Our attack is terrible.

Goalkeeping, defence and midfield have definitely improved but our attack is regressing.

Rashford needs to stay in the opposition half. Start thinking about Garna as a wing-back. Still not convinced about Hojlund or Zirkzee.

I really don't know. It's all too disconcerting.

Was just about to mention this  worst bit is according to the rules he should've been sent off but only got a yellow AND... In light of it the rules are changing for interference to only be a warning so you can imagine what sort of antics the Arteta's/Tindall's/Mourinho's of this world are going to get up to
Really?! If anything they should make the rules more stringent. And don’t get me started on Tindall and his shit-eating grin.

I am fairly pleased TBH, I think we forget how bad we were just a few games ago, we fought put a lot of effort in but we do not have the quality or training to go toe to toe with one of the best teams in the country, it was a fairly tight game.

Wait maybe controversial but we seriously need to stop finding scapegoats and pointing fingers. We will get better players will be back from suspension or injury next time.

I know I know too much to ask. It is the caf afterall. We were just not ready for this one

I watched the game in the 2nd half and Arsenal looked the better team. I heard we held them very well in the first half.

Disappointing not to win but it was always a tough ask to win on the road against a strong side.

Need to win now on the weekend at home to Nottingham Forrest.

Don't get me wrong it is extremely frustrating losing to the top sides all the time. I hope this gets better under the new manager our record.

Everyone needs to calm down here - what did you really expect?

Earliest of days under the new man and playing away to a genuine title contender..

Not great, but not awful - it’s the next game - Forest at home - where we need to pick up the wins

At this point it really don’t matter which position. We need to sign another attacker.

Someone that’s more steak knife than butter knife.

Hoj + Rash + Mount + Garnacho + Zirkzee are blunt but functional players at best

It shows we are still a good way away from challenging the top 4 teams. Although we were good defensively first half, we were toothless upfront. This is going to take time and a big change of personnel

The first half was weird. For the first 10-15 mins I thought the lack of willingness to take a risk up front kind of made sense because I presumed we wanted to settle into the game. But after awhile it was so frustrating to see the players look for the back pass when it made more sense to go forward.

Tbf that’s the first part to structure and the amount of improvement since his taken over is actually very impressive.

The most difficult part is the creation of chances. Structuring to break through teams like Arsenal once we are in their half. Today it was obvious most of our players are not good enough, but at the same time I think if we played this match next month with the same squad we’d probably create more chances.

They are scared to lose possession and lack the confidence/ talent to play it forward.

I think they can have their heads held high after that one. They got beat by a very good Arsenal team via 2 corner goals. We didn't get mauled.

Yes they have a lot of work to do and have a long way to go... But they doing well considering they are learning a new system and developing as a team and individuals.

Agree with this.

This is going to be a long term project. It was for Klopp and Arteta and arguably it could take longer for Amorim because we have deadwood that doesn't fit into his system that are hard to shift because of their high salaries.

This season is about beating the teams around the middle of the table and below.

I think it has been drummed into this team to play in a very conservative way. I saw it today when we had the ball in their half. Rather than playing the quick ball into a tight space, our players would rather turn back and take the easy option back to a defender.

It that them being not good enough or have they been discouraged from taking risks in possession.

We've got City away next Sunday and if we go there and play the way we did tonight we could end up being annhilated

I didn't expect anything other than a loss really.

I thought it was positive to see in the first half that the team had some structure to it, could progress the ball fairly well and defend in open play. Set pieces caused us major problems, but I put that largely down to the delivery - Arsenal put in some excellent balls pretty much every corner. I was disappointed we didn't take a few more risks when we got up to their box. Just put in a cross once in a while.

There are some positives to take. The squad is still sub par. We move on.

So annoying to get done on corners twice, Rashford basically put the game out of reach with that cheap one. Frustrating that Dalot chance was the wrong player in right position

Are City like Arsenal who can punish a United team who are hopeless on corner kicks? City was atrocious against Liverpool on Sunday and against Spurs the week before.

City wont be as defensive and have players that can actually score from open play so wont need to rely on dodgy corner rutines for goals.

We will have Licha and Mainoo back. Leny with a few more minutes as well plus a few more training sessions. You think it will be the same then??

We have Plzen 3 days before City so we dont know who will be available and who will be rested but if we setup defensively and continously pass backwards like we did tonight we'll be playing right in to City's hands.

Annihilated??? How so?? Thought we were decent defensively, and playing in London. They barely had any chances and scored on two extremely lucky corners. Played without Licha as well. What match were you watching??

My main takeaway from that match was that arsenal are annoying. Rich man's Stoke is pretty accurate.
I'm pretty happy to limit them to set pieces, we obviously would have had bigger priorities with training leading up to this game than figuring out the best way to deal with that. Maybe next time.
We didn't do enough going forward.

If there was a way to strengthen the team selling Rashford and signing another striker, that a double benefit. Rashford is a liability, doesn’t press, doesn’t pass, doesn’t defend , what he seems to do is sulk .

A player on what £350k per week , doesn’t put what seems a real effort in and has limited skills other than speed, no improvement in basics since coming into the team as a teenager. Seriously he is a liability to the team and if we are honest should be moved asap, the attitude is so poor and possibly reflects on the team as a whole.

How disappointing that a Manc born and bred seems happier in the nightclub than on the field. Time to move him on.

Played well in the first, they couldn't break us down which is a positive step.....second half we didn't have any possession it seemed. Wasteful. After they sell Shaw to the local bakery, they can try get whatever they can for Rashford. He is certainly not the same player he once was. Zero pace, and can't do shite with the ball when he does get it. That miss pass to Amad caused Amorim to throw his water bottle. Zirkzee...what's the point? I mean....still deserves more time. Wtf was he doing with that backpass to no one which led to an Arse chance at goal? Not too disappointed. Still learning the system and after so little time, it does seem they are getting it down for the most part.

Am I being petty by calling out Timber for pushing Hojlund in the back on the goal?

He will definitely rotate. He’s been doing that all along. But I am hopeful he will know the players and position a lot better then. He probably learned a lot about the players tonight in defeat too

I thought we were alright. Arsenal are just miles ahead of us at this moment.

Can’t tell you why but I am confident for the FA cup tie at the emirates
I had the same (possibly intrusive) thought last night as the game limped to a close. No reason why but somewhere in the back of my mind was 'we'll do this bunch when it really counts'.

As usual I think we continue to have trouble scoring when trying to keep our shape. We need to learn to score within the system. This is something we have struggled with for years it seems. Also, another hallmark of this team is the struggle to defend set pieces. That continued today as well.

Continue to be impressed by Diallo. His perseverance to harass Zinchenko and nick the ball off him and drive toward goal was impressive. He’s our best offensive player in terms of driving at defenders and actually getting behind them. Rashford is possibly our worst. Not sure what happened to him but he just doesn’t show the energy or determination he once did. Was also impressed with Yoro in his cameo. He seems like he has great instincts and obviously strong physical attributes.

Overall I think we need some more game-changing players for these types of games. Players who can consistently break down organized defenses with talented players either through sublime passing and/or movement with and without the ball.

thought the shape was okay and the lads stayed disciplined

not much else to say other than the obvious, Rashford needs to sold whatever the bid his attitude stinks

100% - he just seems like he’s not enjoying his football anymore; both United and Rashford need to go separate ways
