Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

I get where you are coming from but it's really great value for money, Sony could go down Microsoft route and just require you to show them your money if you want to play online - instead they have come up with great value service that offers free games as well.

You have lost plenty of money on previous generation then. I have got dozens of highly rated games for zilch or very low prices thanks to it, my backlog is impressive.

Not really. I only buy the games I really want to play. I have a couple of Fifas, Killzone 2 and 3, Red or Dead Redemption, Uncharted 2 and 3, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, Metal Gear cutscene, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain and South Park (which was cheap). I don't know how many of those made it to PS+ but I'm quite happy that I probably played them through and finished with them long before they appeared cheaply.

I got a couple of games with the console that have never been played, and I got Buzz and Singstar for social gatherings etc.

I have a huge backlog of games on my 3DS and Wii-U, so having more downloaded games to add to the list each month would probably stress me out.

Well, if you don't intend to play most of the big titles then it makes sense not to purchase PS+. I know I'll want to play most of them one day, besides I usually sell games after I've completed them these days knowing they'll appear on PS+ sooner or later in PS3's case - unless it's GTA which will never make it there for instance. The games I download from PS+ I don't usually play straight after but after a couple months I usually get into them.

It also helps me introduce some games I'd normally never play that turn out to be great. Borderlands, DmC, Metal Gear Rising, Metro I'd normally never buy in all likelihood, thanks to PS+ I've got to play them and enjoyed them a lot. Same for Vita and PS4 titles really.

Wow, the graphics for AC: Black Flag are amazing - well the sea is. It's a real shame they've created this gorgeous game world with such outdated gameplay.

What peaks my interest is that at one minute they are using the word "half-breed" and the next lycan, and then around 1:20 in is where where he says something like "lycans....that particular species of half-breed". That suggests that there are more than one type of them. What other possible half-breeds could there be? Vampires? What else? We can see in the video the lycan/werewolf feasting on a human as a vampire would also do. What other half-half creatures are there in popular myth. Mermaids obviously don't make sense.

It's just my opinion. I don't like being forced to pay for online services, even with "free" games chucked in as a sweetener. That's the main reason I didn't buy an xbox 360. It's xbox user's fault. If they hadn't bent over and signed up for xbox live, Sony wouldn't have followed a similar path.

In fairness Microsoft probably used some of that money for LIVE and created a fantastic online experience for the 360. Without that fee I don't think it would have been as good, you just have to look at the PS3 for an example. If Sony invest the money for PS+ subscriptions into the online infrastructure then it'll be more than worth the £40 a year fee. The 6 games a month are just an added bonus.

Other than cross game chat, I have never noticed one iota of difference in the performance of LIVE and PSN.

I was hoping they'd touch on English folklore legends like Spring Heeled Jack and the like, he could easily be explained in the game as a vampire like half-breed with super human strength/movements.

I thought they was a lot of different, with everything from the actually stability of the game servers right down to the features the 360 had.

PS4 rectified a lot of those problems but still has some improving to do. Which paying for PS+ will hopefully allow them to do.

What games do you intend to get? And post your PSN name.

Don't know. I didn't intend to get one, so I've not really taken much interest in the games.

Will wait on reviews for the following.

Far Cry 4

AssCreed Unity

Might skip FIFA this year, haven't really got a lot of usage out of the past few.

Not on the list but interested in

Hotline Miami 2
The Witness
The Walking Dead series (although pricing and splitting those into two games has put me off paying full price for them)

Feck, I'll have to buy around 10 from the list.

Played:

Fifa
Call of Duty
Battlefield
Watch Dogs

Interested:

Destiny
Fifa
Driveclub
Battlefield Hardline
Call of Duty
GTA
Project CARS

9 I'm interested in from the list

Id like to own the new gta and TLOU but I simply cannot justify re buying a game at full price a year later

You can get TLOU for £30, which to be fair isn't full price. Trade in the PS3 version at CEX for £10, you have it for £20.
