Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

I have both the ps3 and the ps4 and the quality is not much of an improvement. And before jumping on me, i dont think there is no improvement, just not huge. I expect them to figure the hardware and software with time and in 3-4 years time we might enjoy something much better. For the time being though, nothing can beat a good desktop PC in terms of efficiency, video quality and utility.

It depends what games you're referring to though. The difference between next gen and last gen versions of Fifa 14 for example isn't huge, but it's still a good enough leap. As for games like Battlefield and the definitive edition of Tomb Raider, I thought that it was a considerable leap. They make the PS3/Xbox 360 versions look poor in comparison.

Maybe it's just me though.

One game is in the pipe that is going to show the difference, and I think we all know what it is.

Heck, even Driveclub is showing it.

How? do you remember the Xbox 360's launch titles? they looked like shit and played like shit for the most part. Look at MotorStorm on the PS3 now and tell me it was a massive improvement.

The PS4 and Xbone have already produced some impressive games. Battlefield, Tomb Raider, Infamous and Watchdogs are among the games that really do look smashing. Especially compared to their last gen counterparts.
I specifically said "gameplay".

Aye, I remember, the gameplay was a massive leap for most of the series switching generations. Smackdown vs. Raw, Fifa, killzone, Halo 3, NBA, Forza 2, cod 3, Rainbow six and many more. Don't tell me the gameplay wasn't a huge leap.

Yeah but most of them were released later into the consoles life. I remember buying King Kong and Perfect Dark Zero as my two first Xbox 360 games and they were underwhelming as hell gameplay wise. It was only after Gears Of War came out that we started to see any major leaps in gameplay and visuals.

I know what ox means and i know what moron means but what they mean together is, to me, unknown.

SVR didn't have a great leap at all if anything as the series went on it went backwards from SVR 2006, the engine was rarely improved and the core mechanics were pretty much the same since 2002.

It means two elements or terms in language that contradict each other in a phrase. For example "the happy death" or "the living dead". The PC space is anything but efficient due to many factors.

Ah, so English is your first language then? Or you have something to do with literature? Us versus the foreigners kind of thing?

In my mind PCs are more flexible being not only for games. And if electronics give more or less the same quality in one department but one can be used to do more stuff, i say it is more efficient. For me total output=efficiency since speed is not a factor i would rather use what gives me more options in total.

I see it as comparing coffee machines. One makes lattes, espresso, filter etc and the other makes only espresso. If the quality of the espresso is too similar i would choose the one that gives me more variety. It is more efficient for since i dont have to buy a different machine if i want latte.

Can i sup this up with a question? What does "stuck up" mean?

It's what Weaste uses a controller for.

No, all of these came out in 2005/06. Gears of war came out during fall 2006, it's still my favourite gears, RAAM fight was the shit.

I agree some early 6th gen games were pretty shocking. But it was about the titles that carried from the previous gen.

No, the core mechanics were changed in SVR on next gen with introduction of new animations and grappling system. New reversals were Introduced too I guess. And graphical improvement was massive on Xbox 360.

Not enough for me it was a series that really stagnated, I hope 2K Games can do something new with the franchise because the guys at Yukes need some inspiration.

Aye, wwe games aren't fun anymore. That genre has massive potential for great video games with fun and deep gameplay.

They tried to be to realistic with the series which is a shame. All that happens in matches is reversal after reversal then your man is low on stamina so the game becomes even slower.

It's a shame really considering how they started with the original smackdown and smackdown 2.

Hopefully this new gen will give them the power to do that, I'd like to see them release it on PC and allow the Mods to take over.
I shudder to think what the PC modding community could do with it...... The rosters, arenas........ jesus.

It's pace was a major factor in the old days, quick, easy controls, pick up and play, incredible fun. The loading times were the big issue, but they crammed so much into that one disc it's little wonder.

Tbh, they're pretty much become what back then they were the revelation from, WWF Attitude and the like(I had the ECW one which in modern terms would have just been a new skin of Attitide), slow, overly complicated to do the simplest of slams.... Clunky, bland games.

Naughty Dog are showing up next year, and PC gamers will be begging for it.

You snobbish bastards, wait until THE 1st party game on a closed platform shows you gayboys what could possibly be done if your platform was not ever floating and gloating! This will happen "oh feck, 'what if they made this for PC', why can't we play this?" Well, because you can't and you game on a shite platform that is not actually built for gaming in any form, it's built for running business applications. feck! Shock horror! You can't play Uncharted 4 on anything less than a good i7 and an AMD 7890, and then you'll have a trouble.

If you want to get into this industry as a programmer, learn machine code.

Loading times were certainly enjoyable with those screens though.

Here comes the pain was the last game that I truly enjoyed from THQ.

 That's true.

Yeah, the loading screens were fantastic!

Don't think I ever owned Here Comes The Pain, though I've played it plenty. Last one I owned was WWE 12, thought it was a bit meh, but I skipped a few before that too.

Weaste really dislikes PC gamers, huh?

He's just a ducking moron. Seriously. Pcs aren't built for gaming :wenger: look at the mods out for gta / watchdogs / etc. how is that not built for gaming?

I swear he is the CEO of Sony or some shit. Seriously deluded.

I love my console gaming and prefer it by a country mile to PC gaming. But there is no denying PC gaming can destroy console gaming in power if it really wants to.

Weaste dislikes anything more difficult than pong. He hasn't even completed super Mario before.

Yeah but you can't play Uncharted on it bro.

What gives you that idea?
Just a hunch really.

You really should know what the feck you are talking about before trying to talk abut it. It's a simple as that!

Do you want a discussion of the advantages of a fixed hardware platform over one that is floating underneath a behemoth operating system that was built primarily for business applications?

Ok, you start, what are the advantages of your Windows PC?

Come on, you cocky little shit, you want to talk about it, let's see what you have to say. I'll then cut you to ribbons!
