Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang| ESPN: Move to PSG very close

I think City will just throw the absolute bank at Dortmund if they want him. I fully expect them to smash some spending records this summer.

United too.

Class signing if it happens. Good problem to have fitting him and Aguero in the team. They were always going to break the bank this summer, it isn't the end of the world.

Good signing if it happens. Gives them strength in depth but can easily play him, Aguero, Sterling and KdB in the same team.

Can't really see it, Dortmund will not sell imo. And even then I am not too worried. City need improvements, but not in the striker area imo. Can't see them fitting Auba and Aguero into the team and you can't really put one on the bench either. Play one of them on the wing would be a waste too. Yeah if Aguero has his typical injuries, it's probably nice to have Auba, but overall wouldn't be too worried about that transfer.

And I just can't see it happen. Auba is the one where Dortmund has the control, doubt they will sell him. Di Marzio is very good when it comes to transfers with connections to Serie A, but I am not so sure if he knows his shit about that transfer. Wasn't he also the one, who said Oliver to Dortmund was a done deal, that didn't happen.

That is just one gem in the long list of bullshit DI Marzio spouted about us over the years. If I would be bored, I would make a list of his biggest "rumours", but in this case it is not even needed.

Not even a whimper in Germany from sources close to the club, not a single rumour about a good striker, not enough halfway relaible rumours in general to explain the huge influx of money such a transfer would bring us (we woould bleed City dry given the contract situation), not a single past examplke in this decade where we sold a top player with that much time left on his contract. This is just not happening.

If City get Auba then they have the second best attack in the world, imo. 2 of the 5 best center forwards, 2 of the best attacking midfielders(both of whom work well on the wing), and a great prospect in Sterling.

Ffs, here I was gleefully looking forward to finally see how Pep will deal with not having the best squad in the league by a solid margin. Seems like that wont change.

That Fjortoft (spelling) guy also said something about a Bundesliga player to a PL club too. Hope it's not going to happen.

What about Aubamayang to Madrid?

Aubameyang has gotten pretty overrated in general and you won't get the best out of him on the wing. I think Mkhitaryan makes a lot more sense for City than PEA. Plus, what does this do to Iheanacho?

You can't expect City not to spend, so you have to just hope they spend poorly. In my view, a gazillion pounds for Aubameyang probably qualifies.

Dortmund surely cant sell, whats his contract like? Gundagun and Hummels out, possibly myhkitaryan as well with 1 year left, that would be 4 of their core out the door in 1 year.

City really would have to go mad on his transfer fee. I'm talking like €150M+ if they want him this summer but Dortmund really can't afford to lose a 4th top player in one summer if or they might just let Reus go as well and start a complete rebuild.

150M euros for Auba? Have a word mate, you sound like Rawk saying Ibra will be on £600K a week.

Well, EPL clubs love buying mediocre Bundesliga players for stupid money, so I see some transfers happen this window.

Until 2020, no clause.

SSNHQ headline....

CITY CLOSE ON AUBAMEYANG

Sky sources: Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in advanced negotiations for the transfer of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang.

According to Sky sources, City are also interested in Everton defender John Stones and Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte as they look to bring up to five first team players to the Etihad this summer.

Pretty big upgrade on bony. Will be strange to see how he fits in with aguero.

Depends how much they can get for him and what their plans are. I don´t think Tuchel is scared to play the talented babies. Say they get €100M plus Iheanacho for Aubameyang. Sell Ramos, too. That would easily be enough to buy Goetze and Morata, have something left for another defensive all-rounder and afford to run down Mkhitaryan´s deal unless the €40M demands are met.

Goalies:

Bürki
Weidenfeller

Centrebacks:

Sokratis
Bartra
Subotic
Bender
Ginter

Fullbacks:

Schmelzer
Durm
Guerreiro
Passlack
Piszczek

Defensive midfield:

Weigl
Sahin
Rode
Merino

Attacking midfield:

Reus
Goetze
Kagawa
Mkhitaryan
Dembele
Pulisic
Castro
Kuba
Mor

Strikers:

Iheanacho
Morata

It's actually depressing how City get Gundogan and Aubameyang while we get Ibrahimovic and Schweinsteiger.

If the player Fjortoft is talking about is Auba, he also said that the current offer was too low. So Sky just want to make it more sensational and act like it's dont, but Dortmund can of course reject offers.

The owner of bluemoon has said his reps were at CFA today.

He's been very reliable as well this past season or so. There is definitely interest then, just remains to be seen whether we can actually sign him.

In a sense he's right though. No way Dortmund will sell unless someone offers crazy money for Aubameyang and we're not talking 80m here. Not that he's worth it imho but to make Dortmund sell this summer with two pillars gone (Hummels, Gündogan) and another with just one year left on his contract (Mkhitaryan) unwilling to renew, I'd say the possibility of getting Auba for anything less than 100m is pretty slim.

Who has been bought from the Bundesliga by an EPL club for stupid money that was mediocre? The only two really expensive buys I can think of are De Bruyne who is class, and Firmino who showed his quality once he settled into the PL. I guess there's Shurrle.

Why would they sell for any less? They don't want to lose him at any cost actually so they are going to ask for crazy money.

I mean seriously why do you think they would/should sell him for a reasonable price if they don't want to lose him at all.

Expecting Ibra to be on 600K is totally unfounded, since I don't think we are facing much if any competition for signing a agining striker, even of his calibre.

Agreed. I think €100M plus Iheanacho makes sense. Maybe add a €50M buyback option for 2019 to satisfy Iheanacho, if he´s reluctant to move to Dortmund.

First time a potential City signing has made me go "oh shit..." out loud.

Must be terribly frustrating for Dortmund now that City are essentially "pulling a Bayern" on them, two of their best players in two weeks, they were rumoured to be interested in Hummels too before he joined Munich. Let's hope they steer clear of Reus.

Good for the league i guess but bad for us. Still think we'll go all out this summer ourselves so not too worried yet

Di Marzio is Sky, isn't he? So that's not really a new source then, Would be more interesting to see Kicker or one of those good Dortmund sources reporting it.

Pretty sure I just saw this exact tweet from someone on Twitter :nervous:

Would be a great signing for City, Dortmund are fecked aren't they.
