I'm optimistic of building a proper working unit of a midfield once he leaves. All honestly I'll prefer this than building your midfield on an inconsistent top class midfielder with defensive deficiencies and needs too much of a setup to work.

If we manage this deal right, replace him with working midfielders and build a proper team I can see us emerging of this deal as winners.

If the quotes are true, then I'm glad that all this nonsense has come out and we can move on. As much as I don't want to see Pogba leave United, I see this as a similar situation to when Coutinho left Liverpool, albeit him leaving in January.

Klopp used to play Coutinho either as a left winger or left sided centre midfielder/10, and as good as he was, since he's left Liverpool, it's safe to say they haven't really missed him.

Not only that, but they play in a different way. Klopp replaced Coutinho with Mane an put a hard working midfielder in such as Fabinho, Kieta. Yes, it means they sometimes struggle for creativity, especially if their front three aren't firing, but they just seem to have a better balance.

Now, I don't know if it's going to be the same situation with Pogba, but with the money we could potentially get for him, plus the money we already have to spend, we could get some quality players in.

Ole has to take his time and find players that fit his system (i'm expecting it to be a 4213). Not only that, but hard working players who are hungry to play for Man United.

Yes. It's not ideal, but it's better than trying to replace him at this stage of the season. Plus he still has to play well enough to earn his move.

I'm not a big fan of Pogba. I don't like his attitude, and I don't think his style of play is best suited here. I just think it's a problem worth delaying given our priorities elsewhere this summer.

Keep him another season? Why on Earth would we keep a player who thinks he's "the man" but gets totally out played by Mark fecking Noble? I'm tired of players like Pogba who are only concerned about themself. The sooner he's gone the better...

I can understand not wanting to keep him because of his perceived attitude. But even if it does affect his form, I think he would still be better than whomever we can bring in this summer. Or worse yet, because Real Madrid cannot afford him outright this summer, we end up doing a swap deal for another unsuitable player.

As for the Mark Noble comment, I cannot defend Pogba's inconsistency. It comes down to whether you agree he's our best creative player over the course of a season, and whether you are prepared to lose such a player without adequate replacement.

I am agreeing with that part, if we do sell him though, you can bet we will invest heavily in the midfield. What I can’t say with certainty is if they will go for profiles or just commercial names. It’s extremely hard to determine who’s calling the big transfer shots.

Of course we can milk as much as we can from the deal money wise, but keeping him unhappy won't help anyone, not even the club. He will sulk hard next season for not getting what he wanted and his value may drop next season and can end up selling him for less than what we would have sold him this summer. If he asks to leave, the wise solution will be to sell him for something like 140m, or player swapping.

I'm curious to know which clubs could actually afford to spaff £150m+ on Pogba - I can't see any of the Spanish teams having that much money to work with given other dealings and the Italian teams are notoriously cheap (Ronaldo aside). PSG maybe? I don't see why he would go there though.
