Probably the best course of action for everyone involved. Real Madrid obviously decided to insult us with 80m offer, so Juve's initial bid of 120m can easily be negiotated to 140m in my opinion - still a hundred million below his real value, but that's the best we'll get I'm afraid. Unfortunately, there's no way back for Paul at this point. He's taken rather aggressive stance and seems to force his way out of the club. The manner and timing are unfortunate, but it's an understandable decision. We've failed him, the project he was brought to never took off. Personally, I choose to forget this ugly ending (just hoping it's resolved soon) and remember some of those world class performances in Manchester United shirt.

I know we're all a bit agitated right now, but don't be surprised to see Paul win Ballon d'Or in couple of years. Return to Juve is perfect for him - familiar club where he's beloved by fans and staff, offensive manager, world class players all around him, and most importantly: leading, legendary personalities like CR7, Buffon, or Chiellini. These veterans won't allow anything else but 100% focus and effort, just like we've seen more focused and disciplined Paul while Zlatan was still here. Where are our veteran leaders now? Ashley Young? Yeah, exactly...
So he's been putting in world class performances for us. It's "unfortunate" how he's handled wanting to leave. He's worth £240m. He's a future Ballon d'Or winner. Yet he needs leaders and world class players to tell him to stop fecking around and put in the effort? All this while it's our fault for not providing the players he needs? You really have to be trolling.

Guys, you do realise this is just public posturing? He’s gone. I can bet my account on it.

If Pogba have a brain he would go back to juventus, because he will have all the tools that he needs. He will have Dybala, Ronaldo and Pjanic, I mean players who will help him when he is not at his best. He will also have a very experienced and a gentleman manager who will improve him offensively and defensively. He should not have left us in the first place. Just come back man and start it from where you stopped.

That’s not really true though. The numbers Pogba provides are better than Scholes did and his international career is already significantly better. Plus the deep-lying version of Scholes formed pretty late in his career. Technically, he can do pretty much everything Scholes did and then some, although he lacks proper mentality and intelligence to maximize his potential.

Most deluded post I've ever read. Scholes and Pogba are no comparable.

Pogba is playing for a international powerhouse, Scholes wasn't.

Scholes was the far superior player, no doubting it.

If he doesn't travel with the squad to Australia and Madrid don't stump up £150m he should be benched all season or be sent on loan to a Championship team until Madrid answer his SOS. Absolutely no chance those jokers are getting him on the cheap despite being done here.

Worst thing we could do is have this virus in our squad this summer. He will drag everyone down around him.

I don't disagree about having a firm stance regarding this cnutish behavior. I'm disagreeing about this rebuild part.

I totally agree mate. He’ll be gone sooner rather than later and good bloody riddance. But what’s even more important than a transfer fee is us not bending over to the demands of a player and unrealistic valuations of a buying club.

No way can United have Pogba in the squad next season, he will undermine the manager and distablise the place with his lack off effort and pathetic attitude.

Nothing's changed, we hold the cards and if they are desperate then they will have to pay up. Just because his agent talked to the press does not mean we have to scramble to offload him at a discount.

it the other way around if a player want out it will eventually happen. Pogba will get his way if he really wants to go it will happen.

My only worry is how we'd use the funds available from the sale.

I just don't trust our current board and Ole to rebuild the team, but I hope I'm wrong.

150 mil + and Pogba is gone to me. Him and his agent are a disgrace.

'I know we're all a bit agitated right now, but don't be surprised to see Paul win Ballon d'Or in couple of years.'

The only Ball Pogba will get is a ball in the googlies as he slowly walks back to defend. He has been an abject failure here and as someone else has pointed out,he will be booed off the field in Madrid or Barcelona, no loafing about there I'm afraid.

If he goes he will go at the price we demand for him. We are in a position of strength. All the rest is posturing because RM can’t afford him.

Ballon d'or really.

He's gotta show far more application to get that sort of recogonition.

Sir Alex had him spot on from day one, we were mugs to fall back into the trap.

Unless this was wrote by Pogba or a family member of his then I'm baffled . There is no hope in hell Pogba will ever win a ballon d'or he is the most over rated waste if space I've ever seen . But because of his image people spout crap about him . Yeah he has talent but so does Milner and guess what at least Milner puts some effort in. I can count on one hand the amount of games he has bossed in 3 seasons. We haven't failed him he has failed us and in a big way . I know Liverpool fans who hoped he would start against them. I will be so happy to see this disease leave United he is a waste of time and effort and sums up everything wrong with our club !

I'm really worried about people's lack of worry about having this guy around the club. He's a huge investment who is capable and willing to down tools and show zero respect for the club.

Yes I agree the key here is try and get as much money for him as possible but the truth be told if we just got out investment back it will be far better for the club than not.

