That Giovanni artwork is bad as feck.
Apparently it's just a 2 card set that I'm assuming comes with those sleeves and boxes, and doesn't come cheap either. Will probably have to get them though to go with my CP6 set (which I just need full art Dragonite to complete).
Opened up my Evolutions Box in the end as the Elite Trainer Boxes got delayed until the end of the month. Main pulls are on my Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/?hl=en
Managed to get 80% of the set. Completed the commons and uncommons which is nice (normally end up missing a couple of uncommons), along with all of the non-holographic rares. Due to this and me getting both Elite Trainer Boxes later in the month (and maybe all four blister pack variants) it's probably not worth me opening another box, so I'll be keeping any future ones sealed. The set has had boxes sell out in most places, so it's definitely going to be a sought after one and worth a lot of money in the future.
Some other cards of note I got were Reverse Holo Fire, Water, Fighting, Dark, and Double-Colourless(!) Energies. You can get like £4+ each for these as competitive players like to swag out their decks with holo everything where possible. Probably a lot more for the DCE.
My only trades of any note so far are Charizard EX, Imakuni's Doduo, and Flying Pikach.
If by some chance you miss a Rare, I've got basically all of them available for trade / giving away.

I was just going to pre-order the blister packs, but it seems that they've had their release pushed back to mid-December, so I'll just wait to buy those. Looks like I won't be getting any products until the end of the month now with the Elite Trainer Boxes not coming until then. Don't really want to buy any singles until I've opened the last of my boosters.

Yeah seems like this is an expensive set, even the boosters in shops seem more than other sets, although I guess it'll be popular so makes sense.

I finally finished mine properly earlier this year. Making sure that where possible, the Pokémon had the Blue Pentagon Symbol in the status screen (meaning it was Kalos / Gen 6 Native and legal for competitions). What a fecking waste of time that might turn out to be now that they've replaced the Blue Pentagon with a Black Plus Symbol in Sun/Moon... Pokémon has a lot of products.
There's the trading card game still, which you can play in person with physical cards. However, there is an app for an online version of the game and every physical pack of cards you buy has a code to obtain a pack on the app version too.
The main video game is more of an RPG style game, where you catch more monsters as you progress and defeat bad guys / leaders in the story and usually become 'champion' by defeating the most elite trainers. It's a bit similar to old Final Fantasy games where you meet new characters (catch new Pokemon) along the way and can have so many in your party at once. There's obviously more variety though as come this year there's around 800 Pokémon in existence, all having access to different moves, abilities, and being of different types which all have advantages / disadvantages against others. Turn-Based Battles as well, by the way.
There's also a Tekken style fighting game for Wii U with select characters and support characters usable.
All of these are even part of a Pokémon Championship Series, where you can enter competitive tournaments to win prizes and qualify for the World Championships held in America.

I'll have to breed the most competitive Pokémon first, but thankfully the new set of video game tournament rules will use just the Pokémon in the Alola 'Dex which is somewhere around 300~ Pokémon. I'm interested to learn more about the mechanics of Alola Pokémon. For example, if I send over two original Muk from past games and breed them, will it always become an Alolan form because it's hatched in Sun/Moon? Will it always be original Muk because no Alolan version was involved? Really have no idea on it just yet. Same goes for if I send over a Pikachu or Cubone and evolve them, would they become Alolan versions or not? As a tournament player primarily, I was more interested in learning the stats and learn-sets so I can theory some teams in advance if I decide I can make it to the big tournament in London. For some reason though, TPCi thought it would be a good idea to hold the biggest tournament of the year for European players on 9-11 December when it's difficult to get time off work and everyone needs money for Christmas (and then for the first time, slap an entry fee on top which is fecking £40). It was already bad enough that they expect people to finish the games, build a team with perfect IVs / EVs and test it out etc in around two weeks... What's more is that we can't send anything over from Bank until January, so we're starting from scratch here as well!
I've obviously got a lot to pay for with my next wage at the end of this month (like everyone this time of year), but I wanted to get another Evolutions box while they're still available as I get the feeling this print will run out faster than expected. It's a really tough decision as to whether I go to this tournament, but it's a big opportunity and will be awesome. I was the only person in the UK who has been to every major event/tournament up until this month as I just couldn't justify going to Liverpool for the most recent Regional. Everything bad that I expected from that tournament happened. Turnout was relatively low (89 people) which meant only the best 16 would earn Points to qualify for Worlds, and only the top two would win any prize money. Hotels were expensive and it cost £30 to enter with very little reward, so I left it.

@Havak always amazes me the time you guys take to breed for competition, it's something I'd love to look at properly one day, maybe once my Pokedex is complete. When I was younger I never realised how much more to the game there was.

Yeah haha sometimes it's a bit too much time! Although, once we know enough people usually just hack the mons to save time to be honest. While the hack checks are reasonable at events, they only really catch out anything that is actually illegal (wrong abilities, moves that can't normally be learned, incorrect level for evolution, too many EVs etc).
Yeah, even with my member discount on Chaos Cards I'd be paying slightly more than going into FanBoy3 here in Manchester city centre where they charge £100 a box. Will see how prices are come month's end.
Yeah I don't really see the problem with hacking so long as it's technically a legit Pokemon, considering how long breeding a perfect one would take. With the internet not like it's hard to do, just time consuming.
