Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Uncharted gameplay didn't really wow me at all. Part 2 and 3 looked so great it doesn't look like a huge upgrade

When it started on the close up of his face I genuinely thought to myself 'if only it could look that real outside of cut scenes', then he started walking and I realised it was already game play footage.

Sick of all these hipster indie games, there's far too many of them for my liking.

Uncharted 4 looked pretty damn good. I thought we may have seen something else but I guess they had the Street Fighter announcement. Think PSX was a good idea from Sony.

edit: and yes you can also mark me down as being tired of lots of indie games. :smirk:

Jaffe took a massive shit with his pants still on at the end there, everyone was ready for a big reveal of something fantastic and it ends up being another shooting game with graphics from a psycho 13 year olds sketchbook. Nobody gives a feck about those games anymore, nobody.

Uncharted 4 though, worth it. Yakuza 5 localised finally, shame its on last gen.

I just watched all that thinking something good was going to happen

The final fantasy 7 isn't even a remake.

What a load of bollox

Aye that was poor from Square-Enix, Final Fantasy 7 and they can't be arsed to give it a proper remake. Nobody should buy that again unless they are practically giving it away.

Yeah disappointing in terms of new games announcements. I don't mind the "indie" games too much, I think it's unfair to call them all uninteresting, but generally I'd take AAA games over them every time. Some good stuff there from games we already knew about, but not enough big new IP or even sequels to existing IP. Street Fighter does nothing for me, and while that drawn to death game looks cool, I can't see myself getting into it because I could never get into the likes of Team Fortress.

What did they do now to feck with 7 fans?

Filled the screens with Final Fantasy 7 logos, talked it up, said its coming to PS4 then played the trailer and a million nerds hearts sunk..............its a fecking PC port with the same graphics from 1997.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare is free on the PS4 store from now until the end of the weekend.

That shooter at the end would be more appealing if it had better visuals. A colourless notepad with doodles for characters? Is this really what we bought new consoles for? I thought it started out great and the free P v Z from EA was nice but the ending was disappointing to say how long it went on. Is The Last Guardian well and truly dead? Was hoping to see some more of Rime too.

TLG is probably dead or they are saving that particular bomba for next years E3, basically if TLG exists then Sony know they can drop that at any time and win E3 bragging rights.

It's probably dead though.

Uncharted 4.......bet you can't guess who his big brother is voiced by?

Troy Baker

I think my PS4 has just bricked.

I had left a game paused and it had turned itself off, when i tried to reboot with the controller nothing happened and neither did the on switch. I pulled the power out and put it back in and it booted, I set a couple of downloads going and started a game. While the game was loading it switched itself off and now it won't turn on at all. If I remove power and plug it back in it beeps and the blue light comes on but then it just powers back down and becomes unresponsive.

Anyone know what's wrong with it? I'm really hoping it's not broke.

Fairly certain it's bricked.

I've just managed to boot it long enough to back my saves up to the cloud. I'm going to leave it for a bit and try a factory reset, if that doesn't work I'm hoping Argos will just swap it for me in store.

I know on the PS3 if you held the on/off switch for a while it'd reset itself, dunno if that works on the 4 though?

Has anyone got the playstation tv yet? What's if like? Does it work as well as described?
I've got one as I wanted to use remote play upstairs in the bedroom.

Sadly, there is a slight delay between pressing something on the controller and it actually happening. Makes precision aiming in destiny very hard to do. Also, in order to be in a chat party during remote play, you have to feck around to get it to work as starting remote play boots you from chat, and you can't use the native ps4 chat as the ps tv disables the mic jack on the DS4.

If these issues could be resolved then it'd be great. I'm going to try using Ethernet plug extenders to see if that eliminates the wifi delay.

Few things that I'm disappointing with on the PS4:

No DVD remote - the PS3 version was brilliant, I don't understand why there isn't an equivalent for the new generation. It's a royal pain in the arse having to use the controller when I'm just watching Netflix or something, not least because it sits there with its light on as a handy reminders that you're wasting battery life on literally nothing.

The inability to play video content from an external HDD. Seriously this is just mental, I've still got my PS3 hooked up in the living room for this sole reason. The new generation of console should do everything it's predecessor did, I shouldn't need to keep both to maintain the same functionality.

I want to move my PS3 into the bedroom, please sort this out Sony.

Initialise the system if you can.

It will wipe your data, but its gone if you can't do that anyway.

Tried it. Not helped. I'm taking it back to Argos tonight. Really disappointed with this happening. I've never had a console break and after 2 weeks buying it my PS4 died.

From the research I did yesterday this has been an issue since launch and is caused by the CPU.

I didn't know what all the fuss was about regarding The Last Guardian when I saw @JackXX and @Leg-End talking about it the other day. I did some Google searching and read about the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus games, which I have since downloaded from the Playstation Store. I've only played a few hours of Ico so far, but it is absolutely brilliant.

I never owned a PS2, so I'm sure there are many great games I've missed out on, but it's great to have caught this one. The two of them will definitely tide me over until the PS4 arrives from Santa!

Shadow of the Colossus is so good. Not sure whether it made our top 50 games thread earlier in the year, shame if it didn't.

I tell ya what... The Order 1886 is looking fecking brialliant from what's been shown at PSX

This might get taken down, but here's 36 mins of off-screen footage of the Demo people were playing.

I think it's by some distance the best looking game coming out. More so than Uncharted.

I love some of the set pieces shown - that werewolf bit was so cool at E3. And I like the concept behind it - I am a little concerned it's going to be just a solid corridor shooter but if they can get the atmosphere and story telling right then that may not be a bad thing at all.
