Need: pace, dynamism, dribbling and direct runs to draw fouls and commit players... so Jose does the complete opposite and brings down two slow attackers who are going to be easily contained instead of our one player who can do these things.

We're disjointed in attack and have no go-to method of play outside of hoofball to fall back on. The lack of a proper (non hoof) plan b is doing just as much damage to us as our poor attacking from the outset.

We make below average teams look far better than they are because we play into their hands far too often.

It would be great if this game led to some fundamental changes in the way Jose approaches games, but I won't hold my breath.

Mourinho made the biggest mistake since taking over as United manager. That is playing Rooney. A total waste of the substitution. He did not contribute anything at all. Rooney should follow Gary Neville and quit United immediately for China. Not buying Lindorf is another problem United has, as Jones is going to be injured for another long period. Smalling is always nervous and not good with the ball at his feet. I am not sure why Rashford got to play instead of Martial. Martial skill and decision making is much better than Rashford who is quite lazy and bad in his decision. Too much changing of the lineup to make players happy is costing United the fourth place in the Premier league.
