Has anybody played Prey?

Came out earlier this year and it's down to £12.99 already. Was wondering if it's worth picking up

I've been considering getting Prey. It's been compared to System Shock 2 and Bioshock and it's cheap as chips. It's also by Arkane who are a very good studio (Dishonored games are great).

I played it for a good few hours and it seemed decent enough but I wouldn't say it's close to SS2 or Bioshock, though it tries to be.

Worth a go from what I remember, I really must go back to it actually.

Yeah, i probably will get it. It looks interesting and has some decent reviews. I always got a Dead Space vibe from it. And that's one of my favourite games of all time.

I thought Prey was shit. Its just never very gripping and becomes frustrating when literally any item can be an enemy so you're constantly blind sided. I gave up on it after about 6 hours.

Is it normal that my PS Plus 12 month subscription I bought in Germany doesn't work in my old PS3 account with a different country ?
Did you try creating a new account and set the country as Germany?
I'm pretty sure if you have PSN on one account, you can use it on others

Is the Witcher 3 really worth spending 100+ hours on?
I bought it during the sale last week and played it for about 10 hours so far (1/3 through Act1). It´s good but it´s nothing special so far. I have the feeling I am either a few playing hours away from "getting dragged in and getting addicted" or stop for a few days and never run it again.

I felt the same way at first. Velen is fairly drab and mundane (assuming you’re still there), and I was starting to feel that it was an impressive game but not for me.

Had I left it there I’d have been sorely mistaken. Keep playing, definitely.

I really couldn't get on with the Witcher. I can recognise that it's obviously a good game, but there was just so much shit to do. I know you don't HAVE to do those side quests and all that, but there was just so much clutter i couldn't ignore it. It's great that they put all that content in, but i was asking myself can there be too much.

Obviously it was a yes for me and i just had to bounce.

I'd say yes for the story alone.

The gameplay issues really hold it back for me, it's just full of things I wished were better or even less dull, but you can't beat the tale it tells and some of the side quests are ridiculous good.

Thanks, i will try to get through Chapter 1. And yes, i am still in Velen. So far i tried to just do all the quests as quick as possible, i spent nearly no time on anything like changing gear, talent points or alchemy.

Depends on the gamer. I would have been all over the Witcher when I had more time on my hands, nowadays I only really play maybe twice a week for a hour. It would take me all year to get close to finishing it.

I see, that´s my problem as well. In the past it was so easy to get dragged into a game and its world. Nowadays i have to fight for a hour or two of gaming every second night which makes it extremely hard to get going, especially in big games like the Witcher where it takes days before you even understand the mechanisms and concepts.

Yeah, time constraints are definitely an issue. If you do have a couple of hours at a time though, I reckon you definitely could get into it.

I found it really hard to get going too, and to get into the mechanics as you say, but as time went on and I needed a boost to deal with enemies, I was forced to become familiar with them and it's not that bad, tbh.

It took me a fair few weeks (months?) to not feel overwhelmed. Even after I became invested and fell in love with the world, I'd generally get a feeling that I'd barely got going, even if I'd spent a lot of hours.

Shoo those thoughts away. It really is ridiculously how well they've fleshed out and diversified the quests (including side quests), and how real the world looks. I turned off the "GPS" (dotted line telling you where to go) for immersion purposes, and unless I feel the time pressure, I'll always ride, and usually not gallop, just because I want to take in the world.

Been playing through Dark Souls 3 again recently.

Absolutely love that game. Wasn't really into these games before, but i bought Bloodborne for the PS4 and loved it. Platinum'd the game and everything.

So going to go for a platinum run in this one now.

Well, GTA5 is a remaster of a PS3 game so it's getting on a bit in age. Still a great game.

I would say the new Ass Creed, especially if you're a fan.

