Yeah the rubber has changed but it seems to be the actual plastic underneath isn't as rounded and a little sharper against the rubber. The rubber on the ps4 also seems to have a seam that directly rubs against this which creates a weak point. Think I'm going to order some PS3 rubbers and stick them on instead of replacing them like for like.

Does anyone else still not actually know where the power and eject buttons are on the console itself? I just used the controller but always seem to make it do stuff while cleaning it or accidentally touching it, I can't find them when I try though!
They have icons on them, albeit quite small. Get some glasses ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Has anyone else sent their controller back to Sony while it was still under warranty? Just got tired of the warn thumb grip and sticking R2 and heard other people have had success with getting a new controller due to this. So filled out the online form and sent it off today.

So just got my new ps4 this morning turning it on done all the setup stuuf everything was fine.Started Dragon Age Inquisition and got to the character creation stage when the system just turns itself off.
It now will not turn back on properly blue light flashes but I can't get to home screen.I can turn on safe mode alright,but it still won't restart using safe mode.
I have tried a lot of suggestions on Sony's support site and nothing is working.Anyone else have this issue and what did you do?

Yeah, its getting ridiculous tbh. I'll give it to Microsoft, they seem pretty good with reliability of their network
The Xbox One seems to be up a fair amount more than PSN but it's not great. On 360 I honestly don't remember Xbox live ever being down. I'm sure it was but it would have been so rare and dealt with so fast that I genuinely can't remember it happening one time.
There were 2 days where it was down for like 5 hours but it was scheduled and we'd been told about it weeks in advance.

Positive thing from this psn down thingy is that finally I would be able to finish Last of Us. Also, forgot that I had stick of truth on Ps3. Will be starting that soon.
Next gen hasn't been good for either, live has been better but not great

Ya it is.I think I have identified the harddrive as the problem.When I took the harddrive out and turned the ps4 it went to a white light and an error message.
I am currently trying to completly reiniialise the system using a usb drive.If that doesn't work I'll have to send it back.
Sony need to sort these issues but to be fair to them they have been hacked and attacked constantly over a long period (well publicized) and have probably mitigated thousands of attacks.
Microsoft have had issues and they are as big as you get along with Google and Amazon when it comes to cloud hosting. Sony should work with them and the security companies more but they will want to be careful, Google will be loving the fact they have been given the chance to air that film on their platform.

Happened with me to. PSN is down but for some reason I couldn't even get into GTA story mode! Ended up removing the Ethernet and that seems to have worked for now.
Pretty frustrating alright, I was going to download Dragon Age. It's at a good price on the PSN... if I could access it.
Just got my PS4 and am trying to join PSN for the first time. Am finally able to enter my details and everything after hours of not being able to but now it's stuck verifying my email and won't let me progress.
Got my new PS4 from Santa this morning but I haven't set it up yet. I got a download code for 'The Last of Us' from Amazon - I assume it can't be used and downloaded until the PSN is back up and running?
I guess that's also the same with redeeming my PS Plus code? Does PS Plus require any downloading or waiting once the PSN is working again, or is it pretty much instant?

Yeah you won't be able to download the Last Of Us until it's working properly, which is a shame. Same with the PS Plus code, though that is pretty much an instant process when it is working again.
Of course PSN is down when I actually want to buy something from them.
It sucks but it's not their fault.
I'm going to the US in a few days and I want to buy 2-3 new games, obviously one will be GTA V, can you recommend me other games?
If you like scary games, Alien: Isolation. I'm a nervous wreck whenever I play it. Infamous: Second Son is great fun too and should be cheap now.

I bought driveclub yesterday before psn went down. Wanted to play it today, turned it on and it just hung. Even my other games were hanging. So thinking that something might have happened during the driveclub download, I deleted it. But my other games were still hanging.
Then I realised psn was down. Turned the internet connection off and everything works. Well except that I now have to redownload driveclub again..

I had to return my original console because it broke, that was set as my primary console. It won't let me activate this console because of that.
