Gaming PlayStation 5

In seriousness though @TheReligion it's probably a weird time to sell, announcement of ps5 pro has probably made anyone wanting to pull the trigger consider waiting, those with a ps5 and wanting the pro selling to 2nd hand places. So the prices will be all over the shop.

Yeah I know. I guess I was just wondering what it’s worth given it’s never been opened etc.

So think I'm getting a PlayStation Portal tomorrow after really struggling to get gametime on the TV the last few months (wife and kids).

Anyone got experience with them here? A bit concerned as I can't connect ethernet to the PS5, but I do have a mesh network so hopefully the connection is solid enough.

I use WiFi and it’s solid. Very occasional lag but never any issues other than that.

It’s great. I have a mesh WiFi kit in the house and it works mostly very well even in the rooms upstairs, but it’s best if you’re in the same room. Haven’t tried plugging the ps5 in at all but people have said it helps, haven’t really felt the need to. Really is a lifesaver with a kid.

I never got round to playing the 2nd one. Why, in your opinion, was the 2nd one worse than the first?

I know you didn’t ask me but it’s hard to match the level of the first game, the story was incredible.

Still a cracking game though. Nicer graphics, more depth to the gameplay, way better face animations, etc.

I’ve got a brand new PS5 and controller, unopened and boxed.

What should it sell for do you think?
This sounds like criminal activity...

They really needed to give it ps premium streaming support. Would already have one if they did....... I'll prob get one eventually.

I’ve had to stop Plucky Squire because of a game-breaking bug. Chapter 9 I defeat all the enemies in the area and then after the lift opens up the characters just stand there. All I can do is throw my sword.

It started out pretty smooth but definitely got more buggy as it’s gone on. A couple times I had to restart areas and other times it sorted itself out. From the prison part in chapter 9 after getting Thrash back the two other characters with me just didn’t follow along. And then dialogue would mention them as if they were there. I broke the game a couple times too just by doing things it wasn’t expecting or trying stuff outside the box.

Enjoyable up to this point though. I really like the scribblenaughts-esque parts where you swap words around. Could play a whole game based on that.

Booted up Timesplitters 2. The nostalgia from just the menu music and noises is already wild. Adored this game. Made back when it was all about fun. Couch co-op, mates round with the multi-tap. So many modes in arcade. Deathmatches, Capture the bag, elimination, shrink, virus, monkey assistant, etc….

So many customisation options too. We used to set up an elimination match, one life, one shot kill and the only weapon was something like a brick

I agree - it looked amazing. The characters also seemed less wooden in Forbidden West. Whereas in Zero Dawn, it felt like only Aloy had a shred of charisma.

Feels like they need at least one strong announcement or the sentiment around Playstation is going to turn pretty ugly. Something like a Ghost of Tsushima 2 could do it and seems realistic enough.

One thing they absolutely can't do after the whole Concord fiasco, is to give Marathon or Fairgame$ a significant presence. It's going to happen anyway, isn't it?

It feels like time to do a Naughty Dog reveal to get some excitement back, even if it's just 30 seconds at the end of the show.

There has been a sufficient amount of hype around this one that I would expect at least one big announcement. Probably Ghosts of Tsushima 2?

Wasn’t expecting to see Soul Reaver. I guess that is kinda cool, but I certainly won’t be going out of my way to get a copy of it on release or anything.

Some of these games leave me scratching my head and asking, “Who the feck is actually playing this?”

This is so lacklustre Jeez

ArchAge looks the most interesting so far and that’s probably a f2p mmo

I'm one of the four people in the world actually interested in playing PS1 Dino Crisis again.

it showed the same ‘enhanced’ games about 3 times to fill the 30 second clip

Enhanced games and remasters galore. It’s been a shit show this gen

Ghosts looks very good but that was a waste of time

Wtf are Naughty Dog even doing at this point?!
