I feel like shit. One step forward and two fecking steps back.
First half was awful. We can't always think we're going to step up the pace in the second half and get a goal. We should be at it from the off. That's the reason we didn't win. For some reason, people in our team think it's ok to play in second gear because we're playing against Hull. Not fecking good enough, especially from a team searching for that top four spot.
That said, based on the second half, we should have won the game. We had two clear cut chances in Rashford and Mata's chance. It's just a shame that every keeper that seems to come to O.T has a fecking worldy all the time.
Despite us creating chances, I do think we introduced the wrong players; however. To me, this wasn't a game for Mata or Rooney, albeit the former nearly getting on the scoresheet.
Hull were very compact. We needed pace and width. We had to move the ball across the pitch. Stretch them and tire them out. Everything we did was very short. It was easy for Hull to move across as a team. Very predictable, at times, and our only outlet was Valencia, and maybe Rashford at times. Was very confused as to why Martial, or even Lingard weren't used. Not saying I know better than Mourinho, but to me, it's not rocket science to have pace and width against a very compact team. I mean, even when we tried to counter we couldn't. There was an example when Mata had the ball, where we could have possibly countered and he turned back. 1) because he didn't have the pace to run with it like say a Martial would do 2) because he had Rooney and Ibra ahead of him.
Really really pissed off. That was yet another game we should be walking away with three points, yet we always find a way of fecking things up.
