Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Are those PS+ games for EU or US? No interest in either of the Vita games.

Strider looks like a really good game, I'd be happy with that if I was a PS4 owner.
Looking forward to Strider alright. Vita is underwhelming this month.
I've heard that it's good :) Will check it out this weekend when I'm less busy.
I don't often like survival horrors, but I love it. Got the feel of an actual horror movie, that you never get with the likes of Resident Evil or Silent Hill.

It won't allow me to buy another 12 month subscription from the Store as it already says 'purchased.' I think all PS+ subscriptions are set to renew automatically so I'll just leave it.

You can stack them with codes from elsewhere, I just stuck another 3 months on mine this morning. Works out cheaper if you look about for deals.

I've read these gaming threads with interest whilst down in the Newbies. I'm a casual gamer these days, I own both an Xbone and PS4 (I personally prefer the PS4) but don't understand the 'rivalry' thing.

Why do we have to argue over which is best etc? Why does one have to be shit whilst the other is great? Both machines have advantages and both have flaws. Enjoy what you enjoy, I say. Less of the dick waving?

How refreshing!

Both machines have advantages and both have flaws.

At the hardware level the Xbone has no advantages whatsoever, in fact it's seriously disadvantaged, and more than people think. It's a huge great big turd of a machine if we are honest about it. PS4 is just about, and I mean "just", acceptable - PS4 is a hard solid turd - one wipe and you are done, Xbone is a soft chocolate mousse type of a shit - you keep having to keep wiping and wiping and wiping and you never really get totally clean bog roll - by which time your anus starts to bleed from the rubbing. The Wii U came out of the back end of a rabbit with diarrhoea.

My PS4 has suddenly started ejecting disks on its own, and it keeps on beeping. Seriously annoying. Anyone else having this problem?
Was the PS4 even turned on at the time? Because that happened to me the other day. It was bizarre. Couldn't stop it either.

The eject button, if you can call it that, on the early run machines was either way too sensitive or not sensitive at all. Mine's ok, but some people say that sometimes all you have to do is squeeze the thing for it to eject a disc. Now, why people are cuddling their PS4s is another matter.

It's mostly when it's on standby. Haven't noticed it when it's actually switched on, and it happens a lot less frequently when it's turned off.

Could have been something stupid like that in my case as well, I genuinely don't know. I was thinking it could have been a bug in the latest pathc but never bothered looking it up. It was only when I saw @Skills post that I was reminded of it.

I would hazard a guess that none of these defects happen with the models built by Sony themselves in Japan, only with the Foxxcon assembled units in China.

Mine is a foxconn, probably a race to which dies first. The PS4 or the person that built it.

Sony is weird at times, on the one hand they build tanks like the original fat PS3 and the OLED VITA (you can chuck this on the floor and it does nothing but bounce) and then cheap as shit housed units like the PS3 slim, the PS4, and the new LCD VITA.

Picked up AC4 for 20 quid, does it actually turn into a decent game? Awful so far.

Slow starter, once you get sailing and the world opens up it becomes excellent.
Cool, any tips for free running? All the guy does is latch onto everything when I want to run away and it doesn't seem very fluid.

Just something you get used to, I still found myself running up the side of things I had no intention of running up even towards the end of the game.

Whilst I had lots of fun on Uncharted 1 and 2 (haven't played 3), does anyone else find the franchise extremely overrated?

The first was a great introduction to a new IP. The second was brilliant and the third was solid but was missing something. I fully expect Uncharted 4 to draw influence and ideas from the things they learnt from making The Last of Us and possibly be more mature while still having the quips and humour from previous Uncharted games. Especially now with Straley and Druckmann at the helm. It could be a special game, just like The Last of Us is.

Why do you think that they have a new IP? They introduced one last year!

It was alluded to here beginning of this month. Still some way off with it though by the sounds of it.

They're not free, but I get your point.

Pedantic.

Depends on how you look at it. With the introduction of PS+ as a requirement for online play and the going rate for such a service (Xbox Live) being the same price the games are an added bonus which is kinda free.

Lets put it another way, nothing beats PS+ day when you go to the store, add 6 games into your basket and proceed to checkout to be greeted with £0.00. It feels free then let me tell you!

As I haven't got a PS4 yet then it doesn't feel free to me as thats why I pay for my subscription, for the games.

But yeah, the value is immense.

I don't like the idea of PS+ I didn't sign up for it on PS3 and I don't like the idea of needing it to play online on the PS4.

People argue that it's great value for the games, but If I wanted the games I would have purchased them at full price when they came out. Sony just want to guarantee an income stream for their crumbling empire.

It's just my opinion. I don't like being forced to pay for online services, even with "free" games chucked in as a sweetener. That's the main reason I didn't buy an xbox 360. It's xbox user's fault. If they hadn't bent over and signed up for xbox live, Sony wouldn't have followed a similar path.

Some of us had PS+ anyway, it was no skin off my nose that PS4 required it for online play as I had it anyway, and I don't play a lot of online in any case. I agree with you though, if people had not thrown such a huge amount of money at LIVE then this would not have happened.

I get where you are coming from but it's really great value for money, Sony could go down Microsoft route and just require you to show them your money if you want to play online - instead they have come up with great value service that offers free games as well.

You have lost plenty of money on previous generation then. I have got dozens of highly rated games for zilch or very low prices thanks to it, my backlog is impressive.

That said this month's line up is again not very impressive - Sony's fault for setting such high standards with their additions in the past. Normally people would be delighted with two big budget titles as well as four interesting indies.
