Managed to play 1 game of fifa, the intro game, against my brother. Much better then he current gen, everything just runs better and is smoother. Problem is though I get an error when it ray to get to the game actually, he intro works fine and the match at the start is fine, but I can't exit back to menu. I'm assuming/hoping there's an update you have to install, as usually there is, but I can't since the psn is down.

Good luck with your PS4... will buy it next year or so when it's cracked and when better games will be available freely... I'm still amazed by my PS3. Showtime is everything that I need. What can you expect more?I finally got signed in and got my psn all set up but the server is down so all things online are worthless currently. I only really set that up and played a game of FIFA tonight. I'm excited to test out Black Flag and Battlefield. I got those 3 plus COD Ghosts, should I have gotten any others? Quite a few people were talking about Killzone but I've never played it so I wasn't sure if I should go for it or not.

The new NBA 2k14 looks immense - possibly the best looking of all the launch titles. Although, I'm not usually a fan of basketball games, it definitely looks worthwhile.
Uncharted should take a leaf out of the new Tomb Raider book and allow for more exploration and shit.

It's ridiculous. With PS3 you can get older titles for next to nothing. I picked up Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, Burnout Paradise, Spider Man, LA Noire and The Darkness for £50 yesterday. That's what, 150 hours of gaming at £0.33 per hour? Then you have PS+ which is even better value for money.
If you cannot afford new PS4 games then simply wait until you can. There's enough stuff for PS3 to keep you occupied for a long time.

Except I don't, nor do I understand why people would do that when album prices are pretty low and you can get a Spotify/Rhapsody/WiMP subscription for peanuts. Likewise Netflix and Lovefilm.

Seriously, back in the days when you had to pay £15 for an album and iTunes was as expensive I could understand why people would download music in large amounts. Besides it's a bit different with music as artists have other sources of revenue like endorsement deals and - most importantly - gigs. I'd actually think they earn far more through alternative sources and album sales usually fill up producer's account.
These days you can get an access to all music you like for £5 a month, in a much more convenient way than with piracy. You don't need to search for albums, download them to your computer and then transfer them over to your phone - you just search and download anything you like on an app.
I reckon games will head into that direction too. It's not unthinkable that in the future we'll pay £30 or £40 a month for a subscription that will allow us to play anything we like for that period and it'll be mostly Cloud based. PS+ is a huge step in that direction, anyone who bought a PS3 or a Vita a year ago basically haven't had to buy games because they'd get amazing titles for the price of subscription.

Amazon just cut off their before Christmas orders on the 14th so probably sometime after Christmas at the earliest, unless you get lucky with a random store.
It all comes down to this. Music and Film are a different kettle of fish altogether as they have multiple bites at the money tree. Music for example gets the disc realease, it gets royalty payments from TV and radio, legal downloads, legal streaming royalties, it then gets tour/live performance revenue. Film is similar, theatre release, DVD/Blu-ray release, legal downloads and streaming royalties, TV royalties. Games don't work like that, they get one bite and that's it! And in this day and age with the way the big publishers go about things, one single flop and they close down the entire studio. People's livelihoods are at risk and piracy contributes towards that. So yes, dmode is a total wanker.
Simply because I come from a country where the cost of living doesn't allow me to buy "cheap" games at $50.
