I don`t understand why we should get more than Barca paid for Coutinho , just because they massively overpaid doesn`t mean everyone else should use that as a benchmark . Said it at the time , the Coutinho money was top business from Liverpool , he was not worth anywhere near that amount .
I also don`t understand people defending Pogba and saying they don`t blame him , wasting his best years , should be in the champions league etc . He signed a lucrative long term contract to be part of a rebuilding process and has now decided he can`t be arsed . No matter how good technically he is we will have to sell as he has already mentally checked out and is no good for a team that has got a difficult season ahead .
I for one won`t miss him , attitude stinks .
Because we don't have to sell and Madrid are desperate for him. He can sit on the bench until January and they can take another bash if they like?

Ultimately the wrong time for pogba to be at Utd with the club the way it is. Good luck to him moving but I hope he fails at real

We won't. Coutinho's performances were better than anything Pogba has done for us. And Hazard's on a different level again, the only difference is the contract length.

£150m minimum.

Who can afford him, plus his wages (290k per week)?

Madrid have just spent £300m.
He's willing to take a cut in wages to join Real. That's how much he wants to go. We will then need 3 midfielders and have less than 8 weeks to do all our transfer needs.

Yeah I bet.

I hate Juve with a passion. Nearly as I hate Liverpool. However there's no denying that they have a great admin team in place. At least they did when marotta was there

He's basically said he wants out and people still think we're in a position to demand £150 million?

Hazard went for 100 million with a year left on his contract and he’s been opening flirting with Madrid for years.

I am astonished buy how little a shit I give. Some of you are behaving like we are losing a player that has let us to countless trophies.
The who team needs to be rebuilt. Don't care who leaves.

Exactly, he's an excellent player don't get me wrong. He isn't a guy you build a team around though and his "brand" far exceeds his actual ability.
My issue with the whole situation is not that he's leaving, it's my lack of belief in Woodward and Company to do what's necessary to rebuild properly.

Edit: I'm far more concerned about De Gea leaving than Pogba.

Pogba has not yet forced a move. If Real or Juve come in with the cash, he will be sold. Not otherwise.
I think if we strengthen the squad and build the team around him, he will feel differently end of the season.
Unfortunately, it is in his best interests to leave with Woodward around. Pogba is many things, but a liar is not 1. The Glazer family are very friendly with trump and are seemingly deploying his tactics of:
1. Install cronies
2. Under invest in the team from structural perspective
3. Sweat the assets
4. Give conflicting messages
5. Cay

Precedent with Coutinho and Hazard (they're getting up to £133M for him despite having one year left on his contract and being two years older) says yes. He's got two more years on his contract with the option of a third that is activated on our end. He can act up and throw his toys out the pram all he wants. If they don't meet our valuation he's going nowhere.

Every man and his dog could see that Barca overpaid for Coutinho. Such a sentiment was plastered all over the thread in this very forum. Not a good comparison.

Hazard could reasonably be believed that he'd perform to a good standard if he stayed. Chelsea we're in a good position.

We keep Pogba and what do we get? Another season or two of up and down performances and complaints of the virus "downing tools". Half the fans don't even want him to play. Anyone that thinks keeping him and letting him rot is downright stupid. I'll be surprised if we get more than £100 million for him.

We're fecked either way.

All good it just seems it's kind of Pogba before the club in this instance.

So there is a possibility we ll lose DDG and Pogba while Jones, Smalling, yong, Lingard and co are going to remain here? Niiiiiiceeeee

Well, he is a very good player but he isn't transcendental, there is no reason to lose our minds over one player.

This is very true, but we’ve usually been in a healthier position, a position of relative strength. Our state is very worrying.
I agree and I completely understand the pessimism but having the best players isn't always the answer if those players are a toxic influence.

I've liked our supposed targets this summer, seems like we've got a strategy and vision for once instead of a scattergun approach we've had previously. I'm not going to get pissed off today about transfers with 50 days left in the window but lets just see how we look and play over preseason before we talk about the sky falling in.

Plenty of time yet to steady this ship.

Pogba’s new challenge in 2012: Juventus
Pogba’s new challenge in 2016: Man Utd
Pogba’s new challenge in 2019: Juventus

Time to sell. You can't rebuild with a player who doesn't stop talking. Pogba out and reinvest with likes of rabiot, fernandes, madison, lo celso, tielemans, longstaff, joao felix. Could get a mix of 2-4 of those to replace the circus. Possibly likes of isco also.

He said "I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else. I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

Haha drama queen, there is no chance glazers are sanctioning his sale unless 180m cash offer comes in.

He is not okay with the pay cut he will be forced to take as a result of a massive half-arsed finish to the season by all these players now wants to chicken out after being exposed in the league.

I agree patience is needed, if we get to the start of August and things are still a bit of a mess, I think a bit more ranting and raving is justified.

I wouldnt back down from asking price not a single penny less, if they cant afford it, give them whole season to gather money for next transfer window. Also dont understand why some are surprised, you people forgot how we got him.

Absolutely, if we're a fecking mess come the first game of the season there should be mass protests but I'm all in favour of giving people enough rope to hang themselves with. A witch hunt needs to be justified.

If he's still here come January, has hardly played a minute, Juventus, PSG, Barcelona sniffing around, Madrid will find that cash from somewhere.

Very interesting if we lose Pogba. Him and De Gea are the only two world class players in the team and potentially both are going.

If we don't buy anyone world class then will this be the first time in awhile that we have zero world class players in the team? We would literally become a team full of mid table players (unless someone comes in that is good and ready, not just potential)
