Points countdown until top 4 is secured | 1 point left, 2 games to go | Can almost taste it...!

We need 9 points from 6 games and you are all shitting bricks questioning our players' mettle. How about yours?

You're right. The title of the thread is a bit of an insult to Brighton as it's implying they have no chance of winning all their remaining games.
They don't. They go away to Villa, Arsenal and Newcastle and play city at home. Their biggest win streak this season is a whopping 3. Brighton won't get close, though they are a good side. Fixture list would be impossible to be perfect through even if you were City.

Liverpool will probably win their remaining games though, or close to it.

I have mentally switched off already 2 weeks ago, top 4 is in the bag, why the doubting?

Nobody's ignoring that it's technically possible. It's also technically possible that I'll be the #9 at United next season.

Brighton need to beat Arsenal, Newcastle, and City in the next month, with two of those clubs fighting tooth and nail for an EPL title and the other trying to stay in the top 3. The chances of that happening are only marginally better than my chances of being in the United team next season.

The thread title was clearly misleading and factually incorrect imo, as much fun as it is to watch some of you try and gaslight Colin

So if United win tonight, it’ll fall from 11 points needed to 6 points needed?
Yes. The factual corrected police would force title editor to then adjust the countdown back to Liverpool potential max point tally!

Our football is crap, especially away from home, can't really do more than guess how this sorry playing team will turn up on Sunday.

How many of our final matches are away?

Because we won't score in any of those, which is worrisome.

2 away games (West Ham, Bournemouth). 3 home games (Wolves, Chelsea, Fulham).

Man, it would feel better if the next game was at least at Old Trafford. We can't seem to perform consistently away from home. In fact, our only somewhat comfortable win away from home this season was the recent 2-0 against Nottingham Forest.

I’m almost sure we won’t pick up more than 2 points from our trips to West Ham and Bournemouth (I expect us to lose both) but I reckon we should be able to win all our home games. Wolves and Fulham have nothing to play for and Chelsea is a free 3 pointer these days.

Bournemouth is safe with nothing to play for. West Ham is just about there as well. So at least that works in our favor.

The away games we got left are fine. 2 from bottom 8 and west ham might have an eye on the conference league match.
We should beat wolves and Fulham.
And Chelsea if lampard is still there

West Ham - their cup final, Moyes up for it, away from home -> L

Wolves - home, Wolves hopefully not much to play for -> W

Bournmouth - away from home, pretty good run of form -> D

Chelsea - home game, Chelsea a mess (hopefully) -> W

That would mean we’d still HAVE to beat Fulham who are playing well

Depends if liverpool drew or lost a game we wouldnt

They have Brentford, Leicester, Villa & Southampton left. They’ll win all of them.

At least Brighton have Arsenal, City & Newcastle to play.
Liverpool are more than capable of a few stinkers there

Liverpool will win all remaining games.

I think that if we don't win on Sunday then it'll go to the final game of the season. Chelsea will get their only away point under Lampard at OT

It will be West Ham’s Cup final

Yeah, I was joking. The way we're playing away from home, we don't have a f*cking hope of winning this game. Can't score, can't keep possession in midfield and the defence/gk always have a ricket in them no matter how well they appear to be playing (witness Shaw's handball tonight).

West Ham will be targeting this as the game to all but guarantee their survival before their Euro semi final. I'm expecting 100 miles an hour from the start from them, lots of balls in behind our defence and crosses into our box, they'll smell our vulnerability from a mile away.

9 points from 5 games. Three wins? Can’t see it the form we’re in
That was before today, thus 6.

In any case, the least likely win out of the lot. We only just drew these lads 0-0 over 120 minutes not playing at their ground, remember?

If we can't get 9 points against the shower of shite we are facing next then we deserve nothing really.

100% agree. Brighton away was hands down our most difficult fixture. If we could afford a loss, or expected to drop points it’s there.

We really should be disposing of the rest, especially the home games. Beat West Ham, and this doom and gloom disappears.

Yeah, I know, I was just providing an update

Won 3, drawn 1, lost 1, in our last 5 Prem games.
Yeah and hopefully we’ll be ok but I do feel that our form is trending downwards, with the rigours of the season starting to be felt as fatigue more and more.
