How can you love and hate something with equal measure?

I’m getting too old for this shit.

How long before Amorim has to start to take some criticism for not being able to get anything out of this squad? I like him a lot but I really expected us to be playing better in this formation by now irrelevant of the players.

This was on the manager. You discovered that Mainoo was good higher up the pitch and you played him as a striker? Should be been Bruno in that role if you wanted a false 9.

Scoreless against Palace in 4 games now. Terrible record.

It's a definite weakness we have. We seem to find it hard to play against aggressive, energetic teams, especially when we're at home and are expected to control the game. We can't seem to dictate games for more than 15 minutes. We also struggle to wrestle control back once we've lost it.

Awful, but a typical United performance after an away game in Europe on Thursday. Players looking tired and I wonder how long Amad can keep up his levels of energy.

I can’t remember when we played a good game with Dalot and Mazraoui as WB’s.

Nice that Amorim tried something new with a young guy in front.. but why not a real striker?! Obi Martin or Biancheri f.e.

But again. We’re utter shite. Worst offence in PL.

Stop being defensive and weird about the manager. Amorim has 14 points out of a possible 39 - in 13 league games. You don't need a fecking "miracle" to do better than that.

It hasn't been good performance nor result wise. He has to find solutions, soon.
Who’s doing better? When are we realising it’s the squad we’ve built over the last 3/4/5 years? Where’s the proof that we’re even capable of achieving the level you think another manager would?

Our league form has been in the toilet for a lot longer than Amorims reign. He’s inherited a broken squad with players incapable of doing the basics. What are you expecting from him?

We’re absolutely shite and it’ll take a lot longer for us to become good if we sack him for yet another manager.

Have some fecking patience. Maybe some perspective too.

The worst part in all this, isn't really that we now lose so often at home, it's the almost cognitive dissonance, from the lack of goals. To paraphrase from Clive Tyldesley: 'Can Manchester United? They just don't score anymore' Honestly, I haven't been to OT for ages and it's more refreshing live blogs feeds these days but, God, it's grim. Getting used to us not scoring for so long is so hard.

Amorim (or anyone) will not make any sort of progress without delivering a serious uplift in our scoring capability and, here right now, I'm struggling to see how we do that.

Another putrid home result, we are so impotent. Well done to Palace, they deserved their win; we barely created anything again. Seven home defeats in the league, eleven defeats in twenty-four games. I’m grateful the bottom three sides are so bad, otherwise we would be in real danger of going down. It’s horrific.

Same old rubbish.

I really do hate most of this team. Makes me sick to see some of these bums lining up for us week in week out.

I’m clinging on to some hope that wingers in the full back positions will make a difference. We’re pretty much playing a back 5 at the minute, who move the ball too slowly. Add to that a massive lack of pace amongst the 3 CB’s and the whole midfield and it spells trouble.

We’re too slow in transition and the few chances we create seem to be from scraps off long balls.

Couldn’t cope with Palace’s press either.

Grim.

It has been said many timesa recently, but this team is desperate for a quality striker. It would make a significant improvement to results.

Never has a team needed a centre forward more.
I don't think that matters when the coach doesnt want balls played in behind and players don't see those passes.

Besides 1 striker vs at least 2cbs in a congested box.

Doesn't matter what we do, who we buy. Buckle up for two more decades of this.

Smooth talking fecker’s got us eating out of his hand. He’s immune for this season.

He i stubborn so we must suffer until he changes the whole squad.
We can barely afford to change one of the squad. Resorting to an inexperienced full back from Lecce. He wasn’t even in the top 3 players identified for that position.

He has 1 assist in 21 games. In the Italian league.

No way he has a big impact on this team of chancers.

In fact, I’d put money on him regressing and being released on a free in 2 years or so.

Utd we’re bullied by a more physical and athletic team, no one could shrug a player off, no one could take a player on. When they had the football utd we’re mostly backing off. Utd we’re lucky to finish the game 2 down as palace created better chances.
Utd should have started with a striker, no saying our strikers are amazing but they still would have offered more than mainoo.
Wingers were marked by 2 players constantly but no one attacking the space behind to utilise it.
Palace were so comfortable for majority of the game, utd just too poor all over the pitch

Ironically I thought there were a lot of positives for the first hour or so. Decent in possession, good defending, the team seemed up for it and focused. Could have scored with a bit more luck.

The same problems persist though: We have no consistent way to get goals, and too many consistent ways to concede goals.

I watched the game and it's the same old story, we just need to be braver when we get forward. This endless pissing about with the ball on the edge of the area does nothing for us, we need to get the ball into the box quicker because frankly it's ridiculous to work so hard only to lose the ball and be done 3v3 on the break by EVERY SINGLE TEAM WE PLAY AGAINST. If the balls into their box, and they do something from there, fair enough, but it's getting a bit silly now. We need to take more risks or this will happen every game.

Ferguson did what he did by forcing his teams to play quickly and bravely when they got forward, and not be afraid to lose it in the final third. Klopp basically did what he did by making his teams play quickly and bravely in the final third. There's a common theme there. Bravery and speed. The last three games we've got to the final third, played it around a bit and then lost it. The ONLY reason that (for instance) FCSB didn't punish us more was ther lack of quality.

What we are doing isn't working, and it's insane to keep trying it. 59 touches in their box, 17 shots, and 2 on target is just dire attacking statistics too, and we've spunked 200million on players who can't score, to be undone by absolute -shit- like Crystal fecking Palace

That was so poor it’s unbelievable.

It’s sad that we lost again to two mistakes from us: there is no way Onana should not reach the first looping header and then Maguire just being scared of being beaten for pace gives them easy passes and doesn’t play offside.

With the window shutting tomorrow, at least we will have a LWB and hopefully one more signing for the first team. We can start working on improving game by game till the end of the season. Some of the passing today was much better but no point to it if we just don’t have an attacking focal point.

If everton and westham win their games in hand, we will drop to 15th. What a time to be a united fan.

For someone who has supported this club for around 30 years now, this is the lowest i have seem the club… terrible state

I used to complain that Fergie's teams couldn't beat top 4 teams regularly even if they beat all other sides regularly. Boy do I miss those days.

It has been said many timesa recently, but this team is desperate for a quality striker. It would make a significant improvement to results.
How? When was the last time we actually played the ball to a position where a striker would/ should be?

It's our parasite owners. All of them. They'll continue to suck us dry (the club and us fans) as long as we allow it. Haven't watched in weeks. I realized it was more fun in 1978. The odd NASL on TV or ASL game on local radio, Fighting the rabbit ears and UHF snow trying to make out what's on Soccer Made in Germany and Star Soccer on PBS and waiting for scores via an imported newspaper that arrived on the newsstand 2 days later or through Dutch Teletext in 1990. Now it's 20 footy fan sites online, Direct TV, Extra Sports package, Peacock, ESPN +, Now you need Paramount Plus to watch Europe hundreds of dollars a month for shit...... They tell us it's way better and worth it. Owners, networks, players, sponsors..... everyone is getting richer but we fans. It's a beautiful, sunny day somewhere. Go enjoy it.
