our 4-3 win over them in 09/10.

4 goals against these twats is a great accomplishment, it just shows how much we've grown this season. Absolutely battered them.

Superb game of football. Only downside for me was sitting back at 4-1 and allowing that Aguero goal.

Brilliant game. Hopefully Carrick is fine for next week, he's huge for us. A shame they scored at the end, 4-2 really flatters City.

Great win, but I'd be thoroughly ashamed of my team if I was a City fan. No fight whatsoever, they gave up after 40min.

So dam happy for LVG. Been a huge supporter of his and we just beat City, the Champions (ugh) 4 - 2. We have the toughest run in of all the top teams and yet we are chalking them off. I said a few weeks ago I thought we would do well against the top teams...so far so good. The players are responding to him and believing in him, you can see it from the performances. After last year with Moyes, individually they are starting to believe in themselves again, because the talent was always there, it's how you extract it that is the skill. Well done LVG

Absolute great result!!! Loving this run of form! Young and Fellaini were brilliant throughout, among others. Shame about the late City goal. Hope Carrick injury isn't serious.

The best football we have played in 6 years IMO, fantastic to watch and very effective. Other than the blip of Aguero's 2nd goal we dominated that game and simply looked like we had more desire and team spirit than them even before you get down to the better quality of our team play.

I'm particularly pleased by our reaction to going a goal down. City were all over us and we could've easily crumbled. But we fought back and in the end embarrassed them.

I'm still genuinely baffled by City at the end, mind you.

They need two goals to clinch a draw and they're walking around as if the game is over.

Genuinely disgusting and I'd be furious if I'd paid good money to watch that game. I was a City fan, of course.

Let us spare a thought for an optimistic City fan...

Seriously, can't see anything other than a City win. Unless you park the bus for 90 minutes, but I don't see that happening do you?
Form means very little going into these games, as history has shown us.

I am confident of a City win, not because of my blue tinted specs (though tinted they are), but because City tend to win unless one of two things happen:

A) the opponents park the bus and we press and press and start to play higher and higher up the pitch and then we get caught out on the break, often with comedy defending on our part. Or,

B) we are totally outclassed and overrun in midfield and can hardly get hold of the ball. Particularly when Yaya can't be arsed on the day.

I don't see A or B happening. (A), you won't be parking the bus and a fast, open and expansive game plays right into our hands. And (B) because Yaya will most definitely be up for it. A midfleld four of Yaya, Fernandino, Silva and Nasri (or Navas) will be enough to keep you lot busy. And we may very well play 5 in the middle anyway with Silva as the attacking mid behind Aguero. Either way, you aren't going to keep us off the ball for most of the game, which you would need to do.

Therefore I predict a City win. City usually win if A or B doesn't happen.

Fecking United twitter omitted Young out of the MOTM nominations (put Mata, Fellaini and Herrera instead).

Fantastic result! Three great wins in a row and we are scoring heavily against the top sides. Just hope that M Caz is not out after he had to come off.

Feck you City, you would be nothing without little cunny agooaero

Are you watching Liverpool...

Hope pool don't scrape fourth place though now.

Glory Glory Man United!

That was wonderful viewing. I take back everything I ever said bad towards Fellaini and Young, they were both outstanding!

All. Over. Them.

We look like a proper team now. Not perfect, but full of belief and working for eachother. And comfortable on the ball.

Fantastic game, absolute domination in the end:

Manchester United - Passes - All
428 out 520 successful

Manchester city - Passes - All
270 out 377 successful

Manchester United - Manchester City Possession
58,6% 41,4%

LVG really needs to stop the fecking shit of bringing Rooney down to central midfield and bringing Di Maria and Falcao on. We lose all control and it becomes all gung ho which is the last thing you want when you want to secure a win.

Idiot. You needed to find something to moan about, you do know that Carrick went off injured, right?

I am so pleased! What a difference a year makes and a WC manager! I can't actually think of words to say! Great team effort!

Really hope Carrick is ok. If he is fit I honestly think we can batter Chelsea next week with this set up. If not I wont be confident with Blind in the Middle.

What a day. Slaughter them. Should've had six, Youngie's header and the goalmouth scramble...

Liverpool done, City done. They were laughing only a month ago. Shut up now though!

PS) hope Carrick's alright
PPS) So easy we played 10 minutes with 10 men

As Neville said, I don't think they realised United were down to ten men.

We'd have won the league if not for 9 points dropped against Swansea and Leicester

LVG out!
