I heard good things about the IQ on Horizon Forbidden West on the Pro and it didn't let me down! It's insane.

It's just a shame that the game isn't really my cup of tea, these days.

I bought 1tb of extra storage. That should see me through the rest of this gen.

IQ?

After absolutely adoring Elden Ring I'm now playing Dark Souls 1 Remastered.

Thoroughly enjoying it. If anyone wants to throw some Sorcerer tips my way go ahead!

Pretty sure @Redlambs says that’s cheating
Playing it easy isn't always cheating, ask your mum.

Just like in Elden Ring, don't always think the new magics you have access to are better. But they are more often than in ER.

Same with the catalysts, if I remember right the Sorcerer's one lasts you for most of the game.

Image quality.

Btw, it took me way longer than it should to install that SSD. Like, 20 minute battle to get the screw to catch it.

I saw numerous reports of difficulties with the screw on the Pro. Odd oversight by Sony. When I did mine on the OG PS5 I think it took about 20 seconds.

Path of exile 2 is now in early access and is completely brilliant. If you like ARPGs, you won't be disappointed with this. I'm having a blast

I love seeing the ps1 start screen. They need to make this permanent

I wish they had the full old intros. It seems that for each one they just have the original PS1 white intro.

Yes! Love the old UI sounds as well, I went for PS2 as those feel the most iconic, start screen aside.
My memory is too shit to remember which console was my favourite (probably PS4 now that I think about it) but the PS2 will always be the most iconic for me personally. The intro with the boxes, sound and those crystallised shapes - it was all very turn of the century / Y2K in its asthetic. And obviously the fact that we bought it on a family trip to HK and hence spent loads of time being in awe (distinctly remember winning eleven 7 with Japanese commentary) of it in the hotel room, made it more memorable.

Got a PS5 Pro last week but haven't had a lot of time with it until the weekend. There were some concerns about the noise earlier in the thread, but fortunately no issues here.

It's slightly louder than my OG PS5, which was completely inaudible even under heavy load with game audio muted, but it still gets drowned out by low volume ambient game sounds. I'm pretty happy with it.

I’ve been playing Uncharted 4 again as part of the legacy of thieves collection and I’m just blown away that this game came out in 2016. It’s also just such an entertaining game throughout and the sort of blockbuster and spectacle driven game we haven’t had since.

Naughty Dog are a very special studio.

Got to the top of Sen's Fortress last night. What an absolute mare that place is.

My biggest tragedy here (which I had to laugh at) was doing a YOLO sprint right before I got to the roof past the enemies (and that really narrow bridge with the swinging axes whilst that lizard is firing lightning bolts at you), and breathing a huge sigh of relief as I got to that hidden bonfire on the balcony...

...to then die of fall damage cos my health was really low at that point. I died standing NEXT to the bonfire.

Anyway. Got there in the end. Just need to deal with the Iron Golem now. Could do with getting back to Firelink Shrine, is there a quick way of getting there from the rooftop without going all the way back?

Not sure about the best route from the roof, it's been a while, but from the entrance of Sen the shortest route that I know of is straight through the church in Undead Parish, there should be a set of elevators there to take you to the Firelink Shrine.

Had PS1 but haven't bought another PS afterwards. Damn that intro always gets me in the feels so much.

Technically not my first console since we had a SNES before that but the PS1 was the first console I had as a pre-teen so I remember playing that much more. Also lived close to my cousins at that time and every weekend we would get together and play Tekken 3, NFS, 3Xtreme or Circuit Breakers

Loved Tekken. Think the first console we had (or that I remember) was the NES. I’m sure there was a gun peripheral with a cowboy type game.

Have bought every PS since. Did briefly switch from PS3 to 360 but I had 3 (maybe 4) consoles break down with RROD so switched back.

But yeah that intro brings back so many memories - I used to sneak on the console at night when I was in bed and so many times I’d forgotten to turn the volume down so when that intro popped up it was a rush to the remote.

Wild gunman and duck hunt were the gun games. It just have been out for a while when I got the NES but I still remember that so fondly as a little kid.

I actually think consoles are too good these days for kids. We're getting ours a Switch for Christmas but they'll never have the same feeling of new consoles being transformational.

Wild Gunman! That brings back memories.

Does it get better after the bit where you're driving a little 4X4 around the desert? I found that bit so trying that I never returned. I'm reluctant to criticise Last of Us Part 2 in any way, but that slight bit of open world with the horses was a similar and is probably the thing Naughty Dog haven't quite cracked.

I think games are too complicated these days. You have to go through minutes of tutorials to get a hang of them, different to before when you could pick up a controller, look at the button setup and start playing immediately. Also, the lack of ability to play split screen is such a downer for gaming these days. Just not the same feeling playing online like it is with people next to you.

But yea, the transformative feeling with graphics and such is gone. Even games 5 years ago look so impressive and realistic.

There's an elevator in a room to the right of the iron golem boss arena entrance (if you're looking at the entrance). Takes you to the very beginning of Sen's. Then run back to the cathedral and take the elevator to firelink.

You're a very nice person

I’d say it’s one of the most consistent games I’ve played in terms of quality. Those are two of my favourite parts in those games btw. The desert remains the most iconic location of Uncharted 4. Back in 2016, it felt like one of those absurd technical feats.

Alright month for extra subscribers. Sonic frontiers and fist seem to be worth playing. They even threw forsaken in to feck with us.

Any of you PS5 nerds had an issue of random powering down? Happened to my son’s one last week. Basically powers down after 15-20 minutes use. The internet told me that it might be dust/fluff blocking vents deep inside the console. I was far too much of a pussy to take it apart myself so dropped it into a repair shop who stripped it down and cleaned it. Which fixed the issue. For 24 hours. Now whenever the console boots up it a) doesn’t turn on the blue/white LED which runs around the console edge and b) runs the fan VERY fast/loud before powering down every time he tries to run a game (doesn’t happen if just browsing around the OS) I’m obviously bringing it back to repair guy tomorrow but am a bit anxious this is terminal. Anyone gone through anything similar?