Lukaku, Pogba, Martial and Lingard should go for me, all have showed they've lost focus on what is fundamentally their career, football. Either greedy or lack what we need.

Are the folk over at Juventuz celebrating yet? It took three years but that's some sweet schadenfreude.

Good negotiation tactic there. Sadly his agent will continue to undermine our attempts to get the best price for him.

Will be glad when this oaf and his toxic agent are out of this club and he gains his rightful place as a minor footnote in our history somewhere far below Clayton Blackmore or Ralph Milne

Clayton was - not perfect as a fotballer - always true to the Club and the idea....

that's the right strategy by United here. It's perfectly clear that he can't be a part of the team going forward, but United simply can't afford to blink first und be pressured by Raiola and Pogba. I imagine a strike is next. It's obvious to me that Pogba is more than happy to burn all bridges.

Can't wait for him to be gone. Can only hope there's a somewhat sensible offer by Real/Juve soon ... the sooner this is resolved, the better.

I don't want Juve or Real to push us around.
I don't know the terms. But surely Pogba can be sued for non performance if he refuses to board the plane.

If he refuses to board the plane or join the team then his really got to be stupid as there will be more harm on his end marketing wise, sponsors etc. The club will definitely have to fine him or suspend him in some capacity. No way we should take this likely. Need to sort this out but agreed we shouldn’t be pushed around.

This drama really messes up our pre-season plans leading to the new season.

I believe we will do well without him. We are making some sensible signings and Ole is focused on the task ahead.

This needs to be put behind us one way or another quickly.

My question is given the attitude and obvious flaws in Pogba's attitude, why would Juve or Madrid want to risk 150 million on him.

What options do we have if we are trying to sell Pogba
1. 85m + Isco for Pogba
2. 90m + Douglas Costa for Pogba
3. 150m for Pogba
4. 50m + Pogba for Neymar
5. 40m + Isco + Kroos for Pogba

Why should he show respect to us when he was lied to and the club doesn't respect itself. Don't get me wrong he is a c**t but he doesn't want to waste time at a club with no ambition to challenge for titles. Look at what Juventus and Madrid are doing when they are already better than us. This is what players and fans want from their team. Not buying mediocre young players and hiring managers on the base of 10 games.
Well I look at it in a different way because I would imagine that when a player is brought into a club and commits to a lengthy contract on a monster wage the least a club can expect is that he commits 100% to the club going forward and be the best player he can be for the team.
I do not think it is the role of the player to question the team selection or what the board or manager does as that will take his focus off why he was brought to the club in the first place and given the price paid for the player he should be a driving force to propel us upwards and not a major distraction to the team ethic.
I do recall Pogba saying he wanted to win the Ballon at Utd and yet he has not even won a players award at the end of season function at his own club which tells its own story.
Maybe you have some inside info so can you can enlighten me on what lies the club told Pogba and quote the source?

Pretty much what I've said all season. The only team valuing him in that region is us.

How Ole manages this situation will be very telling and shape up how he is perceived by the rest of the squad and media. He can’t afford to be a pushover in this situation. Riolo already dropped his name and said his aware Pogba wants out. No way a pissed of Pogba peforms for us the whole season without disruption.

Fine him if he doesn’t show up for work. Then sell him to highest bidder. I struggle to believe the management team and boars don’t have a contingency plan for a potential Pogba departure.

Have tried to stay away from this but, someone catch me up. He hasn't showed back up for pre-season and now there is possibility he won't travel to force a move?

If that's the case, if the club hierarchy does not hold fast at this point and give in the way they let that spineless Di Maria leave, we are truly going to be done as a club. We are supposed to be Manchester f'ing United - to be walked over by the player and his agent will be far more detrimental to our long term future than losing out any money and forcing him to stay, even in the reserves. It's going to set a very dangerous precedent as we try to rebuild. We are going to become a complete stepping stone of a club. We get a piece of the puzzle for the long term, we work to rebuild, we don't win and player does well enough in the season for a club that is currently doing well to come him in for him, player revolts knowing that we will just give in. Hell no, can't start that, we better dig in this time.

Even if he stays now, hope we don't give the arm band even as a 5th or 6th choice and certainly not give him penalties, give those to Rashford/Martial. He is touting his statistical season on goals scored but, so many from penalties and even that was after some really shit missed ones. We need to give responsibility to the players that are committed.

Isco + Kroos 110? extremely low price

Isco + Kroos 110? extremely low price

Kroos is 29 and Isco hasn't featured heavily for Madrid... his contribution has been fairly limited for the kind of player he is.... Kroos could be valued at 50m while Isco whose still 27 is probably worth around 60m.

I'm very intrigued to see what he says as well. He backed Pogba unconditionally and I imagine he has to feel at least a bit let down by this
