PL D FA Premier League

Everton 1:1 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Sun, 04 December 2016

What really kills ATM is that Jose, the great genius, marginalized Schweinsteiger but insists on playing Fellaini game after game. Schweinsteiger could never show up to practice and he would still be 100 times the player that Fellaini is.

Mourinho the coward will lead us to nothing. Get him the feck out
That's right. Let's keep sacking managers whenever things aren't going our way.

Who do we hire next? Pochettino? What happens when he goes through a bad patch, sack him too? Who do we go for after him?

Our issues are deeper than just the manager. Jose, like Van Gaal before him, doesn't trust our players to win a match so turns to negative tactics when we have a small goal advantage.

It's backfired again today but sacking a manager isn't the answer here. Let him build a side he can trust and rely on.

What did Jones (MOTM) or Rojo do wrong? Rojo should’ve been off, but our centre back pairing was really good today, once again.
Got to agree with this post, Jones played very well and Rojo was good apart from the shocker of a tackle, although I think it will be Rojo who makes way for Bailly, I reckon Jones/Bailly is looking like being Mourinho's preferred pairing. I can't see why he would play Darmian at LB over Blind though.

I'm not in the habit of beratting United players but Agent Fellaini can do one. It beggars the question, with all of his hugging and kissing of the Everton players before the game had started, why, in the name of all that is good, pure and holy in the world, would you sub on Marouanne fecking Fellaini, when BFS and Schneiderlin are absolutely begging for minutes and are substantially better footballers. I cannot believe this oaf is a Manchester United player. The thought utterly sickens me. Worst substitution in the history of substitutions.

Jose, with all his supposed brilliance, must surely have learned his lesson regards Fellaini's distinct lack of footballing ability and thus never allows this moron to pull on a United shirt again. In fact, if I were Jose I would be initiating a formal investigation in to Fellaini's actions today. Either that or outright cancelling his contract for gross missconduct or severe negligence of duties. Get him out of our club at the next available opportunity. Don't care how or why, just get it done.

Fecking furious.

Mourinho is pissed in the post match interview. He knows the press is going to come down hard on him

On FM17 on the mobile I sold Fellaini for about £1m. It was like winning the fecking lottery

I can't understand subs today.

First of all, bringing Rashford insteas of Martial. I thought this was defensively the best game Martial had in our shirt. He was excellent on the left, helping Darmian to close down left side. On the other hand Zlatan could not move his leg or run more then 5 yards, he could not hold a ball for one second in last 30 minutes. He was obviously tired and just stood around like tree for most of the second half. This is normal. He is 35 years old, and played full 90 minutes couple of days ago. Unfortunately, for some weird reasons it looks like it is forbidden to sub him off. What I would do is bring Rashford instead of Zlatan, to press their defensive line. Marcus would run for those 30 minutes, attack them on their half and certainly offer more on counters when you try to pass behind CB's. So, why the hell Mourinho never even try that? He did not try that not once in this 20 games or so, Zlatan just have to play for 90 minutes for some reason and that means that in last 20 or 30 we are playing with one player less which could be the reason why we are conceding in last minutes and defending with more players in last minutes.

Mikhi was maybe tired, although he did not have someone to play with as Zlatan did not move like striker in last 30 minutes, or did not move at all. But, OK, I understand that you wanted to add someone who can defend better then Mikhi in last 5 minutes. But I can't understand Fellaini. Did he ever win some header in our box in last minutes of the game. All I knew as soon as I saw him coming in, is that he will do some fouls, hopefully in the midfield. Unfortunately, the tree was for some reason in our box and shit happened. Obviously, we all knew that will happen. As soon as you him in our shirt, you know something bad will happen. If he is in the box, then you know what can that be. What managers see in him is beyond me. I would understand if Mou brought in Blind or Bailly for example in last minutes instead of Mikhi. I would not like it, but I would understand. I can't understand this, and this is happening in every game.

I am so frustrated right now. We have been pretty solid in first 65 minutes. Zlatan did not do much but he scored a goal. Pogba was OK< but I expect more from him. What I don't like is that he is always trying to find solution that is more difficult. His decision time is pretty slow and could be better. Others OK, even defensively, and especially midfield was very good in first 65 minutes. Then we did all wrong, staying back and waiting for bad things to happen.

Shouldn't have made any subs. We had the best team we could have fielded out there, and we were in control. We didn't really have anyone on the bench who could change the game how we needed. Everton were pushing but not causing any real problems.

