Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Metal Gear Solid PS1. I just had a Google and it seems that some beat it in 4 hrs (speed run) .... Regardless, I used to run it in around 6 hrs, all in a day....

It can be but it's 12 hours on average on a first run so your point is moot.
Didn't take me that long tho. For a game that was well known at the time to be short I'm not convinced by that average.... Maybe people are a lot shitter at games nowadays and the average has been skewed....

You say my point is moot but my point is that it doesn't matter if the games are short if they are well done. So.....

I remember it well at the time and it took about 11-12 hours which I'd say was average at the time, as it is now. If it took you six hours, on your first go, you must have really rushed through it.

Your point is moot because there's a big difference between a 6-8 hour game and a 12 hour game. I wouldn't see 12 hours as short for an adventure game like MGS, nor would I see SotC as being short if it was 12 hours!

God you're persistent.

The bolded bit is false, never said that. For a lot of people MGS will be a 6-8 hour game (a quick Google pulls up loads of examples), for others it won't be. As one of the people that beat it in a few days I thought it was worth the money, unlike gamespot, who I remember being one of the sites slating the length of it at the time.

I remember hearing people talk about the length and thinking to myself 'meh, it was fine for me'. That's the extent of my point, how long this specific game took for you or anyone else to complete, is neither here nor there to me. A well done short game is ok by me.

Would it help you if I used a different game in my post? Ok, pretend I did then.....

I'm just saying MGS is a bad example of a short game because 12 hours, the average, isn't short for a game like that, that's all. You used it in context to SotC when I said it was too short which is almost half the length according to most averages. If you think 6-8 hours is fine for a game as long as it's high quality then that's fine, I have no problem with that ideology!

So how do you determine game length?

Do you count if you die 400 times and have to replay the same 3 minutes and extra 400 times?

Had a few days off work on Monday & Tuesday there so started Persona 5, christ I think I could have played it non-stop for those two days if real life shit like washing, making food, eating and sleeping didn't keep getting in the way. I even missed 30 mins of the Liverpool game last night as I hadn't realised how much time had passed and overshot 8 o'clock slightly

On another note I completed Assassins Creed Origins at the weekend which was bloody great! not too far off the platinum trophy on that one so I may re-visit it to get that.

Shadow of the Colossus remake getting rave reviews. It does look amazing to be fair, and on top of that they've remapped the controls slightly, which makes sense.

I'm going to need to buy a ps4 for this, one of my favourite games of all time

Always wanted to play this. Looks amazing. Pre-order slapped in. Just need to actually find the time to play it which is the difficult part.

You got triggered again.

It’s getting too easy at this point.

Why do you think that's being triggered? This is a normal back and forth for me... Its mildly entertaining, not necessarily for the other person...

How long did it take you to complete?

It took me more than the average time because I was messing about a lot. Why did you speed run such a great game?

Anyway you need to stop getting triggered so much. I fear for your health.

Didn't have the internet back then so I'm surprised MGS got knocked for its length.

I thought it was one of the longest game I'd played at that time. Then again, it was one of the first story driven games I'd played, so it was engrossing af.

It wasn't a speed run. Fcuk knows why it took you two so long, unless you weren't very good at it :smirk:

The triggered shtick is tired tho, its 2018 try harder.

It may well have just been gamespot and I'm misremembering? I do remember rerunning on the weekends in around 6 hrs tho.

If anything I think its due another rerun haven't played it in some time, and I've replayed all/most my classics since.

Got two codes for update 5.5 beta if anyone wants.

Can you tech geniuses help me out.

Both my son's have ps4s in their rooms but I only have one ps plus subscription. They each have their own psn account.

Can they use the same ps plus sub because no way am I paying for 2? If possible, how do I set it up? Explain to me like I'm an idiot... because I am.

Sign into ID1 on 1st PS4 (PS1) and ID2 on 2nd PS4 (PS2) as master ids. Then sign into ID2 on PS1 as child id and do the smae for ID1 on PS2. Buy ps plus on ID1. Now as long as you use ID2 on PS1 and ID1 on PS2, you will have ps plus on both.

Not sure if that makes anything clear tbh.

Great, thanks mate. I'll give it a try. Would they both be able to play at the same time?

Only if they login to different accounts. If they only log in to the child accounts on both PS4s, it will be fine.

Anyone know any good deals on a PS4 at the moment. I sold mine cause none of my mates had one. Now most of the feckwits do .

Me and a friend pay for 1 game between the two of us (buy via the ps store), then both download it.

Has a few disadvantages(only one can play if psn/internet is down, can't trade it in, storage, ps store prices) but it's saved us a good bit so far. Only really do it with big multiplayer titles but it works well if you're planning on buying two.

I'm 6 Colossi in (last one I did was old beardy giant). Absolutely loving this. Really gorgeous looking game with a great soundtrack and ambience. The Colossal battles really are breathtaking as they try to shake you off. Only negative is the stupid camera.

Is there any way to increase ones stamina btw?

In the original you had to shoot lizards in the overworld

Thanks mate. If we have a disc game I guess they can't both play at same time?

Was a certainty with the success of Crash and Ratchet & Clank. Shame that there's a 99% chance that Spyro will look ugly as feck in this.

Hope VV told Activision to feck off and kept true to the original Spyro.

Crash remaster any good damo?

Spyro, needs to get eberytever right just like crash.

The distance you can jump and glide, the speed you can run, this all makes the game work. In spurious you can often jump to places where you aren't meant to. Will you still be able to do that?

Actually I think in the 2nd one you csn jump higher and in the first you can roll with L1 and R1. The second was much better for jumping so i wouldn't mind them using that distance and compensating. Would be nice to get L1 and R1 rolls in the 2nd and 3rd too

Is this a wind up? Spyro was shite on a stick. Certainly doesn't deserve a remaster.
Saying that, I've always wanted a remaster of MDK2 and not everyone likes that.

Heathen.

Though you are a lot older so maybe I have fonder memories of the original just because I was a kid (7) at the time the first was released while you would have been in your 20s.
