Pogba out for 4 to 6 weeks | No Megathreads

If he is out for the Liverpool game, which is looking more than likely, then it'll be interesting to see how Jose goes into that game. I would have expected Jose to go conservative for that one, but without Pogba that becomes much more difficult - look at last weekend as an example of our inability to successfully hold on to the ball whilst attempting to contain the opposition. Sure we got away with it there, but that probably wouldn't be the case against better opposition.

Could be mind games. I mean we havent heard anything about surgery or anything, which you would have thought he'd had by now. But it could be a really bad muscle injury that needs time to heal.

As a famous number 7 used to say "only god knows"

So that's half a season wasted then

Matic has to be stay fit and absolutely carefully managed now. Can't afford to have him down as well
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Two most vital players who are still fit? Matic and Romelu, I'd say. Fellaini not far behind.

I think the formation from mid week may br deployed. A 343. With 3 CBs, wing backs and two defensive CMs in matic and herrera that is a very solid base. Miki, lukaku and another left to attack.

It's not mind games lads, when was the last time Jose did this and hide an injured player date of return cause I don't remember? It seems a real long term injury, read somewhere it's about 6 months!

But what is that mysterious injury, whats the point of concealing the actual injury. I just don't get it ...

Only reason I could think of would be that if it's a real long-term injury, they might want to hide the true extent of the injury to the rest of the team(confidence issues). Maybe after we play the big teams and come out unscathed, he'll announce the real time scale. Really hoping that isn't the case and that it's purely to play with the minds of Klopp and Liverpool..

What on earth? For a hamstring injury? It'd have to be the most severe one ever for that!

6 months ? what's next then ? He's going to retire soon ?

He was fecking dancing around on Insta like a week after his injury, I doubt he's super long term.

Watched the interview, don't think he meant long term as in months or anything, he just meant he isn't someone that he's hoping would be fit for saturday.

I think we're looking at weeks rather than months.

Imagine if Pogba turns out for Liverpool game. Klopp would talk about it for months just like the famous offside goal.
Imagine if Paul turns up, on a windy - rainy day and we score an offside goal. Jesus, that setup for klopperino. :))

This is rather confusing, I read that his injury wasn't a 'bad' injury per se from the specialist doctor, who is also treating Dembele.

That the muscle can heal naturally and it wouldn't need surgery, however he did advice Pogba and United to go ahead with the surgery so the problem would not reoccur.

So is he having surgery or not?

Sorry I’m crap with riddles.

When is Fellaini back? It should be him and Matic if Pogba is still not fit.

If it was truly serious, it would have been announced I think.

Do you think they can prevent Pogba from talking to his teammates via the numerous possible ways ? I don't think so.

What i got from the presser is that Jose just did what he has been doing since the injury. He obviously does not want to discuss Pogba's return date and just dismissed the question by refusing to comment on the players that are definitely out for the palace game. I still wouldn't read too much into it.

Big miss for us, whn you consider our midfield options - Carrick and Matic have needed to be rested in the past, Carrick is basically past-it anyway and Matic will need to be kept wrapped in cotton wool. Fellaini injured, Herrera will get burnt out, I can see McTominay getting some gametime soon and Lindelof being used as CDM to rest Matic might not be far off either.

The chelsea match? is that what the early predictors were indicating?

FFS, we do miss him. But at least he is getting a rest and will/should have a pep in his step in the back end of the season. The Big Felli is doing ok in his absence(so far) and Herrera is starting to get back a bit of form that comes from game time. Thats as much positive as i can draw from the situation.

If he is injured for 2-3 months the only positive is he will be fresh second half of the year to play week in week out.

I’m not sure he’ll be that big a miss against Liverpool away however Spurs at home we could do with him back for (so he can boss Dier again)

So it seems Pogba is recuperating in the US now according to the Mail.
He was seen in Miami with the same "mystery blonde" he was spotted cuddling with in LA during pre-season tour.

I think he'll miss Liverpool match but will be available for Chelsea (and hopefully Spurs) match.