Martial was doing a great job on the left, especially defensively. Rashford was obviously not going to get in to the game. If he comes on, he has to come on for Ibra and be a threat on the counter so Everton can't overcommit. Instead he's wide left and defending much poorer than Martial was.

Fellaini is not the man to come on and protect a lead. He fouls, he's clumsy, he lacks composure and discipline, he doesn't really play any particular position. He's just there. It was Jose's Mikel substitution, but Fellaini is the anti-Mikel. Horrendous sub. Should have seen it out with what we had.

We actually played really well. Great intensity. Credit to Everton, they played their pants off. Oh and sell Fellaini
Some sanity amongst the cries for sacking our manager.

I agree. We will get there.

Rome wasn't built in a day. We have been playing some good stuff of late.

The results will come.

No we didn't. I'm just amazed how many aimless clears we do the last 30 minutes when we have a lead. That's what mid level teams do.

Mick looked good the first half that's the positive I got for the match.

I'm souring on Ibra for the many times he loses the ball. Better in the 2nd half but if he had been sharp earlier we could have gone 2 up.

Gazza said it best. The team is just not up to standard in mentality and ability. Its really that simple. We have definately improved, but not enough.

I know its unpopular to say, but the likes of Herrera, Rojo, Darmian, Rooney and even Mata are just not up to standard. Not to mention the obvious ones like Fellaini. These are the constants in us finishing no higher than fourth place the last 3 seasons.

Until we change or get rid, we will always be held back and kept at this standard. Mourinho has his work cut out ahead of these transfer windows.

Every second match, Jose builds up hope. Hope that we are going to be back on tract. That we are finally going to win PL games. Then suddenly all that hope is crushed.

I thought Utd weren't bad against Everton. Sure it wasn't Utd of a few years back but ye looked solid at the back, industrious in midfield. Up front I was struggling to see ye score. Herrera was unlucky. Ibrahimovic and Rojo were lucky to stay on the pitch. Fellaini should never have got on the pitch. Strange substitution by Jose. Schweinsteiger seemed the more sensible option. Two moments of daftness created the scoring opportunities for both sides. Thought Everton were workmanlike nothing more.
I still think have faith in Jose. Ye're not losing many games and with more firepower up front there is the basis there for a good team.

I agree with you on not sacking managers, but giving Jose a pass on negative tactics because he doesn't trust the players is bullshit.

Our second XI is better than Liverpool's first, but Klopp trusts them to play football.

I would prefer to see us lose the odd game 4-3 to counter attacks while playing daring football every day of the week.

Jose knows United expect attacking football. Cowardice like today is unacceptable. I don't want to see managers sacked but there's also no point in persisting with them if they can't see the simplest of things dancing around in front of their face.

Top 4 from league route is looking very tough now. Normally, a draw at Goodison, with average performance would have been decent point but with our previous draws and conceding so late again makes it shit. Well, roll on the Europa!

To be fair, we were toothless this game. Didn't deserve to win. And with a manager who has no balls to make the necessary changes, we're not going to get anywhere.

I'm really close to giving up on this club.

Moyes... Van Gaal... Mourinho. Same shit, different name.

Done with this shit.

How can you give up on the club that you love? impossible I'm afraid. You're stuck with us for life.

We weren't great today, certainly not as good as we've been in previous weeks, but I still felt we were the better team. Up until the 70th minute, I didn't really feel like Everton were going to trouble us.

Unfortunately, it was a mistake by us that allowed Everton to get back into the game. It happens, but it's starting to happen too often now.

"We were best team on the pitch by far and it is a result that doesn't reflect the difference of the performances of both teams."

Mourinho

He is deluded
You seem to have an anti Mourinho agenda. As well as constantly slating our talented youngsters like Rashford.

Do you not think we were ok today? Can you remember MANY poor performances at Goodison under Fergie?

How would you fix all of this if you owned the club?

He's losing the plot.

José just walked out of the post match presser after ONE question.

Only a matter of time before he loses the team.

He just looks absolutely fed up with football/life. Can't be very motivating for the players.

We hit the post and dominated up until the end of game.

I can't remember Stek having to make 1 save?
We deserved to win vs Arsenal, Stoke and Burnley but not today. Mourinho tries to build it up like everyone and every luck is against us, it is very easy to see through it. Everton also had the better chances.

The only silver lining, is that perhaps Jose has finally learnt his lesson, regarding Fellaini.
If Jose did not learn his lesson, then I don't know what to think.

Eh?
I saw the interview and that is not what happened.
Jose refused to comment regarding the refereeing decisions or on Fellani's performance but he answered all other questions.
