PL D FA Premier League

Everton 1:1 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Sun, 04 December 2016

Today the subs cost us.

Rashford should have indeed come on, but for Ibra to play them on the counter attack. Martial put a real shift in defensively today so why he was the one to get replaced I don't know.

Fellaini, is fricking Fellaini. The big oaf cnut

Eh?
I saw the interview and that is not what happened.
Jose refused to comment regarding the refereeing decisions or on Fellani's performance but he answered all other questions.

Post match press conference....

I just don't like this emphasis on defending the lead first, rather than adding to it. We don't even set up to counter very well, Ibra should've been brought off for Rashford very early if that's our intention.

I don't want to see that tree on for Man Utd ever again, Jose. Sort your life out.

how is Fellaini any better than Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger?

He's not intelligent enough and the only thing he had going for him during his Everton days (chest control) he failed to retain at United.

That's right. Let's keep sacking managers whenever things aren't going our way.

Who do we hire next? Pochettino? What happens when he goes through a bad patch, sack him too? Who do we go for after him?

Our issues are deeper than just the manager. Jose, like Van Gaal before him, doesn't trust our players to win a match so turns to negative tactics when we have a small goal advantage.

It's backfired again today but sacking a manager isn't the answer here. Let him build a side he can trust and rely on.
That's all well and good. I also want to give Mourinho all the time he needs. But he keeps bringing on Fellaini. That to me says we have yet again a problem with our manager in the sense of him actually being a simpleton.

We got exactly what we deserved, again.
We have a mentally weak squad that is far from capable of holding onto 1-0 leads, why Mourinho still tries to have us defend a 1-0 lead with 30min to go i will never know,it backfires again and again.
Weak as feck performance from the team and manager and its disappointing as hell.

Top 4 is gone now,in fecking december!

And Fellaini, the fecking donkey should be shipped out in January.

He's losing the plot.

José just walked out of the post match presser after ONE question.

Only a matter of time before he loses the team.
Why write this if it didn't happen?

Thanks for clearing this up for people who haven't seen the post match interview.

Edit: my mistake as I didn't read the last page.

I'm happy with the way the team is playing personally, we look like we're becoming a proper side. We've definitely had some bad luck and we've made some mistakes too. Sometimes you make a mistake and get away with it, yet it feels for us like every mistake is game-defining. Today looked like it was going to be a good away performance and victory, yet one mistake cost us three points. It's just so frustrating.

The road to success isn't smooth, you cannot just buy a couple of players and instantly be brilliant. It's a slow process of improvement and ironing out mistakes but Jose seems to be getting it right for the most part with the hand he's been dealt. If we miss out on Europe next season it'll play in to our favour like it has with Liverpool and Chelsea this year.

Mourinho looks chronically fed up. Compare that post-match interview to Klopp's and it's night and day.

To be fair, we were toothless this game. Didn't deserve to win. And with a manager who has no balls to make the necessary changes, we're not going to get anywhere.

I'm really close to giving up on this club.

Moyes... Van Gaal... Mourinho. Same shit, different name.

Done with this shit.

Cool. cheers then. feck off and support Chelsea.

Even if we had a mentally strong squad, I don't know why you would still try to close up shot on a 1-0 game when you have Ibra, Martial, Mkhitarian, Pogba, and Herrera as our attacking players. There is more than enough quality to get a second. I could understand if you're a relegation side or a side like Stoke that don't get very many goals. With that much quality, I would rather see the game go 1-1 after we've tried getting a second instead of sitting back and waiting for them to finish a chance.

This looked especially bad because Everton, even when they could get deep into our own territory, didn't look the least bit effective.

Hmm...it is actually.. And that was the same stick we used to beat Moyes and LVG with.

Everyone in here could see that goal coming miles away. If Jose sees that players lack composure, make subs which will change it and be proactive about it. The game was calling out for a sub from us around the 60 minute mark. The subs were too late and if not for DDG, the goal would have come irrespective of Fellaini.

Mou fecked up big with the subs, but you can't safeguard against clumsy fouls.

That does not change the fact that we were dire from 60 min onwards and that goes for pretty much everyone. The fact that people seem to turn on Mouhrino is pathetic imo. Should we sack him and do the dance all over again?

If Jose put Fellaini on in an attempt to "Shop Window" him, he's just knocked 50% off his value.

Looks like we'll only get a fiver for him now. :(

You want to play counter when one up away from home against Everton. Why the hell would you then bring on Fellaini when you want to try hold onto the ball and play out of defence? Surely Blind would have been a better option. This is on Jose i'm afraid. Idiotic decision. Otherwise we weren't too bad, but we are weak, and that will take time to change.

This should really be the Chicharito moment for Fellaini.
Only that Jose did not have Giggs to look at.

I think we are entering the stage where you have to think, its not working with JM,
this can't be bad luck, we are fecking defending for 20 min with no purpose to counter-attack,
I wan't to give time to JM, but if this is his tactic then we need to think very hard for future.

We are awful. Mourinho is a coward not going for the kill when we was clearly there for the taking. Gueye the only player with anything about him.

No Mata today? Nobody has made a comment about why our best performer didn't play at all.

This was a decent away performance at a really tough ground. Fans expect us to come here and smash them 5-0 or something, we controlled this game and it was primed to be a solid away win and blew it by bringing on one of our worst ever players.
Read a lot of replies on here but you pretty much nailed it. Everton haven't lost a home game all season in the league. Always a difficult place to go, even in Fergies last season when we cruised to the title, we lost at Goodison. Herrera had a golden opportunity to make it 2-0 when he sliced it and hit the bar. The one mistake Mourinho made was bringing on Fellaini, who is dire. I really hoped this guy would be sold last Summer. He's just a connection with everything that has gone wrong with United, a truly shite player that seems to hypnotize every United boss into thinking he's a good player. SELL HIM FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sack Jose? Already?

FECK OFF FELLANI, YOU feckING cnut!!! YOU ARE A WORTHLESS FECKING PLAYER...YOU OFFER NOTHING TO THE
TEAM BESIDES THAT SHITE TODAY.....HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME MUPPET AND FECK OFF BACK TO EVERTON...HOW DO cnuts LIKE THIS NOT GET SOLD??? HES AN ABSOLUTE TOOL. YOU feckING cnut, FECK OFF!!!!!!

Once that caveman gave Everton a peno, we were never going to score....Poga was shite, Rashford was being wasted on the left again....no creativity on the pitch at that point....those subs were shite. We didn't do a whole lot during the match, everyone was just avg...Everton were never going to make it easy...but that should of been a win...and we were lucky not to be down to ten men..Rojo should of been sent off. Mourinho needs to sell off all the deadwood from the club....get a player who can come on in the end and kill off a game properly....unlike that ape.

It takes a special amount of ineptitude to find a way to give away winning positions as frequently as United does.

This collection of players, as a whole, doesn't live up to the United pedigree. It's as simple as that. If it hadn't been Fellate-me today, someone else would've found a way to dick it up. This team just isn't good enough to compete with the 'new' top 5.

Can't blame Fellaini really, we were hardly deserving of the win - we sat back for the last half hour hoping Everton would be shit, and Rojo should have been sent off in the first half for that shocking tackle..

Sure, Everton away isn't an easy game, but we were dull and slow and without any real thought from start to finish. The front three were crap, the midfield chased the game and the defence was acceptable.

Really disappointing.
