We really are not lowballing anyone though. They just want us to pay 10-15m more than the fair fee.

No, they set a fee or a release clause.

We then offer 10-15m under that and obviously they laugh at us and say nah.

We're lowballing them. Ed hasn't been bothered about over-paying for players in the past and the other teams know that so we might as well just suck it up and pay the fees they want for the players we need/want.

Yes I get that it's horrible business acumen and we need to bargain and barter because that's what business is but we're shit at it and we end up without the players we want and the rest of the world looks at us and laughs and whacks the price up even more so we might as well just commit to buying the team we want.

Rather than be bitter about it, put yourself in his shoes.
An underperforming team, managed by an unproven manager, heading into a new season after finishing 30 points off the pace.
You're judged on making assists, and your targets are Big Narstie, who can't control the ball, two Academy lads, struggling to hit a barn door, Mr Enigmatic, who never runs behind, and washed up Jack Russell with 3 legs.
You've been getting blamed for their inadequacies.
The club then dither about getting replacements, only signing a youngster from a lower league, so far.

I'm a fan, and I'd want the feck out of there.
We are looking closer to a relegation fight than a title race right now.
If we don't make some decent signings soon, it is going to look like that to potential targets too.

Tbf how many times did hazard say this before he eventually left?

Anyway sod him, if he wants out let him go.

He’s my favourite player but we need commitment right now. Get ndombele and Fernandes with the money.

If he's still here come January, has hardly played a minute, Juventus, PSG, Barcelona sniffing around, Madrid will find that cash from somewhere.

Maybe and i meant next summer transfer window, winter one is a bit of a joke.

Let him leave but next summer. Its inevitable at this point just the question when. Lets face it, we wont get any replacement at all if he leaves this summer, you can count on that with Woody and who players in their right mind come to United now? It just need better planning but thats seems impossible right now.

If he’s not motivated to play for the club then sell him. No point keeping him against his will either, just to prove a point about contracts. He’s adept at playing the media game and I’d prefer he leaves (preferably before pre season starts) and we focus on the rebuild rather than having constant speculation.

Don’t think we should look for one more season either (a la Ronaldo) we've A huge rebuild either way so best that we look to start from scratch.

What Ive been saying all along. You cant possibly blame Pogba for wantimg to leave. It would be strange if he wanted to stay.
But we only have ourselfs to blame.

If he stays and plays like he can't be arsed he's no use to us.

Get on with it Woodie 8 out 6 in.

I just looked and you're right. You can still get Herrera and Valencia though so I doubt it's the club sending any sort of message.
Here is it for those who missed it:

So.....inconsistent or not, United's win percentage is clearly higher when Pogba played than without him. If United sell him, then a CM of the same caliber has to be signed.

Makes Ole looks bad (or at least with questionable judgement) after he went out on a limb to defend Pogba and said he wanted to build team around him. Not ole's fault but its clear not all the players are behind him.

So hes doing exactly what Madrid wants him which is to pressure them into a sale, this is a classic move from them. If they pay up I have no issue with him leaving as long as we get to bring in replacements.

We might as well close the gates after this. Wooward can't sign anyone who will help us improve , and Pogba, De Gea and Rashford not looking to stay.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Just a more balanced midfield would do with decent squad depth. Matic is shit, Fred hasn't found any form yet, Herrera has left and McTomminay has been our most consistent midfielder all season. Some balance and ability to move the ball around quicker would vastly improve us. We don't really need another like for like midfielder who's going to hold the ball up on the edge of his own box and score penalties.

Always the voice of reason.

Thanks but I do share some nonsense with some my hot takes.:)

The issue with Pogba is that he has done exactly what I expected him to do and that's why I thought that he wasn't worth his transfer fee in the first place, I like the player but I would never build a team around him and since we are far from having a complete team he may as well leave. Now I will always defend his actual performances for us, he has been our best player alongside De Gea and that's not debatable.

A laughable prospect under current management

Considering raiola is involved, would you take losing pogba to Madrid or juve if it meant de ligt came here?
Yes. I think it isn't the be all and end all if he goes. I believe he's replaceable

Spot on

And who is that exactly?
Fergie definitely said it about Beckham, think maybe Ince as well? There's a couple I would imagine but he's always spoke about player power. For example, he insisted and had a deal with the board that the manager should always be payed more than the players otherwise it undermines his position.

He lost his shit the day he found out Rooney got a pay rise and was on more than him so went into the office and demanded a new contract the same day, which he got. Part of the reason Rooney was being shown the door.

Can you all stop going on about the shirt not having Pogba as an option on the site.

The long sleeve one has the option and so does every other shirt.

Big fan of pogba but I cant be arsed with all this drama, its b. If he wants to go let him go. He wont be sorely missed by us like ronaldo was and he wont be as good for madrid as Ronaldo was.

I always thought Pogba was Jose's order just like Zlatan. But alas, Woody it is.

Jose wanted Pogba when he was at Chelsea. But Pogba refused. Pogba only wanted United with or without Mourinho. But since he became a scapegoat, he prefers to leave ;)

Watch him go a level or two up, once he gets his move. No dicking around. Just get rid of him. He's done this to himself, but I still believe that the media also has a huge role in this and everything that has to do with our club. They amplify everything.

As a lot of other posters have said... We won't recruit anything decent with the money.

Completely understandable why he would want to leave. Pogba would be stupid not to see the hate and under appreciation he gets from the fans and club legends also gets very little protection from the club. In these times of social media he must know many of our fans want him gone. Soo many players have been crap the whole season but no-one is "attacked" more than him. If he ends up at madrid, those who think fans will be on his back need to rethink. He won't be the only one carrying the team. Hazzard and others will be there. How many games did we lose points because our attacking clowns couldn't finish chances he created yet he was vilified because he did not score? The fans devaluing him to anything less than 180mil have no best interests at heart. We get offered players at ridiculous prices time to return the favour. Unsavoury too that this Pogba dislike started from the Scouse heavy media and our fans swallowed it.

Hopefully we can convince him to stay for one more season. With him in the side, I think we can get CL football and if we get top 4, we'll be in a better position to replace him.

We already will be going through a lot of changing this summer, so I feel like selling him now will be a massive dent for us.

People criticise him a lot, but he's by far our best outfield player.

Fair-weather

We'll have finished 10th place without Pogba. Good luck to his replacement to carry this mediocre squad.
