Very disappointing in the end. We lose by some very poor defending at the end. Should have at least got a point from the game.

It is still only matchweek 2 so a long way to go.

I think you’re being a little optimistic, this team will be lucky to finish 10th, we simply don’t score enough goals or control enough games in the EPL.

I think Zirkzee willl end up being a decent signing, I like his touch and his overall movement, Mazraoui will be an ok signing but the rest have been vastly overrated, De Ligt is soon to be one Harry maguire Mark 2 as a meme.

We needed a quality creative left back, we need a creative deep lying midfielder like carrick and a midfield destroyer plus another out and out goal scorer, today is a reality check we still desperately need 3/4 players in and 5 or 6 out and if ineos don’t want to start with an average 8th -10th place start this season, they better get busy before deadline day.

We’re a very ordinary team and are on same level of big group of teams effectively. We aren’t going to get a lot more before the deadline, maybe one signing.

I don’t think 6-8th is optimistic. We could scrape a bit higher or fall even lower, we saw last season now poor a team can be and still finish around that area.

Funny thing is they had such a high line you'd think we'd be able to break that and create much more with the quick players we have. But our passing and timing is so fecking crap it's incredible.

Dread to think what we will look like against deep sitting teams again

Not just that, when are we going to play *convincingly* *for 90 minutes* at least *two games in a row*?

Literally the bare minimum expectation. It's year three and it hasn't even happened yet.
Yes, agreed!

Would've taken a draw. Brighton tends to turn up against us and they're a decent side.

We were poor today and the defending on the 2 goals we conceeded was scandalous.

We will need to be much better against Liverpool if we are to avoid a hiding, hopefully we have Ugarte available and start both Zirkzee and De Ligt.

Ridiculous result to take. We played better than Brighton overall. Instead of getting the win, it turned the other direction instead.

Yep a decent side Brighton and hard to play against. A draw wouldn't have been a bad result and away from home.

Liverpool at home next week. I hope we come out and play and get on the front foot.

That's a much more sensible position than last season. I respectfully disagree about Ten Hag, but let's see how this season pans out.
Obviously the board was willing to replace ETH during the summer but could not find a better option who was available. Let's see who they have in mind.

Some progress to our play this season but I am afraid it won't be enough. Still early days and Ugarte might make a difference as will our injured players do when they return.

Lots of negativity. We played some decent ball most of the game. Our game went a little (very) flat after Mount and Fernandes went off but I'm guessing they didn't have the legs for it. We weren't going undefeated this season and a loss away to Brighton isn't the end of the world. They'll cause upsets this season and they'll bottle a few games themselves. We saw some good stuff today. And bad.

Two games down can’t see anything different at all , boring football , hopeless substitutions , still dicking about at the back , pre season optomism out the window . Fed up !!!!!

The most stupid offside goal in the history of football and losing to a last minute goal.

That's another Saturday ruined by these wasters.

Yeh, I kind of feel the same, I can’t excercise my anger away, I’m really bulling after that.

It’s really annoying we keep suffering insane cases of bad luck, but if it keeps happening…

Other teams have improved significantly, Brighton, West Ham. Newcastle, Villa, Spurs, Chelsea and we are nowhere near City, Liverpool, Arsenal.

In the last three seasons this squad can’t score more than 57-58 goals that’s a basic flaw that has not been corrected, not enough creativity from full back, wide strikers and midfield.

Two PL games in we’ve barely scored 2 Goals, not clinical enough, not enough PL goals in this current squad and ultimately every season we are getting found out even more, 14 defeats from last season could easily be 15-16 with this inept moron in charge, he doesn’t sense danger, his substitutes are not of the required standards in the same way the front 4 is not getting you 60/70 pl goals in a season.

I really don’t like our transfers this season, only Zirkzee, I think will. be ok, the rest so so, even Ugarte is no guarantee with language barriers and him needing time to adjust to the EPL. So I don’t see truly elite players who make a difference, I look Newcastle, Villa, West Ham and even Brighton and see teams who will score at least 15-20 goals more than us this season

A draw would have been a fair result. Think we were the better team in the first half while they in the second.

Og course people are negative, we are just out of a season where we ended 8th with a negative GD for crying out loud, and it looks like we a continuing our terrible form.
Ten Hag isnt good enough.

How long before the "give it to Ruud" starts?

ETH really doesn't have time on his side this season. He's got to get it right quickly, especially after splashing out so much money (if we get Ugarte as well it will be a massive outlay).

A bit unlucky today but the overarching theme has been disorganisation/switching off. We've just had it happen in the community shield so another occurrence so soon is really a poor reflection on our preparation.

Looking at the last goal conceded alone, its yet another one off a set piece AND you've got BOTH Dalot and Mainoo at the right back spot when both should be better positioned. We're a mess at times in terms of our defensive structure and discipline.

The board were pretty sensible this summer, I've said for months now that I don't mind if Ten Hag goes as long as we're smart with who we bring in to replace him. Just throwing flavour of the month managers at the problem, as the De Zerbi suggestion was before his team collapsed last season, isn't going to improve things in any way.

As for whether the improvement is enough, I'm open minded enough to admit you might be right. Our approach gives us a lot of control, but there are legitimate question marks around whether we can keep it up for 90 minutes.

We're two games in. We had a poor preseason with most of our important missing out entirely. Have some perspective.

There’s were good patches but it looks like we will suffer the same problems as last season - sitting deep and trying to play counter attacking football whilst creating little and at the same time looking wide open to be countered ourselves.

