Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

So this is out in America now?. Sucks we all have to wait so much longer in this day and age.

At the electronics shops, I presume. Loads of losers queued up to buy them and the people on the news are laughing at them.

Oi, those losers have waited for like 8 years for the next gen consoles to come out. Better than queuing for a freaking phone.

I'd say, if you don't own a PS3 then buy a PS4. If you have a PS3, i'd wait a few months until the Spring then pick one up, although I imagine there might be some nice January deals. I might pick one up in January if there's a good deal floating about, otherwise i'll wait till Spring.

I'm in London, UK... they aren't even s'posed to be out over here...

What does it do though? I use mine for streaming mostly...haven't played a game on it for yonks now. I'd like another one for streaming in the lounge though so maybe I should just get another PS3 as they will be cheaper now?

You can get boxes which will stream for far cheaper than either PS3 or PS4.

Virgin media in the UK now have a netflix app on their boxes, the US should probably have an equivalent.

Why do I have an advert for UGGs, is it a coincidence that Grinner has just turned up too?

I don't have any PS4 games and don't envisage owning any.

According to the Fry's ad it's $200 for a vita (wi-fi only) and summat about a Jak and somebody pack.

A Vita won't do a thing for you, it won't stream anything as far as I'm aware.

Is there a torrent thingy that you can load onto a PS3 to DL things onto and then playback without having to go through my media server thingy on my laptop? Every time I have Vuze open it slows everything down.

It would be amazing if you could do remote play on the ps vita without having an Internet connection. If you could do that I would definitely buy the vita, and also never get any work done.

You mean.. play PS4 games natively on the Vita? :\

Technically, you could do it over Wi-Fi Direct if close enough, which technically isn't 'the internet' I guess, but I'm assuming you mean away from home.

Yeah basically. I want to be able to play my FIFA manager mode on my ps4 and then take my vita to work (there's no wifi where I work) and pick up where I left off from the ps4.

This is something that could be done but EA are just lazy and haven't supported it yet on Fifa. On some games (e.g. Sly Cooper) you can continue from where you left, you'd just need to have sync the saves whilst at home before leaving the house. I believe that the next Final Fantasy will do it.

Impossible to do unless they produce a downscaled FIFA on a Vita that can play the same save file (it'd be tricky). You can't play PS4 games on a Vita.

Sly is the same on PS3 and Vita, FIFA differs.

I normally wait to get my new console and to be fair I've got quite a few ps3 games I haven't even played yet that I need to still play.

But I've just been approved for an amazon credit card, and if I purchase any single item worth more than £300 in the next 30 days, I get it interest free for the next 13 months.

Is that not just tempting me to go and buy the ps4 already?

Only 3 more hours of work till I get this thing home.

Just offer a manager mode that is compatible with Vita then - like Classic mode on Football Manager.

It doesn't really matter that the gameplay is slightly different on the Vita's version - it's offline so there's no fair play to worry about. It's more than possible with current Fifa manager mode, how does the games being somewhat different matter? Just have you league position, players and what not carry across.

Psn down for maintenance

Not unexpected but still, you think they'd be better prepared.

The launch seems like a massive hassle at the moment. At least a lot of the issues should be sorted by the time the European release comes around.

I'm not liking the reports of high failure rates/DOA machines.

Some apparently getting electrocuted by them.

Hard to know what to believe as fanboy war is at a whole new level on game websites. It's really pathetic.

I just tend to think, why after all these decades of making top quality consumer electrics would they start producing such shoddy equipment? and this at least makes me doubt those stories.

It's only isolated incidents. Sucks to be the ones that got the defective ones, but it's not like it's a crisis.
