Usually as the game goes on you'll scrounge a few HM mons up, some random water route punk, and a flier are mostly what you need. Lots of Pokemon learn Strength and Cut.
Yeah I'm sure it'll be sound, to be honest I was a bit disappointed in the ranch, any of a Psyduck, Riolu or Mareep would have been more exciting than a Lillipup!

On a Nuzlocke I ended up with a Bronzor/Bronzong, a pokemon I never rated, until I had to use it, and use it for a long time. Love them now.
Yeah that's part of the reason I wanted to do this, I always end up with the same sort of teams every time I play the game, so should mix it up nicely.
Same as that, some of the lesser guys make it (somewhat) more of a challenge too.
You should play with a randomizer on. It makes it even better when your choice of starter is Jigglypuff, Shedinja or Regice, and the Pokemon on Route 1 range from Pichu to Moltres.
That does sound fun, I've been doing it on the legit game though not on ROM.
Are there any hacks around for the Black / White 1 or 2 roms? Can't find anything and really fancy playing with the 649 pokemon unlock...
If you have the rom for either Black or White then I have a link for the Blaze Black/Volt White hacks. They're very easy to use.
I'm trying to play Blaze Black 2 but for some reason it's laggy as shit. Even the music is laggy as shit.

Every time I've installed an emulator I've had to google for the appropriate settings to use, as far as I remember. Have you tried that?
Black 2 was running fine for me on DeSmuME, but I haven't tried the hack.

Although standard Black 2 was acting in exactly the same way when i tried that on it too, so it may well just be a case of needing to be set up on desmume.

elekid didn't even have a chance....
I wasn't quite prepared for this, the critical hits and missed attacks really feck you up, especially earlier in the game where you don't have that much HP.

It sounds like you have to grind an awful lot to stand a chance in these Nuzlocke runs.
When I played it I got beat by Brock because his Onix was spamming Dig. It would use dig before I could attack and then would be second to move when actually attacking, which was so frustrating. You have to a fair bit of grinding from what I remember, but you get alot more exp from wild pokemon which makes it easier.
Might go back to it and try a nuzlocke run. I haven't done one before so it should be interesting.

That's not going to work at all, when it evolves Cantona will be wearing a skirt, then again, a dress. Sacrilege! Cantona should be a fighting pokemon, to learn High Jump Kick.
