Gaming Pokémon Go (Android, iOS)

I still play a little, mostly on my commute to work. Need 5 Pokemon for the dex Venusaur, Snorlax, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and Aerodactyl. I'm walking my Ivysaur for the first one and when I finally get enough candies I'll probably stop playing as the other 4 feel out of my control.
You never know, I've hatched a snorlax and a himonchan from 10km eggs and caught 2-3 snorlax out and about. Ditto, playing less with the shite weather though.

Sat at my desk at work, randomly opened the app during lunch and Snorlax was just stood there waiting for me, didn't even have to move. I finally caught one :')

I'm so... Happy... For you...

Nearly lvl 29 still without a Snorlax, Lapras or Dragonite

Level 25, I have none of the above. Friend of mine works in the same city, lives in the same village and has 3 snorlax, 1 lapras and 1 dragonite... Frustrating!

Yea annoying isn't it. Although level 25 is actually only about half the xp that I have at nearly 29, so I'm feeling even more hard done by!

If it makes you feel better I'm level 28 as well and it's the first Snorlax I've ever seen even on the radar, never thought I would catch one. Although I've caught a wild Dragonite and four Lapras'....

Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Aerodactyl are all I need now.

The first bit did make me feel better. Then you undid that with the Dragonite and 4 Lapras. Then you redeemed yourself a little as I've already caught those 3 :)

Just done a mass evolve and finally got a bubble hydro pump Poliwrath I can max out. Also a razor leaf solar beam Victrebell that I'll probably max out to take down all the water pokemon that fill my local gyms.

Saw a Dragonite for the first time a couple days ago. Razzberry, Ultraball and Great throw. Flew away on the first attempt :(

Got a fecking jinx from a 10k egg. One before last was a sodding Eevie. No wonder people use map apps and fake their GPS.

I've had 5 10k eggs so far out of 100 hatched too! So frustrating. I wish I'd made more of fastpokemap before they killed it.

If you're one of the two guys sat at the end of my road in a Y reg Vauxhall Astra just feck off please, you're disturbing the dog walkers.

I hatched a Hitmonlee. I don't really believe it, I expected another Onix or Jynx. Just Hitmonchan and Aerodactyl to go.

Nice one! I've not had a 10km egg for a while and got a bloody Ekans from my last 5km one.

Just evolved an Eevee and got a Jolteon, had the other 2 so delighted with that. Got all 3 eeveelutions in just 4 evolving attempts. Also caught a Mr Mime and evolved an Abra among other boring shit.

How much importance do you guys place on IV?

I am level 26 and have only just hatched a Snorlax at 82% IV - I'm not sure if this is 'good enough' to power up.

I also have an 82% IV Dratini which I am not evolving yet because I'm holding out for something better.

What would you do? I want a gym beast!

(On a side note, I did hatch a 100% IV Spearow...great!)

You may already know this, but did you know that you can give the Eevee a certain name (before evolving) to ensure it gets you what you want?

I think this only works once though.

I place much less importance on IV since the latest changes to gym prestige. The 18% difference that would make your Snorlax 100% will never make the difference between winning and losing a gym fight, realistically. Therefore I'd just go ahead and power it up. The only exception maybe being if you get a lot of Snorlax in your area and you need to prioritise the candy on maxing out the best one.

I have a 76% Dratini I'm probably going to have to resort to powering up to my first Dragonite. Dratini are so rare around me that I doubt I'll get much better, and even if I do, a Lapras/Dewgong/Cloyster will still go through it like a knife through butter.

And congrats on that 100% Spearow ;)

They just adjusted the CP values of most of the Pokemon.

My Gyarados, Rhydon, Gengar, Alakazam, Pinsir, Hitmonlee and Golem all went up loads.

My Blastoise went down. Bah!

Thanks mate, I have gone ahead and powered up the Snorlax. I am going to hold out for a slightly better Dratini, but if I don't get a better one in the next month or so I'll go ahead an evolve and power up the 82 IV one I already have. I had Dratini as my buddy during most of the recent halloween event, so I managed to rack up enough candy.

Also looks like Niantic have just changed the CP's of many Pokemon, so now the usual IV calculators aren't working anyway.

I think they have changed it because it was the same few Pokemon dominating gyms and they want people to start using other Pokemon, thus playing the game more.

You'd have thought so, but they've increased the CP of pokemon like Vaporeon and Snorlax which were already filling gyms

Yeah I heard about it. I thought that it stopped working after you evolve one in any way but I'm sure that could be wrong. Doesn't matter now!

Most of my shit went down.. my Jolteon is the only real winner.

An aerodactyl silhouette just showed up second on my nearby list, so I went out into the pissing rain to try to catch it. Wandered in every direction for five minutes, got soaked and returned still dactyl-less. I really miss fastpokemap.

A double XP event coming:
"Starting on November 23, you will earn 2X the amount of XP and Stardust throughout your adventures."

Never ever made use of the tracking sites but could use them now. Dont want to walk aimlessly when I see something appear, would be nice to know where to walk.

Seeing a lot of Rhydon's in gyms this morning. My Rhydon went up from about 1500 to 2300.

Anything interesting updated in the last month? I got to 143 on the pokedex and basically stopped playing...

It seems like pokestops don't give you XP anymore if your bag is full. Another minor gripe, but my bag is near-perma full and it kills off the points from c10 stops en route to work.

Did it use to give you XP? I thought if your bag was full, and you spun it, it would just give a message saying full bag.

Also best to use your lucky egg during the Thanksgiving special coming up. Will give you 4XP

Used to give you normal 50 XP. That's why I noticed. I saw there's another upgrade but my phone has zero memory left. Not sure what else I can delete.

Bah caught about 20 low level Pokemon already this morning and no Ditto.

What they should have done is had it spawn as a legendary or Mew/Mewtwo then transformed after catching it.

yeah but if they did that as soon as anyone saw one of those they'd know they were getting a ditto, this way you've no way of knowing i suppose
its certainly motivated me to catch everything again though, i'd got bored of the endless ratata/weedle/pidgey/zubat yawnfest

I have a feeling they added the ditto to deliberately reduce players' stashes of pokeballs. I must have gone through 300 or more in the last few days catching all sorts of useless stuff.
