Besides the dropped points, I can't even enjoy the fact Liverpool lost today. Would be nice to go one week without feeling let down by the team

What is that Cantona song United fans keep singing at every game - home or away? It is fecking infuriating. Those songs of long gone glories can wait when the team is winning 3-0 or something. Against West Ham in the league too when United were fired up and had them on the ropes, instead of urging the players on, they kept singing the Cantona song.

If it isn't a Cantona song but instead is some song to motivate the players, I am going to have some serious egg on my face. fecking furious with today's result, a snapshot of everything that is wrong with the club.

I think our away fans are incredible but personally I'm not mad on the singing songs for players who are no longer here. Sure it's nice that they remember them and all that but it does nothing for the current crop of players we have here. Each to their own though.

I'm just tired. There was a guy who said he broke his TV. I'm long over that period where I was angry and pissed as hell and wanted to brake everything and everyone around me. Last 3 years and this one has made me so goddamn tired of United and games like this.
Not in the sense I'm giving up on the club but it happens over and over again.

Today we should have killed the game before that dreaded sub of Fellaini but didn't. Just hope Mourinho realized Fellaini should be gone from the club.

I'm tired.

That song is sang every year around Christmas. So there's an egg on your face.

Still showing off his ego and refusing to see our shortcomings. If not for the goalie's gaffe the score would have still been 0-0 despite our apparent domination of the game. Fellaini was a disaster waiting to happen, and even if we brought Rashford on for Mkhi we would have won the game. Or even Schweinsteinger since he can pass and keep the ball.

12 Cantona's is a Christmas tradition though and has been around for a lot longer than many fans by the sounds of it. Complaining about it is rather daft and also shows a lack of understanding of the club and history imho, especially as it has been sung every single game from November to January every year for the last 20 years.

This is exactly how I feel to. 3 and a half years of mediocrity has taken it's toll on me and I certainly don't get the same fuzz when United are playing as I used to.

Today I felt a little fuzz how you say, after a West Ham result. Few beers helped, as well as Liverpool result. Didn't watch last 10 minutes, couldn't. Then i turned the game back on, saw Fellaini and was like what's happening. Next thing was Baines converting a pen. I just changed a channel and felt numb. And tired. I can't get furious anymore.

I like the Cantona chant because it is only sung around the festive period. It's more the viva Ronaldo and yip Jaap Stam ones that irk me a bit. I'm not complaining about it and I do have an understanding of the clubs history, I've attended many matches and supported the club for long enough to understand, it's just a personal preference.

The last guy was the inly one not shitting himself. Pathetic how grown men are stuttering because a fifty year old man is throwing a tantrum for being shit.

If I was there I'd massacre Mourinho and pummel him with uncomfortable questions.

I was watching the game with my friend. I said around the 60 minute mark how I don't like where things are going and that if United goes defensive they would concede. And sure enough they did. Around the 70th minute mark I told him I want Mata in instead of Carrick as I wanted Mata to ensure we have more possession and I wanted to chase the second goal. Well, we all know what happened. I don't like that Mourinho starts defending with the slim 1:0 lead because the more chances you give away to the opposision the more likely they punish you and I sure as hell didn't like the Fellaini substition. Just stupid. He is clumsy defensively and it's always risky to defend with him. Could've put Mata in to chase another or Schweinsteiger just to keep possession. It was very predictable. Not just because of what happened before.
This could actually make or break our season. Had we won, we still could've chased Liverpool. Now it doesn't look as good.

Silver lining here, no chance Fellaini ever plays again IMO. Maybe just wishful thinking, who knows with Jose, he might stick with him just to stick it to the critics but realistically, this practically ensures Fellaini won't play again. I hope, I hope.

I never suggested otherwise, and it wasn't really you the reply was aimed at.

Ban him.

Play Mata at No 10 and goals will flow

I agree. Pogba just doesn't do it for me as a number 10 in 433. His future is at number 8 IMO. Box to box midfielder.
He can still get to those sweet spots outside the box where he can use a bit of magic and score from long distance.

Agreed, Pogba hasn't looked good as a no 10 IIRC and looks much more comfortable in CM. Mata on the other hand has been our most consistent performer this year and makes everything tick a lot better in MF.

Hope Mata is back and Pogba plays CM vs Spurs

If I know Mourinho, Fellaini will face a long, long spell on the sideline

I said to myself before the game I'd settle for a draw in a wumming manner. When the game started I thought feck this we'll beat these. Then when the match ended I just thought that all these times when I wind people up, including myself about settling for a draw, I am sub consciously correct.
We are shite and have been since Fergie left. I guess I am guilty of failing to accept that we are not the same club we once were. I've always said to myself everything will be ok. It has now dawned on me that our club is at a dangerous period in time. One more season without champions league football combined with an unsuccessful transfer window and we could seriously be fecked.
Having said that we will not do a Leeds.

I bloody well hope so. I still feel we are close, but we need to stop bringing Fellaini on. I actually kind of don't mind the big guy (or at least don't dislike him the way many do,) but enough is enough. We need to keep our best players on the pitch, and for me that means getting Mata on, either as a starter or a sub who can bring a measure of calm and control, exactly what today's second half performance was calling out for. I actually quite liked our starting 11; they just didn't play particularly well (Pogba being the obvious example, but Carrick and Herrera weren't that sharp either.)

Way this season has been going, play well in midweek, can't score more then 1 in the weekend. Watch us score 3+ on Thursday then draw 1-1 with Spurs on Sunday

This is actually quite likely. Though our away form is pretty bad.

Got what we deserved. Instructed to play like a bag of dicks, played like a bag of dicks, and ended up looking like a bag of dicks. We're fecking clueless.

We'll probably do the opposite now given our league season already looks finished. We'll crash out of the Europa and then go and beat Spurs.

Psychology is important here. Defending a 1-0 lead in the last phase of the game by sitting deep is more likely to be succesful at home than away IMO.

Yeah ... no.

Siege mentality is Mourinhos magic trick for success, and it's been found out. He's really nothing special tactically.

At the end of the day if you appoint a Hodgson and a Gerrard Houllier as manager to save money for the club then you are asking for trouble. Appointing Moyes and Van Gaal was the equivalent of Man Utd bending over and saying 'We can't stop winning so can someone please destroy our arseholes with a hard plastic sex toy so that it can be a level playing field again.' Shame on Fergie for appointing Moyes instead of a Klopp or a Conte. Poor Jose is going to need 2 more transfer windows to fix the footballling anal rape from the previous two bluffers
Wow... you seemed to be enjoying that far too much

Quite enjoyed the game today, perversely. We are a completely different outfit compared to the last two seasons. Much more entertaining to watch and it's pretty clear to see that there is a really good team evolving here.

This poor league run is simply part of the evolution, and Mourinho will be learning a lot about the squad, but I think we have a lot of good things to be confident about.

The good -
Jones reminding us that he is actually a really good centre half in recent weeks.

Hunger to win the ball back. It happens all over the pitch now pretty much all game.

Mkhi. Just oozes class. He might well become the best player in this league

The bad -
Darmian, Rojo, Fellaini. Not good enough for this team. Doubt any of them will survive the summer.

The Other -
Zlatan. Keeps scoring but he makes a shit load of unforced errors. I can't decide whether to be pleased with him or not, but I don't think it's fair to him to make him play 90 mins every single game. This is a demanding league.

Carrick. Finding a top class player for his position is our number one priority, closely followed by a striker. Then we challenge for the title.

I guess when I mentioned the 'hard plastic sex toy' part there was always going to be one or two fans aggressively turned on by that part. I am sorry for turning you on by mentioning that part. My bad.
