Gaming Pokémon Strumfest

Yeah I don't think I've ever used one, even less so than most legendaries. I think gen 1 was the only one I used any in when I had a legendary bird fetish.

Also on an unrelated note. I caught a Magikarp yesterday, it had tackle. That upsets me.

Gold and Silver and Diamond and Pearl. They were cool but a pain to get them all.

I used to always buy the 500 bucks one. Gyarados before Misty. :lol:
 
They're releasing Pokemon art academy on 3DS in June. Learn how to draw all your favourites if you're into that sort of thing.
 
Silver is the best, but my brother has silver so no point me getting it too.
 
Haven't played this in quite a while. Please could someone tell me what the latest games are like, what console you play them on and how much the 2 cost? Thinking of treating myself after what will hopefully be my last uni exam next week!

The latest are Pokemon X and Pokemon Y for the 3DS and 2DS.

None too sure of the prices but @Alock1 was talking about some great deals the other day.

@Earthquake Cheers for that, are X and Y different? I remember Gold and Silver were the same apart from the legendary bird you could catch, is it something similar and does it have any of the original pokemon in?

Exact same idea, pretty much identical games except for a few pokemon, notably the ones on the boxes.

There are quite a few of the old pokemon in it, but I don't think you see a great deal of them early on.
 
Game were selling 3DS XLs earlier preowned for £90, not sure if they still are. Sainsburies do a Pokemon and 2DS bundle for £90/100 too.

I've caved and decided to use an online creator for certain pokemon and send it to my game. Only for event pokemon that are impossible to get otherwise though like Mew. Anything I can actually get legit I'll be getting legit.

Had they allowed some of those event pokemon on the GTS I wouldn't have bothered and just tried to chain trade them, but some you can't even search for on GTS it seems. Nintendo are bastards sometimes.

Very soon, stuff like Pokégen and Pokécheck will be the only way to get Event Pokémon. Neither is legitimate, but there would be no difference in terms of bytes on your game.

I dunno I tried to look last night for Jirachi and it didn't even come up as an option, couldn't do a search either. I'll have to check it again maybe but it seemed no good.

That being said I bet half the ones like that even if they can be traded have been generated online anyway.
 
Yeah the site actually has options to generate them exactly as they were distributed during the event, and I just couldn't handle having those 6 or 7 slots not filled, it'd make me feel sick :lol:
 
Just beat the elite 4 on X, finally got round to it. What an anti-climax though! How can you have an Elite 4 where they don't even have the full evolutions?

Is there anything worth sticking around for now or shall I move on?
 
I remember trying to get a legitimate version of every legendary on black 2,from all past generations.

Impossible task given the amount of hacks out there, would probably need to collect all the old pokemon games yourself.

There's post-game stuff in all the games nowadays, so keep playing. It's a shame the Elite Four don't get tougher in X and Y in rematches, though.

With or without the GTS? Victini, Celebi and Arceus, for example, can only be obtained via events.
 
Forgot about that, I wouldn't trust event legendaries from the GTS. No one is going to put up a legitimate version of an event legendary on there (I'm talking non hacked and also non cloned).

Seems to be even more difficult than I first thought

And can you buy HG or SS on a 3DS store (dsiware) can't find it

No, I have the US version, but be careful buying Pokemon games on eBay, unless you know exactly what to to look for, there's quite a high chance you'll get a bootleg.

Nope you can't get them digitally.

Would they ever release it as a download?

Basically the only way to play HG and SS is to screw over Nintendo
