Ok so a bit clueless here. Im seriously considering buying a PS4 and a little overwhelmed at that the set up. Ill be plugging it in to a standard HD ready tv and have WiFi in the house. Can I just set up and play? Do I need to plug it in to the broadband modem or can it work off the WiFi without plugging it in?

Also the main gaming will be done offline so should I go for the 500gb or 1tb version? Only €50 difference between the two.

What else do I need to do?

Thanks in advance.
It connects to WiFi so you don’t need to plug in the Ethernet. Just connect the HDMI to tv, plug in the power cable, set up the network settings, and you’re good to go.

If you plan on buying a decent amount of games, go for the 1tb. Games need to be fully installed onto the hard drive (they can’t run off the disc alone) so memory gets used up fast since one game can be 40-60 gb. Add the save files and other misc content, you’ll have gone through the 500gb in no time.

I am having a problem with online, trying to play with my friends but it says that connection was broken possibly by NAT issue and we cannot connect via party chat or play any games online. We can play online with other people though. Has anyone experienced this?

Definitely get 1 TB. Games are very heavy.

Perfect thanks everybody.

Checkout the free-to-play game of Warframe as well. I just decided to check it out today, and found the whole idea and execution much, much better than a full-priced game like Destiny. Not saying Destiny is bad, but it should have provided more. Check this pretty in-depth video into the game:

I quite liked it when I played, can't remember much now but remember some bits felt lacking. Also, aren't the group's you join with always random?

I havent played it yet, but I am liking the ideas after watching the youtube. I mean, for a free to play game, it is looking rather stylish. Will try to post my own review once I play it.

So despite having already more games than I'll play in two lifetimes... I bought Nioh.... And the Nioh season pass both in the sale.

I've still got HZD to finish, plus about 85% of Witcher 3 to do and both dlcs yet to start, plus last of us not even started.

I'm mad

I just couldn't get into Nioh and I'm a massive Soulsborne fan. I might have given it more of a chance if I didn't get a Switch shortly after buying it but currently I can't see myself going back to it. It's a shame because the combat seemed quality.

Can't decide between Horizon, Yakuza 0, and Persona 5. They're all great. Persona 5 probably just about edges it.

I'd love to weigh in on that debate but only played HZD. Persona 5 was nearly bought during the sales but I know I'm getting Zelda for Xmas and that will take priority. Persona is definitely next on my list, I'm just trying to avoid buying games before I have time to play them.

So, what's everyone's black Friday haul looking like? I got:

Persona 5 - £27
Assassins Creed Origins - £35
Dying Light: Enhanced Edition - £15

That'll do me nicely until 2018.

Nice. I ended up actually buying the PS4 for my Gf flat (and shes buying a 50 inch TV so it works out well). Got the Amazon deal which was 1tb and comes with COD and Fifa.
But she keeps bugging me to get her Just Dance ...

Picked up The Evil Within 2 on sale last night. Seems to have gotten very positive reviews and I love horror games.

I just started Resident Evil 7. I'm liking it so far. I used to love the old RE setting, but this is pretty good too.

Bought literally nothing for Black Friday as I buy nearly every game on release. Only big games I haven’t bought this fall are NFS and Battlefront 2. I would have probably got them if they were half price but I’m not really too bothered especially with all the stupid shit in these games.

Is it normal that my PS Plus 12 month subscription I bought in Germany doesn't work in my old PS3 account with a different country ?

I moved from destiny to warframe four days ago. The MMO elements are exactly what I wanted in a game, progression is fantastic and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a loot based game. The amount of characters available gives you enough variety options that ensures you won't be bored.

I started a new FF 12 game with my old PSN account, I can't transfer it to the new one with a psn account in the same hard drive can I ?

Yeah ? It's that good huh ?

Damn, saw this too late but it's ok. I did save up for a couple of games for a while :D

Yeah it's brilliant, you go in wondering how the feck they are going to make the setting/story work, but as each revelation reveals more and more you're sitting there going

This title belongs to The Witcher 3. ;)
Now that was a proper game and the best thing for me is that I've never been a fan of this kinda game (magic, sorcerers, dragons, basically fantasy games) before. Honestly I didn't feel like playing any other game for a while after it.
