Indeed. Obviously a lot of luck involved but to execute it is incredible.
I'm going to have to get back on BF3. My luckiest shot ever was on Caspian Border, just leaving the US Base in a tank I fired a pot shot towards the Gas Station like I always did out of boredom while on my way back into the game and 5 Kills came up on my screen, about 10 seconds later another 3 came up without me firing another shot.
My mate was in a Helicopter above and saw the hit coming in and was pissing himself over the head set, turns out I hit a tank that was carrying 3 people and had two engineers repairing it... it also hit a second tank and they forgot to repair it and it eventually blew up.
A few seconds after that I got kicked, "Reason: Hacker" always makes me smile when you get kicked for "Hacking" biggest compliment ever!

It doesn't really look much better than PS3 in these videos. Combined with the fact it won't even play PS3 games I don't see why anyone would buy it for $399 when PS3 will trade at around $199 at the same time.

I don't get Sony. They've released three of the most popular consoles on the planet with massive game libraries on each of them but their last two systems cannot play games from the previous generation. It'd take a massive Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime to pick a PS4 that can't even play GTA5 and GT5 over a PS3 that probably has more than a hundred 80/100 rated games.
It's all about the money matey.
Sony and M$ shot their load last gen with machines they couldn't afford. And even those were behind the times.
Now, they have to do the best within budget, plus they both have heating problems that make the 360 look like an air conditioning unit.

Well, and this is the sad thing, it's because they tried too much with the last two.
Emulating the Emotion Engine and vector units of the PS2 and the Cell of the PS3 is extremely difficult.
You have to applaud their attempts, but they shot themselves in the foot, because now they have to really try to compete and that's all a problem. We did tell them though.
This is the only real reason why I defend Nintendo on here from people who should no better than don't (my allegiance is actually with Sony, since they gave me my break), they live within their means and they still produce the best games. And after all, isn't it the games that really matter?
So what we get now is Sony and M$ are going to push these features over real improvement and we will buy them by the millions. I said this years ago when arguing with Weaste before the PS3/360 were launched what would happen this gen (it's all here) and I'm not happy to be right.

I see. So why would anyone want to invest in next-gen consoles? I'm cheap, I want to see jaw dropping in game visuals. I dislike being shown photo realistic cut sequences, heck the current ones already have games that contain exactly that, but the likes of Sony seem to treat people like idiots by showing CGI cut scenes. Reminds me when Weastey tried convincing folk that GT5 had photo realistic graphics...
Really? You'd expect better wouldn't you. But anyway that only means the PS4 version won't even be as good as the the version we've seen.
And the Wii U's graphics aren't much of an improvement on the Wii's. How is the new console better, Lambs?
It's insulting to be honest. Games run on a PC, CGI rendered footages, what appears to be a fake HUD overlay etc. They really are taking the piss and showing how hard they really what to shove this next gen console down our throats to save their sorry arses.

I've personally worked hard on an engine, that was later mocked up by the boss and his cheif artist to sit there infront of a monitor PRETENDING to play the actual game, when he was just pressing buttons in time.
It got a feckload of money.
All those pictures Weaste posted were highest res renders, things that would take the actual machine minutes to produce one at a time. Adding AA and all sorts of effects to pretend it's real.
The PC graphics are only as good as the engine, and the engine is made to suit two year old hardware. It's holding graphic development back, we should be way ahead of where we are.
The Wii-U's graphics are comparable to the 360's, slightly better actually because it's got better AA handling and stuff like that. I'm not advocating that over the others, I've never once said in this entire forum what specific machine people should pick out of my own preference (which, btw is Sony as Weaste himself would even admit).
The point is they lived within their means and are focusing on the games as always. They haven't spunked all their money on console wars at the detriment to games and consumers.
Oh I'm not suggesting you're advocating that we buy the Wii U, I've basically gone off some comparisons on YouTube. Okay then, where does Steam Box stand? Will it have better graphics? Or isn't it a commercial machine hence not comparable?
The 'steam box' itself is very unknown.
I don't know much about it to be honest, it's closely guarded and infact likely to not even appear IMO. I've focused on the PS4/720 lately, and it's depressing.
So are we looking at a middle of the road gaming PC, drenched in social media applications, pushing hard towards connectivity, through what is likely to be a restrictive PSN hub.
Would you pay Sony or Microsoft £700-£800 for a console that could match the very best gaming PC setup?

The masses want the consoles to be as cheap as possible. With MS and Sony seemingly unwilling to take a huge loss on each console what was the alternative?
I'm personally remaining optimistic. Both the PS4 and 720 will be significant upgrades on the current gen graphically and that is what the majority of people want.
I'm just pleased that we are still getting actual consoles and not the dreaded cloud fecking gaming.

Oh and this is already cloud gaming mate, it's priming you for it full on. This generation is about getting you to sign up to psn, or M$'s equivalent or whatever. The games are secondary now, and that's something even the most ardent want to be happy fan can't deny.

It will, bar maybe a niche one or two. Maybe Nintendo will have another, but I don't think so.
The world isn't quite ready for Cloud gaming, but will be soon, which is why these new consoles have such a shit shelf life.

tbf I watch replays almost everyday, linking them on facebook is a bit much but I could if I wanted too.

Basically everyone will be wired...playing multi online games. I like single player games, I don't want to hook up and play with spastics from Middlesbrough. Basically just like now but without consoles. Am I right, Lambs? Streaming games indeed.
It's fiiiiiiiiine, there will still be single player games. It's just that 3 years after release EA will get to decide to stop letting you play your game anymore, just buy the sequel and get over it.

So, Redlambs, would you say i'd be better off buying a good PC rather then a PS4/720? I kinda just assumed i'd buy one of them since i've largely been a console gamer but the more i hear about these two consoles the more i think i might be better off ploughing my money into a PC which would be more futureproof (i think ?) than the PS4/720. Especially since the games for these consoles seem kinda uninspiring, so far at least.
