Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

I'm not a basketball fan but I've spent far more time with 2k14 than any other PS4 game so far. I'm a bit addicted to it, I cannot remember the last time I didn't play it just after getting back home from work. I've completed a full 14-game season with Clippers in a matter of 3 days, couldn't make a play-off though now I'm playing with Bulls. The only drawback for me is that you cannot shorten the season in MyGM, I cannot see myself playing an 82-game season - it's either 14 or 29 depending on how quickly I want to get it done (14 is preferable although you only get to play against teams from your conference except final).

Bulls are good to play with, especially around the paint - I love playing with Rose. Clippers were great defensively but didn't have much in the attack for me, Paul was poor around the paint and Crawford was inconsistent. I liked Thunder - Westbrook and Durant ran the show. Rockets were good to play with although I forgot to turn off injuries and when Harden got injured 6 games into the season for the following 7 or 8 I knew I couldn't carry on playing with them as without Harden they don't have that much going for them when it comes to attacking. Playing with Heat is pointless, LeBron is just too ridiculous.

Western is ridiculously good too when you compare it to Eastern where you only really have Heat as a top team.

82 games is a bit ridiculous, I loved the career mode where you play as the one player, but it just takes so damn long, 14 or 29 sounds much more doable.

Suppose you didn't chance the Celtics at any point? It's them I'd be playing, but I'm expecting them to be awful. Not too bad though, the Bulls are always my 2nd choice, could certainly go with them.

So Outlast for PS4 will be the free game next month apparently. One of the scariest games that I played. You can't really fight back against the monsters. You have to run away from them.

I've not played with Celtics, I'm going through the good teams first before trying some of the weaker ones. I guess you could try the weaker ones as long as they're in the Eastern - you could still make play-offs with Cavaliers or Celtics because there's not much quality through the conference. In the Western I'm not going to play with any of the weaker teams as I cannot see them handling Rockets, Thunder, Clippers or Spurs.

Cavaliers look like a good team to play with. I thought Nets would be good but I've not found them particularly enjoyable to play with, likewise Knicks although I've not given them enough time I feel.

29 is the maximum, yeah. If I got time that's how many I'd like to play (3+3+5+5 in the playoffs), if I don't 14 suffices. 58 is already too much, 82 is ridiculous when one game is taking north of 30 minutes (I'm playing with 6-minute quarters as that gives you a realistic scoreline, less than that and you're looking at 60-70 points per team range at most, more and you're looking at ridiculous scorelines with teams scoring more than 120 on a regular basis - 6 minutes per quarter and you're turning up with around 90 to 100 per team, at least I am).

If that line-up is genuine it's going to be a hell of a month again for PS Plus subscribers.

What do you do with these things, stick them up your arses?

As you know, I've had every playstation since the ps1, I've used the ps controller more than any other. This is the first time I've ever had a problem and I'm not very harsh on the sticks at all, in fact, I'd say I'm quite refined with them. My deterioration is very slight but there is a raised area on the left thumb-stick, on the bottom edge that looks like it is ripping. I'll just buy some thumb guards.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind the scoreline being in the 60's, I'd prefer that to the ridiculously high scores.

My left thumbstick is starting to deteriorate.

Come off it weaste, this isn't an unheard issue with the DS4. Do you really think there are legions of PS4 owners who've been sticking the left thumbstick up their arses, resulting in rapid degradation of the rubber?

If it follows the same pattern that's widely been reported, the ripping will get worse no matter how refined you are with them.

Yep, I know it's not me, I'm not doing anything differently than I have with every other controller I've ever owned. Weaste needs to accept there is a problem and it's sony's!

Given what I've seen of him on this forum, I'm not holding my breath.

Had to order those Thumb Grips myself. The left analogue stick looks like it's been used for years and not just 2 weeks! Stupid Sony.

I don't know, I have two of them and the rubber is not falling off even after the shit stained greasy hands of a 6 and 8 year old playing for quite some time.

Right, meaning yours are probably fine. Mine are as well, and both have probably seen at least twenty to thirty hours of use. I'm just saying that there are clearly enough cases of this issue to say that its more than just a small, ~1% manufacturing defect, which you would typically expect. It's not on an X360 RROD level or anything, but the occurrence seems a bit higher than what would be considered a "normal" defect rate.

I'm sure that Sony have already stuck a red hot poker up the arses of whatever company is supplying them with the rubber.

Yeah and being the honest the rubber could feel a touch better anyhow - it's the weakest part of a very good controller.

Agreed. It's not bad, but there's something a bit off about it. And yeah otherwise the controller is amazing. I'm playing Beyond Two Souls right now and it feels like shit going back to the DS3.

Yeah I don't imagine this problem will persist long. Can't see it being a particularly difficult thing to fix.

Oh yes, it's an absolutely brilliant controller, most comfortable controller since the original PSX controller.

I turned that sound down to minimum instantly, I assume that's the only way to have it off?

Damn, I love Playstation Plus!

Resogun, Don't Starve and Contrast..... madness! I thought Contrast was last months game, but flicking through the store, it was still available.

If they put Football Manager on it, I'd never ever turn it off for any reason, but fair fecks to Sony, that's coming to the Vita, eventually...

Right sonytards.

Which games are getting loads of errors? And are they still?

Also any other known issues apart from the rubber on the sticks?

When's the next big games coming out?

What's this camera all about and what does it do?

Anything I should know before I take the plunge?

Of the games I have, AC4, BF4, FIFA14 and the frees ones from PSN, I've had no errors as of yet. A couple of minor glitches.

My first console was bricked from the off but that's very, very rare so not really a concern - be wary of the Amazon Killzone bundle - whatever the reason they seem to have a higher failure rate going off the comments.

The camera is pointless at the moment I think.

I think the Order is the next big game coming out.

Yes, it's worth every penny and is incredible and will grow into the console to have this generation without doubt.