We have no ability to control a game or score enough goals to put a game to bed and repeatedly switch off for second phases of the opponents attack so the opposition will always be in the game.

Ten Hag will always be 2-3 games away from the sack in the minds of the media but he will contribute to this himself if he keeps picking the likes of Rashford and Casemiro.

Martinez is the elephant in the room and has been shite so far; I can only assume he’s still pissed from the Copa.

We don't have stand out passers of the ball.

But all those teams that have improved have issues and all will be impacted by injuries/form. I doubt we’ll finish above or below all of them, when you look at our tactics and lineups from last season we should improve as well.

It’s easy to get carried with how good/bad we are, effectively we are mid table and will get around 60 points give or take.

I hate the formation without a striker. We will never score enough goals with that tactic. ETH should have used Rashford as a striker today and played Garnacho as a left winger instead.

We've been poor for more than a year, how's that for perspective.

Even when we actually turn up, an inept and wasteful attack and defensive blunder meant we were 1-0 down at half time. Then we should have turned it around in the second half but for a calamity offside. Brighton also showed up second half so we lost. I’m sick of these new and creative ideas in which we find ways to lose or draw games. Need a better ball playing midfielder and a top quality attacker. Wishful thinking for this window.

Wake me up when this moron is sacked. May as well sit back put my feet up and not stress about how awful we are. That is his squad now, year 3 and many if his signings.

For me, at least, it doesn't matter that we should have won it, as some suggested here.

It matters greatly that this is our level, give or take.
I know it's crazy to post because in the end it's mostly about point tally and trophies,
but I don't think I'd have felt much different if it were us who one 2-1 today, and not them.

I'm just sad that we keep playing very very mediocre football, year on year on year.
Different styles of mediocre football, sure. Sometimes we will win, somettimes lose.
But there's this feeling of not going anywhere with this manager, with lots of this players...

How long can you overhaul yet another squad?

Supporting United these past couple of years.. and Chelsea supporters nust feel the same btw...

Drains the life out of you, even with a trophy won here and there.

This is entitlement at its finest, I'm well aware of that.
But I can't argue with my emotions.
.

Same shit, different season.
Lose possession when in attack, look poor at set pieces, no urgency, no style of play, poor quality passing. I don't hold out much hope for this season and only two games in. A heavy defeat next weekend at home to Liverpool maybe the final straw for many.

Primary School level defending, hard to criticise Zirkzee for gambling trying to get on end of cross

When owners and the majority want Ten Hag to stay on, this is what we'll get. He's incapable of controlling any game. The opposition team is literally as likely to score as we are. Players who haven't been up to it for a long time like Maguire and Rashford keep letting us down. Started both games without a central striker.

1. Our keeper is ropey
2. Lots of defensive mistakes
3. Lack of control in midfield
4. Lack of a goal scorer

It's just poor all around. I think we'll slightly improve from last year but 5th/6th with maybe a slight positive goal difference.

Not the result we wanted but i think we look a lot more compact than last season. Pressing is much better. The opposition are not raining shots on our goal like last year. We controlled a lot of the game today.
We are creating opportunities to score but no striker to get on the end of it is killing us.
We should have won today and did enough for a result. Two shocking pieces of defending cost us two very soft goals. Keep your shape when defending. The guy on the ball draws 4 players around him before he slots it to the far post.

It’s really annoying we keep suffering insane cases of bad luck, but if it keeps happening…
Then it’s not bad luck but serious neglect from the coaching team, Ruud is as a master at bending his run and beating the offside rule, today we got caught out on too many occasions and young Players like Garnaucho and Amad must learn, there’s no excuse for Rashford, he needs to improve rapidly or be shipped out.

Zirkzee could do nothing about the touch but he found Pl pace different today. We need to get players like Antony out the club or tell him he won’t feature in any 20 man squad this season so find a new club, he’s the worst signing in PL history and at United we’ve had probably 8 out of the top 10!

Bit like the first game, were positives and nagatives.

We were ok, better thanlast season still....but nothing special Is a muh better organised press, look defensively better generally and some of the short passing link up play shows promise.

Peoplesaying nothing different....well remember Mazaroui is the only signing has started both games or evenplayed a significant part, so we arent going to see signifiant change until that happens....and it should start Now.

For me the negatives are things that are the same and will get blasted for one of them:

1) Rashford - he wasnt terrible but he simply offers little. His pace doesnt seem toget him away from players now, he is often the weak link in the pressetc etc....SHouldnt be starting, shouldnt be retained
2) Maguire starting - He hasntplayed badly the two opening games...but starting its a deeper line, on the ball slows down tempo building from the back.....shouldnt start next game
3) Bruno Fernandes - Sorry, that contrat will be getting question like the last one by January. Hasnt started well, is a very good player but he is too gung ho for me in moving the ball forward that the consistency is never there. He was mainlyawful last season....but a good last two months, all forgotten
4) Ten Hag - Still not pro oranti Ten Hag, though heshouldhave been sacked in the summer for last seasons results and performances. I want him to do well and see stability and progressionat the club. The tatics look to be improving but is that new coaches? Its early inthe season so players maybenot fully fit.....but so far not been enthusiastic with his selections or substitutions and adaptions in matches.

Personally, talk of 8-10th I dontbuy into. Once we have the right cb pairing and other signings and players back, I think top four is something we can fight for butnotoverly confident and I think we will be regretting not signing a top wide attaking talent and we will be bemoaning some top stars stillbeing here