That kind.:lol:. Two best games for me are ass creed 2 and gta 3. So can't decide now . I know that gta 5 is brutal so i am curious is origins really that good. They say the best creed so far
GTA v fixes everything wrong with gta IV. And unfortunately introduces a few new negative things

4 was unplayable for me on ps3. I have great big uhd tv and graphic was awful.
But on youtube gta5 looks like gta 3 which is maybe beyt game ever

Just considering to buy ass creed origins or gta 5. Please help!! Which?

GTA V easily.

AC will get boring pretty fast and atleast GTA has the online too. Single player is better than any open world Ubisoft game will come up with.

Good offers on the PS Store today. Two games for £25. Eligible games:

Wolfenstein NO is going for £3.70. Evil Within is £4.79.

I like deals but I'm not fond of digital copies.

I hear you. A bit out of touch with the whole thing and was turned off digital copies when the nephews got an Xbox with Fifa and it took 2 hours to download xmas morning. Not fun.

Plus Im lethal with my ebay account because its so easy, having to go to a shop to get a game is more of a deterrant to me impulse buying so ill be trying to avoid anything digital for now. Lets see how long that lasts.

Just bought Gravity's Rush 2 and Dangan Ronpa from those. Not sure if I'll like them but I remember digging the Sailor Moon-esque vibes I got from the Grav Rush 2 demo.

Prey, The Last Guardian and The Last of Us are definitely worth a punt if you haven't played them.

If you're a sucker for nostalgia (and owned a PS2) there's a new theme released today that makes your PS4 dashboard look like a PS2:

Quite neat. I may buy this.

Tried the Monster Hunter demo / beta. Clunky combat, mediocre graphics (I have a Pro and I chose to concentrate on framerate - it still sucked), and I didn't die once. Yes, it's technically a beta but the game releases next month so any changes are going to be minor, I would have thought.

I played Tri and had similar thoughts, only it was a hell of a lot worse. Why are these games so popular?

Backlog was loooking so good until 2 weeks ago. Only really had Witcher dlc’s and trying to get back into gravity rush 2 (which wasn’t really floating my boat)

Now I’ve got res evil 7, ac origins, hellblade, persona 5, shadow of Mordor, also in the middle of Wolfenstein 2

I got this and I like it

I only ever had a ps2 briefly and only ever played pro evo on it. So I dint get it for nostalgia reasons. But I do like it

Right I'm gonna get a PS4 at the boxing day sales I've decided.
1. PS4 slim is what I've decided (I want it small and slim) - I know not the most powerful, but am a very casual gamer so guessing it'll do?
2. Want to get into N.American sports games, NBA 2K18 a must have I guess? NHL18 any good too?
3. FIFA vs PES (I'm super shit), is FIFA18 the winner these days?
4. Am a big COD fan (COD4 on PS3 is what I loved the most), what's the best one thesedays?
5. Any other 'must haves'?

1. Yep, it should do but go for the 1tb as memory gets used up fast. PS4 pro if you already have or will have a 4K ultra hdtv.
2. Nba2k is good, but they sold out pretty hard with the micro transactions. Madden is big as well. Not sure about NHL18, but if you’re a hockey fan, that’s the only option out there. MLB 17 The Show is good if you like baseball.
3. I have FIFA (which is by far more popular), but I preferred the PES gameplay. If you like a lot of content and playing online, go for FIFA. If you like, IMO, more realistic gameplay, go for PES.
4. Haven’t played COD in a while, but COD WW2 just came out and it has decent reviews.
5. Uncharted series, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, The Witcher, Dark Souls, Nioh, Final Fantasy, Crash Bandicoot are some popular games (haven’t played all of them though). Obviously the COD, Battlefield, Assasins Creed series’ are very popular as well. GTA V, The Last of Us Remastered if you haven’t played them on the PS3. There are games mentioned above on this page as well.

re: PS4 Slim vs PS4 Pro - I will probably get a more upto date TV (Samsung UHD 4K tv I think they're called). So should I aim for the Pro then? Is it worth the difference?
