Gaming Pokémon Strumfest

YES YES YES YES YES YES. I loved these games. They had the Battle Factory too. I'm still pissed that the Battle Factory wasn't in X/Y and Black/White.

They registered some new Pokemon names didn't they recently?

I think one was Pokemon battle. Probably a Pokemon brawler/battle mode using NFC toys like Skylanders. I still want that console Pokemon!

I'd love a proper console Pokemon, and would buy whatever console they put it on, but I don't really see it ever happening.
At this stage who would be considered to be the legendariest pokemon? In my day it was Mewtwo, lugia and ho-oh.

Probably Arceus, though Mewtwo and a few others still hold up.

I think Mega Heracross looks cool, don't know about its stats or moves though so can't comment on that.
Ehhh, it looks better pre-Mega, imo, MegaScizor and his pin legs are in the same boat, despite the rest of it looking better. In that case though, Scyther still looks the best of the lot.

Freaking awesome with a remake, never tried that generation properly so looking very much forward to that

Very underrated generation in my opinion, I absolutely loved them. Hopefully the remake works out just as well.

I guess I've got to play my copy of Emerald now. I've also not yet finished Heart Gold, I'm only a little way into White, and I haven't even got Black/White 2 or X/Y yet :o

EDIT: Forgot I also have a copy of Diamond I haven't played yet, but I played Pearl when it came out so that's not a priority.

From what I gather it's generally accepted as being one of the best, might be wrong though. My favorite is the HGSS remakes probably, put so much time in them. Think I've put 650 hours in Soulsilver and I've never battled online or anything. Kinda relaxing grinding teams while watching shows!

There's no reason that they couldn't easily transform Pokemon to a more typical 3D RPG. Nintendo are the kings at reimagining franchises and have got many franchises that have worked great on handheld and on console.

X/Y are basically there anyway. Infact, you could straight port X/Y so you use the gamepad as your typical screen and the TV could primarily be for battles and shit.

MMO would be unreal but that'd be way too risky and ambitious for most companies.. nevermind one who hasn't released a first party game with online support 18 months into their console's life (first will be MK8 this month)

Nah, they're generally considered one of the weakest pairs, though I thought they were fantastic.

Oh, no doubt they could do it, they just have no interest in doing it. Seem to prefer them on handhelds.

Honestly, I think they attribute a large amount of their handheld sales to Pokemon. Well, they definitely do, and let's be honest, they'd be right. It has fantastic games but Pokemon is the system seller on every single one.

That's why we will always see spin offs. Still, if they do a Skylanders thing but with Pokemon or Nintendo franchises in general, can you imagine the money they'd make? Olly would freak out I reckon

God no skylanders shit, I do not need hundreds of Pokemon figurines around my house.

I wouldn't get them either.. they'd cost stupid money. But I'd never buy a Skylanders and look how much money they make.

Saying that, I'd much rather get Nintendo/Pokemon ones if I was going to do that sort of thing. It could definitely be a huge hit.

Imagine if they incorporated it into the real game? Find a pokemon, pay for the figurine, unlock extra shiz with the figurine. Would annoy the hell out of me, but that'd probably make them lots too - aslong as it didn't hurt the gamer who won't buy them then it's cool.

The rare Pokemon would be worth finding and then buying just to sell years later for ridiculous money.

I remember sitting around in second or third grade with a friend of mine talking about what a 3D Pokémon RPG would be like (This was around the first generation of the games). We wrote down how various aspects of the game would work and stuff like that. We collected it all in a folder, tons of ideas in there, and planned on sending it to Nintendo.

Have you still got it? Don't stand for this bullshit!

I did the same, my two favourite games were Spyro and Crash, so I had the genius idea of merging the two together and saying 'why can't they just do a game together with eachother' - they did, though I remember nothing about it except that they did, so it was probably shite.

Probably overheard me on satellite or something.

I think it was my friend who stored it at home. It probably still exists somewhere. We were incredibly enthusiastic about it. Seems a bit mental today.

They don't look as bad as I thought.. probably because my estimations of the two franchises has gone down with time. Not because I got older and realised they weren't good, just because both came out with some shit games. The original trilogy of both is superb.

Not sure why I didn't buy them for my GBA.. I doubt I checked the meta scores.

Exactly.

"feck that, I ain't buying them cnuting things."

"I suppose one, what's the harm in one?"

"Maybe a few more, bit silly to have just the one..."

"All the Pokelanders! All! ALL!"

Nintendo have just announced an upcoming 3DS and Wii U NFC game;

I imagine a Pokemon will come too eventually (if they aren't included in this one).

I thought you were having us on Olly.

Crazy.. be interesting to see how they do it. Unlocking open areas and taking Mario into Zelda land. Or will you be unlocking mini games and it be a Nintendoland sort of game?

They nailed Nintendoland. Mini games based on their best franchises, with some awesome local multiplayer too. It's a brilliant game.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

Following its reveal yesterday, there has been some question as to the actual content of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, as to whether they're remakes or new versions due to the wording of the announcement. During the Investor Briefing today, Satoru Iwata confirmed that Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are full-remakes of the 2002 releases, Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire. We'll bring more on these games as it comes
Edit @ 15:38: The Japanese arm of The Pokémon Company sent out an e-mail to all Daisuki Club members which ends up pointing out the differences to Groudon & Kyogre on the box-art, stating that they're showcasing "never before seen Pokémon", the same terminology they used for Black & White Kyurem, as well as Mega Mewtwo Y upon their reveal, indicating that they are more than stylised artwork of the Pokémon. We'll bring more on this as it comes

So, full remakes, and the box arts are likely "Mega Groudon" and "Mega Kyogre" rather than just stylised art. Be absolutely delighted if that's what Mega Groudon looks like.

Reckon a mega groudon comes with a type change too, ground/fire or something.

Judging only from the box art.

I reckon Ground/Dragon to negate the Water advantage from Kyogre, considering the two are supposed to be eternal combatants it seems a bit ridiculous that one has a big advantage over the other.
