Right, and now they have a GPU that is in raw compute numbers 6x the RSX (but it's a much more modern and efficient architecture, so it equates to over 10x) in grunt with 6x the bandwidth. Ok, they've lost Cell to something not quite a capable, but the PS4 CPU doesn't have to support its GPU as Cell had to support RSX. On top of this they will be hitting this at times directly using machine code (something impossible on the PC). They also have 10x the memory to work with.

Minds will be blown!
 
Whilst I had lots of fun on Uncharted 1 and 2 (haven't played 3), does anyone else find the franchise extremely overrated?

It has very basic mechanics if that what you mean, it's certainly not deep (something I think that they finally solved with TLOU), it's a roller coaster ride which is what it was always designed to be.

Technically, it's not overrated at all, it's the dogs bollocks.
 
It'll look great for sure but I'm much more interested to see their new IP and how that is.

Uncharted's graphics probably will blow minds, the rest of it won't. Not saying it won't be great, it's just limited in scope thanks to what it is. When do we reckon their new IP will hit? 2016? 17?

I thought they said they have one the other week. Perhaps it wasn't a new ip and just a new game, possibly TLOU 2.

Claiming it won't be mind blowing isn't trying to damp it down. It's less 'damping down' than you did on your last post. I've barely overhyped Sunset, I haven't claimed it will blow minds, or be GOTY or anything else.
 
I've read these gaming threads with interest whilst down in the Newbies. I'm a casual gamer these days, I own both an Xbone and PS4 (I personally prefer the PS4) but don't understand the 'rivalry' thing.

Why do we have to argue over which is best etc? Why does one have to be shit whilst the other is great? Both machines have advantages and both have flaws. Enjoy what you enjoy, I say. Less of the dick waving?

To be fair most of us just like to talk about games, rivalry usually ends up being someone winding up Weaste and watching him go.

The two consoles are in competition with each other on the market, so naturally there's going to competition among users too. I hate it too and agree, but it's the way it'll always be.

I bought Strider when it was released, which I had not bothered now!

So basically, more Indie/quirky games for PS4 owners and proper stuff for PS3 etc?

Boring.
 
I'm not expecting bigger titles on PS4+ until 2015, you have let them build up the library first.
 
I don't mind it so far, I've enjoyed most PS+ games, Resogun, Contrast, Outlast, Don't Starve, Dead Nation, Trine 2 have all been excellent, Pixeljunk Shooter wasn't bad.

Didn't much enjoy Mercenary Kings(which I was hopeful for) or Stick It To the Man so much.
 
My PS4 has suddenly started ejecting disks on its own, and it keeps on beeping. Seriously annoying. Anyone else having this problem?
 
Mercenary Kings was dreadful. But yeah, Resogun was superb. Still haven't tried Outlast, it's just sitting on my drive. Dead Nation was great fun but very repetitive.

LOVING Trine 2. Beautiful game.

Are those PS+ games for EU or US? No interest in either of the Vita games.

Strider looks like a really good game, I'd be happy with that if I was a PS4 owner.

You're missing out on a great horror game. It's probably one of the best PS + free games so far in fact.
