Gaming Pokémon Strumfest

I still love Pixelmon for the feel of the world because you can literally run around with the pokemon.

So in this it's just so awesome standing in a patch of grass and watching what appears, it makes the game just that extra bit special.

Come on then gents Is this worth getting? What is your initial verdict? I haven’t got an active Pokemon Go account now - does that matter? Any of you guys playing on the handheld or docked only?

Any of you playing 2 player? Wondered if I could get the mrs to pay it with me?

I don't have pokemon go either, it's not an issue. It's trash docked purely because of the absolutely feckwit control scheme (RDR2 levels of dumb decision).

However, it's actually a great game. Some aspects are dumbed a little, but if you want you can find the classic pokemon style game with a few really cool changes like not having to find a pc to swap pokemon around and most of all the random battles are far less random and far more in your control which makes it an actual joy to walk around the world.

As for 2 player, it kind of works but the second player really is just another character on screen and makes the fights pititful unless you've kept your levels way low. That might change later in game though, I'm not that far in.

I'm wanting to upgrade my phone and many of the deals come with a free Nintendo Switch. The stars are aligning.

feck Pokemon Go and all it stands for, handheld is the only way to go(no pro controller docked either, garbage), but it's great crack despite being piss easy, and is easily the best spinoff game they've ever done.

@Heardy

Yeah, it's the standard red/blue thing of three or four pokemon are unique to each version. Eevee has some seriously OP moves which is why many got that version, but honestly if you need them then you are...

But when you do get it, take all my advice above and it won't be so piss easy and will actually be such a pleasure to play.

Just realized I could swap out all my battling pokemon when catching, making sure they all aren't ridiculously over powered.

Seems obvious now, but I've just figured if you want to combo or evolve (like I'm doing with kakuna) but don't want to stupidly over level your pokemon, you can clear the party (including starter) and put some random one in you won't use to get all the xp.

Yep. It's so obvious, yet something that will really make the game better.

I get why we have to do these things ourselves these days because dumbing is seriously now the accepted norm amongst gamers conditioned to know no better, but I'm thankful we at least can.

It's defense stats are so, so bad - most SE moves will 1 shot it and it isn't particularly powerful. I normally always run the fire types, Typhlosion, Blaziken etc. but this guys absolutely sucks and I can't have him leading my line.
Weird, mine is excellent, with great IV's so I assumed it was semi-fixed(as were all the gift starters), far, far better than the ones I've found in the wild.

Also has a modest personality, which is ideal.

First gen has some awesome fire types tbh so its okay, one of Ninetales, Arcanine(the absolute best), Rapidash, Magmar, and Flareon are all some of my favorites ever, that's not to mention Moltes and Alolan Marowak.

Aye, good point, the fire options in gen one are amazing, especially now post physical/special split and Flare Blitz, making Flareon and Rapidash much improved.

Was thinking of replacing my Charizard with Rapidash, since I've never trained one before.

Is Pokemon Fire ash just for PC/Mac or can we play it on mobile as well?

It's an RPG Maker game and I think you can do something to get them running on Android but I'm no expert so couldn't say for sure. If it was a ROM hack you definitely could.

Anyone transferred from Go to this game yet? Think my highest Pokemon on that game was about 2800 CP so I've left it for now.

I have yet to play it, but tempted for xmas. Concerned about the lack of wild battles. Does this mean you guys have like a 1000 rattata's in your box because it is the only way to gain xp outside of trainer battles is to catch wild pokemon?

You can transfer the spares to the professor and that gives you candy that boosts Pokemon’s stat lines.
