Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

I've just ordered pstv, I'll report back with my findings upon reciept.

Has anyone else experienced problems with the USB cable that came with the PS4, mine is so temperamental and is bordering on useless now. Had to go Tesco and buy a new one today hope it last for longer than a few months.

to charge the controller? No. I've had mine for over a year and it works perfectly still.

Yes the charging cable, I have had mine since January and for the last few months its been funny and now it almost wont charge anything. So it was disappointing on my part.

Bit of a random, and off topic, question here but I thought this was the most appropriate active thread to ask it in.

I decided to replay the Uncharted trilogy to get me back up to speed with the storyline before Uncharted 4 comes out. I finished the 2nd one last night. As was the case in the 1st one, as you completed a chapter in the game, there was an option to play those completed chapters individually on the main menu. As "Chapters" was one of the options on the main menu of Uncharted 2 I assumed this was the case here too. When I went on it to replay the train mission () it turned out that the only chapter I could play was the very first. It says on my saved game profile that I have played the game for 11:30 hours and have found 20 treasures so it recognises that I have passed the game (I got the relevant trophies too) yet says I have only 1% of the game complete. I'm just wondering has anyone else noticed this or is it just some glitch that has effected me?

Long time since I've played it but I did use the chapter select to go back and find treasures so it should let you. It may be tied to the difficulty level? Say if you completed the game on Easy it probably only lets you replay the chapters on easy.

I completed it on normal, as I did for Uncharted 1 which I had no problems with in terms of accessing chapters. Seems pretty strange. Thanks for your reply anyway. :)

Probably being paranoid here but said I would ask anyway. Got a PS4 for Christmas and the only two games I have for it are Watchdogs and Fifa 15. It seems to run very quietly on Fifa but sounds louder on Watchdogs. It's not exceptionally loud by any means (I can only hear it if I pause the game or enter the map) and it does seem to go quieter for a period and then increase in noise every so often. Is it normal for the fan noise to vary from game to game? I've heard some people the PS4 runs very loudly for KZ but not sure if there is any truth in that.

It ran loud for me on that game, lot of processing I think with graphics an map size.

I noticed that with Watchdogs. We may both be paranoid as it was something I took an interest as I'd only got the PS4 around then. Maybe there is more going on in Watchdogs with the environment at certain times.

I just make sure air can get to it and it isn't in a tight enclosed space, everyone says that's fine its supposed to be like that.

Good to know it's not just me and perfectly normal then!

Ya it needs to be out in the open as much as possible. My PS3 was giving me trouble with its fan. I had it kept in a fairly small timber unit with it only open at the front with the door down. I then made a small shelf which can be pulled out and the PS4 is on that now. The PS4 itself is outside the unit, and the fans blow the hot air back into the unit. I'd imagine it's fine as the air can circulate in the unit behind the PS4 and leaves out the front of it.

Yeah currently playing GTA and it's fine.

Thanks! Nothing to worry about then.

It runs loudly for me in same areas in Last of Us. Fine for every other game. I don't have watchdogs though.

Has anybody had problems with their PS4 connecting to their controller? I've tried it on a different PS4 and it works perfectly but on mine it takes about 3 seconds to respond after I press a button.

Battery life really doesn't seem like an issue to me, if you plug it in for a quick charge of like 10 minutes you get another hour out of it. You can buy or use any micro USB cable thats a bit longer and continue gaming, you can charge it on standby, you get like 8-9 hours gaming out of it from full.

I bought Abe's Odyssey New and Tasty for €9 & The Wolf Among Us for €11 in the January sales on PSN. Loving both of them; the former takes me back to the PS1 days when I'd binge on it for hours. The Mudokens are still hilarious with their little quips and those little things with the guns and tentacle mouths have the greatest laugh ever.

TWAU was a surprise hit tbh, even though I've enjoyed everything I've played from TellTale I was apprehensive about the concept, but damn, it's really cool and really interesting. First episode was a slow burner but enjoyable. Can't wait to power through the rest.

Is there any good two players games ? I have only played fifa, nba 2k and Last of us.

It can be fighting, racing or shooting game.

Two players on the same console like Fifa or playing with friends online?

You should also set your controller to switch off after say 10 mins of inaction to extend the battery life
