Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

If you have PS plus you can backup your saved games on cloud. That way when you reinstall the game, you can restore the save games. Also, maybe an external hdd to install your games would be the best solution for you.
Your save data should be separate from game data and as such save data should stay when you remove a game. However, i would backup your save data. You can do this via ps plus cloud and i think on usb stick. When you reinstall a game the saves should still work, but i have never done this so not 100% sure. Why dont you get an external hdd? Save having to download updates again in the future.
Ya I have PS plus actually. How to I back saves up to that?

After installing Uncharted 4 (it's a physical copy) it says that the game takes up 48GB of data plus another 13GB with an update. It's says I now have 18GB of free space. When I go to begin the game without completing the update as I'll be playing offline, it says I still don't have enough room. How can that be the case when it says I have 18GB free?

Has anybody got a random email from Sony saying to change your password recently?

I got one last night for an old account that I don't use anymore but it's using my main email address. I just said for security reasons I should change my email. Seemed weird to me so I didn't click the link and tried to log on to the account on my PS4 to change the password that way l. But when I do it says that I need to change my password and has sent me an email to do so, and I get the exact same email which tells me it's legit.

I've had the same password for as long as I've had a psn account so maybe it is a security thing to change the email. But just seems strange to me.

I didn't get an e-mail but was prompted to change my password upon logging in, a few days ago.

Does anyone have a good working knowledge on the subject of PSN acounts and being in another country? I'm going to be in Canada from UK for 6 months and will be taking my PS4. I'm guessing that I will be able to log in with my UK account, as normal, but how will it work with regards to the store and downloading games that I have in my library? I'm not overly bothered about purchasing from the store whilst I am there but want to be able to access my existing content.

So there was still no email sent to you when they asked you to change it? Cause I can't change it without following the link by the looks of it.

Ah, yeah. I then got an e-mail once I had been told to change it upon log-in. I thought you meant that you were initially notified by e-mail and I just re-read your post and see that it was an old account that you don't use any more. Yeah, you would have to follow the link to change the password.

Cool thanks. Yeah got an email out of no where but deleted that then got another one when told to change which is same as you by the sounds of it. Might just change the password then delete the account since I don't use it anymore. That's if you can delete a psn account which I'm guessing you can.

Anybody got any insight into this?

Afaik the store is tied to where the account was created. So a psn account created in uk will always access uk psn only no matter where you physically are. Your library will be unaffected.

Yep - my PSN is linked to the UK even though I haven't lived there for over 10 years. Anything I buy from the store either goes on a UK credit card, or I just pay with PSN vouchers (which you can buy online for any region).

Ah, well that turned out better than I expected. Nice one.

BTW I have found this site to be flawless when it comes to buying digital PSN cards. On Amazon, etc, you have to use a UK credit card if you want to buy a UK PSN card, and you can't use PayPal. This site lets you pay via PayPal and that account does not have to be tied to the same region as the card.

Any of you check out Drawn to Death yet? It's free on PS Plus this month, Had a few games last night and it's fairly decent. I never though I'd hear the phrase "Cock womble" in a game but yeah, that happened in this :D might take some getting used to the various characters, weapons and special moves but nit was pretty good. The art style might be a bit jarring for some though but it's a nice idea I think.

Anyone done the new update? What size is it? Changes? or was it purely to fix the WIFI issues experienced with the previous update?

Quick question, do you need a HDMI 2.00 to output HDR on a standard PS4?

The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy is making me such a hypocrite when it comes to remasters/remakes. Really hope the demo that is hitting some stores in the US gets put on the PS Store sometime soon.

It would be very foolish of them not to put a demo up.

They need to introduce crash to a new generation of people. Obviously a lot of the people who had PS1 will buy it.

I figured they would wait until they've shown off Warped so the demo would have a level from each, but that theory is out of the window.

This definitely feels like a testing the waters type of project. If this sells like it should, they'll probably announce a CTR remaster/remake at PSX.

Heads up for a great and not too costly game, got Nex Machina today made by Housemarque in collaboration with Eugene Jarvis (Smash TV, remember that lol!). Its feckin brilliant and just £15.99

My Gameplay, Stage 1 (after a little bit of practice)

Hitman the complete first season is 17.99 on ps plus. Worth a buy?

Bought it last week. It's really good so far, and it's in the vain of Blood Money which was my favourite of the series.

Excluding the dlc, there are only about 6-7 missions which isn't loads, but obviously they want you to play them numerous times to finish the missions in different ways. There are also extra contracts you can do on side characters from these levels too.

Worth the buy for £17.99 definitely if its your thing.

Nice, just downloading the free first level actually which didn't realise was there initially.

Currently moving places and am somewhere in the interim until new permanent residence is available. Brought my PS4 and the first night it fell on the floor (was on a box not that high up). As a result, it needs to reinstall the firmware in order for me to play it - thus resetting everything - but I don't have a damn USB stick to do so. Will probably be days before I get the USB, sort out the hardware error and reinstall the games I had.

How I feel right now:

Asked in the FIFA thread but didn't notice this one. Is there any way to speed up downloads? I've tried rest mode and changing some settings as per advice from google but nothing seems to help. Currently expected to take 14 hours to download Modern Warfare.

Up the speed on the ps4's internet connection by running an ethernet cable straight from the router to the console.

Hey guys, I've been planning to get a PS4. But there are rumours that PS5 will be launched next year? Does that make a new machine at this moment a bad investment? Or is getting a used PS4 an option?

No chance of that happening. Even 2019 holiday would be optimistic.

No chance with the amount of games Sony are releasing next year.

While the console is still welling then there's no need for them to release another one for a while. 2019 is most likely the year it could be announced.

Cheers guys. Will get a new one. Any recommendations on which one to get? Seems there are at least 3-4 models. I won't be playing much. Fifa, NBA and one or two other games will probably do. Similarly, extremely high resolutions are not required as well. I have a modest TV screen and no intention of getting a new one at the moment.

Get a ps4 slim 1tb.

Mine is plugged directly to the router, it's the only thing that is and I have approx 30-32mbps. I can confirm this does not alter download times.

PSN is not a realistic measure to check speeds.

I get 300mb and 20mb upload. I get 230mb and 7mb upload on PSN. Where as on my other devices including Xbox I get the full speeds.
