If sky are to believed (which I'm not sure about) then...

A- why would cancelo be part of the deal? Sky say we are seriously in for awb?

B- when did juve get so mega rich to afford pogba on top of Ramsay's wages, Ronaldo's wages etc?

Or is it just bull and he's off to Madrid?

Good luck to him let's see how long he is flavour of the month in that circus when he produces half arsed performances . He showed flashes of brilliance this year but nowhere near consistant enough . Also very telling how he speaks about how good he is when the team struggled so much . Will never be a leader on or off the pitch

I for one have no issues with the comments I’ve read he’s made.

The agenda against this young man & the undertones of narratives taken on & often led by our own ‘fans’ means I wish him well when he leaves.

We’re heading into a season where Matic & Fred will get significant game time in our midfield yet Pogba’s attitude is the issue. Forget that his performances/statistical output speak to the contrary, he must be disinterested cause he doesn’t fit a stereotype.

We’re about to sell our best player & are begging the likes of Mata to stay but he posts cliches on his blog so he must be bothered.

Absolute joke of a club - at a time where we should have rallied alongside one of our own we have people trying to justify selling our best talent whilst being so deficient aside his presence.

Just a more balanced midfield would do with decent squad depth. Matic is shit, Fred hasn't found any form yet, Herrera has left and McTomminay has been our most consistent midfielder all season. Some balance and ability to move the ball around quicker would vastly improve us. We don't really need another like for like midfielder who's going to hold the ball up on the edge of his own box and score penalties.
If we were to get Bruno, Rabiot and Lo celso, with the money for Pogba, I think we would be a better team. It reminds me of the Coutinho situation - albeit Liverpool were in a better position than us now. it’s just a bit nervy we have to trust the money reinvested will be done with creativity in mind and not commercial interests.

Absolutely agree. This is whats best for the team overall.

Watch him go a level or two up, once he gets his move.

If he joins Madrid then no shit. He's at a club with much better players right now and he'll have less pressure on his shoulders.

Say what you want about Pogba, but he and DDG are the only world class players we have at the club. Losing him, this summer will be a massive, massive blow.

Same as Lukaku. He can feck off if they pay up at least 180m. Anything below that, he can stay another year.

Angling for the Juve move literally days after Raiola's ban is lifted.

United have to stand firm on price. He can go, because the rebuild we have to undertake dates back to 2009.

Losing Pogba is a blow, but better players have left. Players with a close bond to the club and fans have left.

It's not the end of the world, but we know the rat Raiola is going to make this awkward as hell.

Agreed but there’s no point keeping a player who isn’t going to fight for the cause and maybe unsettle the dressing room.

I think this still can be salvaged, both from the team point of view and from Pogba’s point of view, and the solution is to sign Griezmann. Hear me out.

While management looks to rebuild/reload through a different approach going forward, signing Griezmann would not only inject much needed proven quality to our attack, it’d also appease Pogba, buy us another season or two until the new crop of talent can set in, and send a signal to our players and fans there’s a present and a future in this organization.

I don’t think Pogba has categorically ruled out coming back. With his fellow pal and country man looking forward to in the dressing room, we’d not only keep our best talent, but be in better position to compete and attract more quality, as we look into a different United squad in say five years from now.

Thats just bullshit really. Fred never got a sniff even against the fodder and by a lot of reports were looking for midfielders anyway, so those two will not be our midfield stalwarts next season.

Guy with a huge ego wants out of a club that can only be described as average right now.

We're quite clearly not at the level he expected us to get to when he joined and I don't blame him for wanting to leave.

He's still a massive bell end though and don't think it would be the end of the world if he leaves as long as we don't get bent over in regards to the transfer fee.

Not remotely arsed tbh. For all the talk of us being gutted when he’s great for his next club - see Tevez for an example of a player who goes up a level, leaving behind supporters grieving for the version of a player they never had - bear in mind how utterly disinterested he’s been for long stretches of the last three years. There’s plenty of blame to go around, not just this self-hating guff people are a posting on here. We paid a fortune for someone who was no better than decent over that time. The concept of Pogba is more difficult to replace than the actual performances. Both parties were probably entitled to expect better.

Agreed but there’s no point keeping a player who isn’t going to fight for the cause and maybe unsettle the dressing room.

Same could have been said about loads of players who've expressed their desire to leave in the past and thats not happened. Hazard, Coutinho, Alderweireld, Bale for example.

Ultimately when you're in a rebuild period and have a very important summer the last thing you need is your pivotal outfield player to request a transfer.

