Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Is it 60fps? GT7 will be and look better than this, so.... no excuses.

And will have a much longer development time with a larger production staff.

Also, Evolution are a talented bunch. The decision was taken a long time ago to go with 30fps to have a higher visual fidelity and I think from what I've seen its the right choice.

So Evolution are basically saying that the PS4 does not have enough bandwidth?

Looks fantastic. The backgrounds in Forza are bear and boring.

The most important thing will be how it plays though. 30fps isn't too bad for arcade racers, but if this is meant to be more sim and also more competitive than your typical NFS then the loss could be a deal for some.

5 tracks and 10 cars for the PS+ version of Drive Club.

I actually think that's a good amount. But, apparently (I didn't even know) they promised a lot more - quotes like 'remember, you can earn platinum trophies.. it's the full game minus a few cars/tracks' and 'The only difference between the PS Plus edition and the boxed retail is that there's a slightly scaled down version of content...' and 'Yes, the PS Plus version will be the exact same as the full version, except that it may be missing a few assets such as cars or tracks, that will be found in the full version. However the online multiplayer, the asynchronous challenges and the single player campaign will all be present in the PS Plus version. The PS Plus version gives us to the biggest open community, day one. This game is all about socialising.'

I dunno, annoying that they seemed to promise much more. But I think that's a fair amount personally, they just shouldn't have been so bullish with their earlier claims.

Doesn't seem fair considering the wait.

Visually it looks very impressive, I don't think we have seen such detailed environments in a racer ever. 60 fps would be ideal but 30 fps isn't the end of the world, I'd rather see it in action before compeltely discounting it because of its frame rate.

The fact the PS+ edition is fairly meaty is a bonus, if its good it will get a full purchase from me.

The fact they have gone for something realistic looking rather than the stylised approach they used with Motorstom will be their downfall. Evolution is a studio hanging by a thread, this game better sell well.

Polyphony will make everyone look like mugs again in terms of visuals.

Do you really need volumetric cloud simulations? Do you need 3D trees and 3D animated crowds? That's what Polyphony got, because when you are hurtling down a track at 200mph you can't see that shit anyway. Turn 10 got that with Forza 5. What Turn 10 didn't get is that lighting is important to give a sense of realism. Evolution seem to be trying the other way and it's pointless. feck the 3D trees, nobody sees them, and improve those shitty shadow and reflection maps that are quite visible in your trailer. Then pump up the temporal resolution. Nobody cares about 3D trees and the modelling of the stitches on the leather of the seats of the cars.

Polyphony will make the best looking PS4 racer, without doubt. Will it be the most fun though? I'm tired of them not addressing the dumbass AI, its been the same since GT1 and thats not an exaggeration, time for them to actually do something about it.

It's not the point, if Polyphony can make a game that will probably surpass Driveclub visually and be 60fps, why can't Evolution do it?

You think that Motorstom rubber band AI was good?

I can buy a PS4 for no $$ using my reward points. I don't really have much time for gaming right now though. I already have a Ps3 and WII U so don't want to buy the PS4 right now.

When do you think the console will have some "must play" games?

I like that the other cars in Forza are ghosts of your friends. Smashing Randall off the track at the penultimate corner is a lot more fun than you'd think.

That's where drivatars are great in Forza 5

Dude I had no idea you had Forza

Kaz as you know IS more bothered about modelling stitches in the leather seats.

Yeah and its about time one of the Sony suits got a hold of him and shook some sense into him. NOBODY gives a feck about there being 22 variants of an old Nissan Skyline, put some of that time and effort into creating some actual AI with life, I'm not asking for much here.....just have them actually defend their line or know how to overtake.

Because they may not have the employees polyphony do? Maybe they were used to the way their engine worked for their arcade racers. Maybe they don't have the money polyphony do? Who cares?

It could still be an extremely fun game and look sweet at 30fps. It's what they've done and you moaning isn't going to change that.

You have a massive gripe over 30fps/60fps because the ps4 is capable of it and the xbone struggles. So anything running below 1080p an 60fps is automatically shit to you.

Yet you rave about knack. I honestly don't understand. It looks like a generic shit kids game. Atleast with driveclub they're trying something different, with the mass social aspect. Knack was basically just every kids game from the past few years.

I'm not over the moon it's 30fps, but it could still play well and look good. You just come in spouting technical bollocks to try and confuse people and "win" the argument, which there wasn't till you storm into these threads.

I'm more interested in what features there are, the track options, car options, if there is tuning etc etc than fps and resolution.

I actually like your insight about games and developers and what is happening in the industry but when you get your technobollock head on your posts are cringey. Sound like a school kid arguing about something that has never been mentioned or just repeating the same stuff over and over again.

Oh and I just absolutely caved in and purchased MLB The Show 14, imported from Canada delivered for the fine sum of just less than £38. There is no way its going to be £40 for PS4 on the store is there, more like £50? Might as well import it.

Yeah only 22 versions of a skyline is insane. They need at least 50+. The AI always get promised as improved but it never is, it's always the same in the gran turismo games sadly :(

You know what you guys should do? :D

Buy an Xbox One and Forza 5?

Hide. Because Weaste is going to bum you when he sees what you've been saying.

Weaste absolutely knows the GT series has gone stale. Besides some of us have raced him online, he has no business talking about racing games.

Were you in that gt5 game where he was pissed and all over the shop? Was like watching a younger sibling play a racing game for their first time ever!
