Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang| ESPN: Move to PSG very close

It depends on the type of striker we are looking for. If we want a fast striker he would be our best choice. But if we are looking a target striker, Ibrahimovic or Lukaku are the strikers we should target.

I have a feeling that the Bundesliga could be the best realistic source of talent for us in the summer. Sadly, we missed out on Firminio who has looked a class above Depay.

I would argue that if Depay was at LFC, under Klopp, he'd get more playing time and with the focus on scoring goals, he'd do better (I'm not saying he'd be a World beater, but he would do better than at MUFC).
The problem we have is LVG. His system prevents our attackers from doing well.
Martial is our most prolific attacker and he only has 7 EPL goals. Kane is on 19. In most league sides, 7 goals would be ordinary, if not poor; but for MUFC, 7 goals is deemed World class.
I'd want to see how Depay does under Jose, before making any conclusion.

Rumours appearing that he asked to not be selected for Gabun, because he is discussing a transfer.

My money is on Real Madrid.

Arent Real talking Lewandowski and his team so i would rule them out.

Could be Bayern wanting him - getting a replacement ready before selling. I don't think anyone in the PL

If lewa stays at Bayern then Auba > Madrid. If Lewa goes to real then Auba > Bayern. I think we need to look at players a little less in the spotlight, as players like this will be snapped up by the likes of Bayern, PSG, Barca, Real, City with CL football. I'd probably go for Lukaku personally as he can reach that level and might be less in demand.

Dortmund selling Hummels, Gundogan and Aubamayang all at once? Doubt it

Well to Real is not that unlikely. Some even think Bayern, which i think is impossible. But maybe he has an agreement that he can leave if Real come calling

Can't see him going to Madrid. His hairstyle is incompatible with Real values.

A good player, but not a United player. It takes a special kind of player to play for United. There's a few world class players out there that don't quite fit the "United" mold for me, and Aubameyang as one of them.

Can you name some of the others?

Well, look at Di Maria, probably one of the best RW's in the game today. How long did he stay at United? He hadn't got the passion required for the club. You need to know what it means to play for a club like United and Di Maria hadn't got it. It's unfortunate cause I love the player. I think he's an absolute joy to watch. But he hadn't got the mentality of a Keane or a Giggs who would have died for the club. We need to sign more Keane's and Giggs's, not more Di Maria's who would jump at the chance to leave us when somebody more attractive comes along.

Why don't you think Aubermeyang would have the personality? I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise.

He comes across as a merchanary for me. A player who highly relies on his lighting fast pace. When that goes, what's left?

Would much rather utilize Rashford who was free than splash 40-60m on Aubameyang. Rashford is Manchester born and loves the club. Plus, he's scoring isn't he?

Valencia.
Anyway, I'm not wild on Aubameyang either but mercenary and reliance on pace have no link whatsoever.

My point was 3 big players can leave and clubs can still move on
Dortmund has previously taken a loss on players transfers by keeping them and letting them go on a free. They try to keep it down to losing one superstar per year...unless that's changed since Klopp left.

He comes across as a mercenary to you because of his lightning fast pace? What?

Di Maria left because of LVG

Not because of Manchester United

Real would be crazy to let Benzema leave. Could be that Benzema want a new challenge?

He could end up at PSG as a Zlatan replacement.

Arsenal have always wanted him. Maybe Jose would work with him again but seems we have Zlatan in the bag

Agree with @Long Ball - if Ronaldo stays at Madrid it's Benzema to PSG and Auba to Real for me. Real to focus on speed and interchanging front 3 again.

Yes, that sounds about right. I do rate Aubameyang, but Benzema is pure class. Good move from PSG if this happens.

Dortmund have sold Hummels already, Gündogan to City is supposedly done too and Mkhitaryan hasn't extended his contract either, yet. Aubameyang on the other hand signed a long term contract not even a year ago.
Do ze maff.

I think his main challenge next season will be avoiding prison... How long will the trial (in France) take let alone any potential prison term.
Real can't rely on him being available (not sure anybody else will pay a big transfer fee with the court case coming up)

IIRC, PSG and Arsenal were Dortmund's competition for Aubameyang, so I would guess that PSG and Arsenal aren't good options for him.

Sorry what? Can you elaborate on this bit? I really don't understand the link between the two sentences.

Why is he a mercenary? Do you know him?

And his pace might wane - so what? You don't sign a player and expect to rely on him forever. When he starts to fade her be moved on.

To me it's key we get a player in upfront. Relying on a young lad isn't fair on him. He'll hit a rough patch as all players do and will need to be taken out of the firing line when people and the press start asking why he's playing so badly.

This lad looks the real deal - loads of pace, great movement and lots of experience. He'd also be an option wide right of a front three.