Really important we handle this sort of thing right, obviously.

Pogba is not Ronaldo, he's a million miles away from being as impactful here as Ronaldo was. Selling Pogba with the right replacements is very likely to improve us on the pitch, especially in the big games where Pogba tended to flounder.

Obviously it depends on who the deal is with, Juve or Madrid, and any potential player swaps. But other than Pjanic neither side really has any like-for-like Pogba replacements they could offer.

So get the deals for his replacements lined up, ie. two players from Lo Celso, Fernandes and Maddison.

If, for instance, we sign Lo Celso and Maddison and make sure the Pogba fee covers the payments for both, we've done good business imo. Obviously we could also look to include Cancelo in any deal if Juve are involved.

Yeah it really is insane how much dirt he gets from our fans. In my opinion it is understandable that he wants out, at the moment the club is not showing anything to make anybody believe that we will challenge in the near future. He has not been perfect by any means but he is still our best outfield player for crying out loud.

What a mess. I'm so pissed at this club right now. Have to hope for the best though.

Not arsed if he stays or leaves, I mean I don't care if we lose any player from this squad. Just replace them and move on. No one showed they are irreplaceable players.

It'll be fun to see Madrid fans boo the hell out of him when they see his real performance on the pitch not the few passes he makes for his YouTube compilation video.

Just get as much money as possible from him and if we can a player in exchange and he can feck off for as much as I care.

Great post

Just hope we replace him properly.
Like someone has said previously - we’re struggling to recruit the top players as is. How the hell are we going to bring in quality of this level when the only world class player is on his way out?

Very concerning.

Not too bothered as long as the fee is good, he's been too inconsistent to be a huge loss and I'm sure he is replaceable. No point in having him stay if he desperately wants to leave.

It’s fair enough if he wants to leave and we shouldn't be scared of letting him go. Get the deal done and bring in the replacements.

As the Yanks say, go figure.

Wow just wow. That is just rancid.

I wanted to keep him and strengthen in other areas but I cant believe he would come out with that statement.
I would like to see him gone now, but he needs to be sold for his matket value. None of the low offers he expects or Real Madrid want to pay. He has been touted about by his agent and never disagreed with statements. He is a world class performer on his day but he is widely inconsistent. I feel that to many excuses have been made for him, he needs better players etc.. he is a luxury player who does not improve those around and his decisions on the field of play like his decisions of it are generally not good for Manchester United.
He needs to be told he will go only when the club get the value they want, and if not he can train by himself for the year. This time the club are in the best position of strength and should not accept a low offer for him as an asset

Honestly if we invest the money wisely we'll be better off. He is not a player to build a team around, he'll do better in a team like Madrid where he won't have to be the one to carry the team since he'll have players like Hazard picking up the slack. I'm tired of the constant circus around him, why keep a player that obviously doesn't want to stay? Another year of relying on him isn't going to change things, especially now he'll be kicking up a fuss.

Unfortunately under our owners the money probably isn't going to get invested well at all. So very depressing.

Of Fred, Matic & Pogba who is the best midfielder? I’d safely say Pogba.

Yet with this we’re still not good enough or near good enough.

So we sell Pogba [comfortably the best of the 3] & replace him with another player who is better than Matic-Fred & we’re in a similar position as this season.

I’ll actually somewhat take the point on Fred, though his gifting of possession to the opposition doesn’t leave me hopeful his ceiling will ever really be that high so let’s say Fred improves; i doubt it’ll be to Pogba’s 10+ goals & assists level.

No issue debating but read what’s written & discuss or don’t reply.

You don’t keep buying a new TV every other season & plug it into a VHS & out dated sound system. You buy a new TV, you upgrade to a HD service & you get surround sound.

If you think we’re selling Pogba & will fund a new midfield then I disagree but next time you call me on bullshit come with more than Fred not being given a sniff & he might be better. Pogba is comfortably better, we’re about to sell him & replace him with a likewise better than the aforementioned midfielders, you don’t win things that way.

Hence, why I used the word hope. Can't say I think we do what's necessary this summer, unfortunately.

This is 100% what will happen. He will be though be surrounded by other quality players wherever he goes, which will obviously make him look better than he is.

I believe we are cursed at the moment & i don't know how we can lift it. We've bought proven players who have turned to shit as soon as they put the jersey on. We appointed 2 managers who had won everything in the game yet none of them have mounted title challenges.

I don't think many would have predicted anything other than Pogba being a success here. The fact he's proved to be a spectacular flop just show's how things aren't falling for us.
