 You should've had white text... Anyway sorry, too used to posting in the newbies

No problem, mate - we've all been there. On closer inspection it wasn't THAT obvious either, so not only do I forgive you - I even apologize for the misunderstanding.

Like Jose would win things with Evans, Cleverley and Welbeck in the squad... He would spend as much as LVG, probably even more and still there would be no guarantee of winning one single thing.

He's a great mind manipulator and tactician but he was involved with Chelsea already in 2005 so that idea almost equals appointing Wenger... which doesn't sound that bad in reality, too.

He'd provide as close to a guarantee as you could get, to be honest. Two seasons at the club and big spending, I'd be surprised if he didn't win at least a cup.

Unless your point is that nothing whatsoever is guaranteed. But then, it's about odds and probability.

What is this thing he has started of walking as soon as the final whistle blows without shaking hands with the opposition manager. Today was even funnier when waited at the entrance of the tunnel and waved out to Steve Bruce.

My opinion hasn't changed one bit, feck no!

Could you imagine if United, 7 points clear with 7 to play, against a side plagued by injury, at home, went out with those tactics?
We'd be outraged. And rightly so. He's simply not a fit for United.

Great manager. Glad he's not ours thanks.

My opinion has changed. It's a no now. Can't be parking the bus against your rivals. Would rather outplay our rivals.

No, I hate this brand of football, it might be effective but I’m a football romantic and I believe we can combine good football and results. Most successful teams have played good football, Mourinho teams seem to play shit football and win, I don’t think that’s very common those days.

I certainly don’t like defensive teams.

I would have said yes before Van Gaal was here but not now. I think Van Gaals football has a higher ceiling in the long run.
Well put, I agree.

Today's game only reaffirms my opinion. Great manager but id consider him only if we were really really really desperate. Like if we tried every other great managers and still weren't able to win a single trophy in 5 years. Then id probably consider him.

My opinion hasn't changed. Yes, as a month (or a couple of years) ago.

We're talking about the same Mourinho who won La Liga ahead of the bestest team in the world ever ever not so long ago?

Well, Mourinho is like 13 years younger than Van Gaal and has already won quite a few more trophies than him, so wouldn't be sure. Attacking football has a higher reward than defensive football, but Mourinho might be the best ever when it comes to the defensive football (and on 15-20 years from now, might be the best ever full stop).

Playing much the same football, but instead of just having Hazard up the pitch, he had Ronaldo, Modric, Bale and Benzema.
An abundance of players with that pace and skill will make any tactics look good.

Nobody is doubting his effectiveness. Just the quality and style of his football.

Didn't Madrid also broke the record of number of goals in La Liga, too?

A club like United needs to have more pride in the way they play than what we saw from Chelsea today. Their fans don't mind so much as they don't have a history of success but I can't see fans here taking to it in the long run, like we saw at Madrid where eventually everyone and their mother wanted him gone.

well this game played 10 times would end up with 5 wins for Mou and 5 for us, despite the record he helds there but today it was really risky tactic. We had so much possession and they could capitalize on it. If rooney scored in the beginning, if Dean called the faul on Falcao.. they wouldn't probably have many more chances. We were far etter team and never deserved to lose. It's often like that with Mourinho but I believe this was a great game from us and we really outclassed them and I would rather outclass them with such display and lose 5 out of 10 while being unlucky than winning five with such disgusting display at home game. They could really go onto play some football, the league was won much earlier and they missed one player.. we had 4 and still made them look like Hull with one lucky goal on the break.

After this game I wouldn't take Mourinho over Van Gaal at all. If we play like this next year we are winning the league and it will be great to watch at the same time. That's what we should I'm for and what we have waited for some years..

...to make Chelsea park the bus with 29% possession at home

It's hard for a no to become even more sure, but it certain happened today.

No, his football is TO negative. Basically what we were doing earlier in the season and it was doing my nut in. We would win titles but we love this game because of beautiful football, not people like Mourinho.

That Barcelona team won a hell of a lot more than that Madrid though.

I'm not saying that Van Gaal is better than Mourinho though. But attacking, possession oriented football clearly has a higher ceiling. Mourinho always sets his teams up as the underdog in big matches. I'd much prefer us to try and build a squad capable of dominating our opponent rather than playing defensive/countering against anyone half decent.

Maureen was the obvious candidate in 2013 and we used the wrong people to do the headhunting. Water under the Stamford Bridge now but I get the impression he is out to prove our error at every opportunity. I still think given the chance he would make our board eat humble pie and sign him up.

Is you claiming that Madrid played good football under he? Not sure many of their fans were.
For most of the times yes. They hesitated quite a lot against Bartha though on the first year and got humiliated 5-0 and then defeated on the UCL, but for most of his time there they played nice attacking football. As much attacking as United under Ferguson. Interestingly, when we played them on his final season there, United were the more defensive team.

The worst sporting decision since the Blazers picked someone called Sam Bowie ahead of Michael Jordan.

Disagree there, maybe for the first leg away but not the second leg at Old Trafford.

Have you heard of a chap called Pep? Winning football that doesn't make you want to blind yourself.

The same Pep who was amazing whilst he had arguably the best squad of players ever at one club and not looking too clever even though he has the best squad of players at the moment at his current club?

Jose any day over Guardiola.

 Sorry Cal but that's awful.

Did they seriously have 30% possession at home to a club starting Paddy McNair?
Yep. We also won 1-0! Before the match it was the most bullish its ever been on here. Post match apparently we were playing Stevenage!
